Omega Aqua Terra Small Seconds Review: wristadvisor.com/omega-aqua-t... Calibre Omega 8916 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Movement: wristadvisor.com/calibre-omeg... #omega #aqua terra #omega aqua terra small seconds
Saw this watch in the flesh. Spent sometime comparing it to the Seamaster 300 and the 300m. I kept coming back to this one. It’s just lovely and sits so well on the wrist.
I just got it and it’s awesome. That small seconds and white chapter ring is nice. It’s different and a perfect cross between dress and sports. Can’t beat the versatile and value for money
Excellent review of a beautiful watch. I tried it on today at an AD and you're right it does look better in person. Whether its better than a Datejust is debatable but it is very handsome. And of course you can wear it with much less fear of being robbed.
I have to agree, these watches look much more refined in person, I think adding the small seconds will push me over the top to purchase one in the near future.
Love it. Very nice watch and yet you don’t see many reviews about them. My only complaint is that for some reason Omega decided to make the 38mm version of this watch for women. The 41mm looks great on your wrist, for my 6-3/4” wrist the 38mm would be ideal.
When it comes to Omega, I’ve always been a SM300m and PO guy. But around a year ago, I started noticing the AT. The first to grab my attention was the day date with the vertical teak dial. And now this. You’re absolutely right about it feeling even more refined in person. My only gripe is the color options being offered. The blue and the white dials are spectacular but I would have liked to see a black or dark gray dial in a 2 tone case. I think that would have been an instant but for me. Still, it’s just another spectacular piece from Omega. As for comparing it to the date just, well, I’ll just say that’s a watch I never glanced at twice whenever I came across it…
It’s weird, I went to my Omega Boutique to buy this exact watch and after seeing it in person, the other iteration of the AT stood out to me (ultimately bought it, too). I really like the look of the small seconds but the flair of the colored seconds hand was the difference maker for me.
That piece is gorgeous and, surprisingly, really carries off that rubber strap: A dress watch for a beach bum... Right up my alley! My only criticism of the AT collection is that, despite there being 121 references, there is not one single offering with Arabics or Romans...
I like your review. Can you try to not make so many quick and hard moves with the watch, so it can be seen and focused on? It was hard to focus on one aspect of the watch when you were moving your arm and the watch briskly. Thanks.
Out of Stock with Omega UK but I'm first in line at my local A/D. Should take about 4-6 weeks to come through. Plan to purchase the same version with an additional Steel Bracelet. Looks to be a very special watch. Great to see the Omega Brand back out front...it's been too long coming. Also have the wonderful 3861 Speedy & a 1st gen Aqua Terra..a real classic timepiece. And I'm not discounting the fabulous Worldtimer as a future aquisition :)
I bought this exact watch after the review. I absolutely fell in love. I’m the same as you, I plan on adding a bracelet too although the rubber strap is very nice. I was told by my local AD $750 for the bracelet. If you end up getting one please hit me up and let me know what your AD says about the cost of the bracelet. Cheers!
@@wristadvisor867 The Bracelet is £620 in the UK with around 2 months from order to delivery. However, I walked in to my local A/D a couple of days ago...and walked out with a Rubber Strapped Worldtimer! I know, I'm weak, very weak :)
Rob Dove Congrats on the Worldtimer, Mate! Not my cup of tea but what a fabulous piece. That laser ablated world map is insane... Bet it looks even better in the metal. And an absolute bargain for under £8K. Regards, Si.
I think this small seconds version is every bit as good as the last iteration... actually I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the regular 3 hander one, I prefer a sportier look. I think it just comes down to if you like a dressier look on it you'll go with this small seconds version now. Overall the AT lineup is even more versatile now. Its great they offer so much variety, although sometimes I think that's what hurts them in the end!!
The entire collection is amazing, you’re 100% correct. Even though Omega might stretch themselves a little thin with all the references, they do an great job of offering that one watch that you HAVE to HAVE! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. I did review earlier on the 3 hand one of you want to check it out.
I like this watch. However, the sharp triangle hour markers are off putting to me. I wish they would use markers that are similar to the Omega planet ocean. I guess they don't do that because they're afraid that people will say that it's a straight up copy of the date just. I wouldn't care though. Rolex is just way to expensive and unattainable these days.
I thought this particular design only came with rubber strap. It also have a bracelet option? or that is separate purchase? Thanks.. Thinking of getting one of this.... looks very nice.
This reference only has the rubber strap. You can purchase a steel bracelet for ~$750 USD or there are more references that come with the steel bracelet.
The Lite silver Dial with Blue markers comes with the Bracelet, the Blue one like in this video comes with Rubber strap. I loved the Rubber strap. The Bracelet was nice but it’s highly polished and No micro adjustment on clasp. I don’t think it would be a problem Sizing the bracelet but after I put on the Rubber bracelet on , I was Sold! Hands down liked the rubber better.
Though I think it's a very fine timepiece, I do not have the first hand experience with it. What do you think of durability of the rubber band? Does it wear away fast? or does it last longer than leather straps?
I actually purchased this watch after the review and the rubber strap had a lot to do with that. Naturally rubber should outlast leather but I have only owned it for a short period of time. To me, the build construction and style of the rubber strap is high quality and I expect it to perform for a long time. It has especially been comfortable in high heat situations. Thank you for watching and commenting on our video!
Surely a rubber strap would outlast leather. And from experience, Omega rubber straps are excellent. And they keep getting better with the newer releases like this one.
Not convinced by this small second, also date in that same place makes it feel busy when comparing to other parts of dial. I think I like normal second version more. Also Omegas are too thick imo.
This is one of the only Omega models that is near the same price as it's Rolex counterpart. The diver 300 is about half the price of a Sub, but this Aqua Terra is about 85% the cost of a datejust. I own an AT and its fantastic.
I can personally attest the Omega co axial is way more accurate than the movement used in the Rolex Datejust. Try +1/-1 per day for Omega vs +6 per day for Rolex.
Well it's not the type of "update" that it needs at all, in fact it's another step in the wrong direction for the AT line. They should have simply "updated" it with the two-part wide 12 marker like the original 2002 AT's had, that would make it a great watch again, WTF is wrong at Omega?
many people will ignore that watch including me and why is that?... because Omega to my opinion did a very bad job regarding the design. I don't like that broad arrow is on the minute hand and not on the hour hand,... the texture of the dail is ugly.... I think Omega can learn a lot from their past but they are doing a trouble job...
@@trevorwilliams7089 this is my opinion, I don't like the design of their watches. I don't have any attention to change my opinion it's not that I having something against you...
