Can you give more details to this? I got the CK2998 Pulsometer and are dying to find a 3rd party steel bracelet for them. Omega quoted me a ridiculous amount for their steel bracelet. Thanks.
The Speedmaster Racing bracelet will fit the FOIS, but it’s not cheap. Can you provide the details of the Dan Henry? You said in the video you would, in the comments section, but you haven’t given enough information to actually identify which DH bracelet fits (and DH makes many)
It's an interesting alternative, I own the BB58 but I would love to add this, its the best speedy for the slim of wrist, I think the 58 is more flexible as an everyday watch but to have both would be perfect
Great review. I own both and hands down prefer the 58. First off the 58 has a bracelet available standard which is a plus and I’ve grown to prefer thinner pieces. 14mm thick case is not thin at all , also I don’t think comparing a chrono and diver here is the best play. Personally would compare the FOIS to its Professional counterpart.
Hi Bro, I agree, the Speedy (not just the FOIS) is a great first Luxury Watch. The FOIS is awesome, every time love your B-Roll, the macros and shots of the watch are top notch. I myself am a bigger fan of the regular speedy to be honest but that said its a beauty. Love the Hands and how they separate the small second with the different hand design from the chronograph function sub dials. keep up the great work Bro 👍🏻🙏🏻😊
BTW, why does legibility matter when it comes to the small seconds hand? Who cares... It's a non-hacking movement so it's not like you have to worry about syncing it to a reference. And look closely... Omega did that on purpose for a very specific reason: all hands associated with the time complication are in polished steel, where all hands associated with the chronograph are painted white. It's a small detail Omega thought of that differentiates the hands. Very clever, IMO.
historically one most important speedy and really underrated watch. minute 4:10 --> the watch have silver hand for hour minute and second (time) and white hand for hour minute and second (chronograph)
The Speedmaster isn’t a BB58 ‘big brother’ simply because it’s in the same price range. They aren’t the same watch style or shape, etc. May as well throw the Rolex OP 39 or a Panerai Luminor in. I think you could’ve just reviewed the watch without mentioning Tudor, but just my unnecessary opinion. Thanks for the video.
When most are considering their first luxury watch & they want something vintage Inspired this is a good alternative if someone is looking for one imo. Thanks for watching!
It should have come with a steel bracelet. I like the Ed White but the price is crazy. Maybe if we could get a Ed White without the 321, it'll be a great speedmaster.
Finally you have the FOIS review. I Really enjoy it. Just wondering why you prefer the FOIS over the BB58 because I am between those watches. Hope you can share more thoughts on them. Cheer, TL
Great review. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Good price range to review, considering it is within parameters an enthusiast, without mega-bucks, but wanting something recognizably of quality from a Marquee name, should be evaluating.
For Bracelets check out Forstner Bands...Flat Link and the Komfit. The Komfit mesh bracelet was originally used by NASA in the early 60's...a stepless instantly adjustable watch band is pretty handy for space suits!
Great suggestion for a first luxury watch. My first was the Speedmaster Professional sapphire sandwich. I then added the no date ceramic Sub. Looking at JLC for my third.
Buying the last one my AD has; sent him an email today out of the blue and said he has one in the vault with my name on it if I want it. Calling him tomorrow to complete the deal and ship it my way! I've owned a couple Speedy Pros but honestly, the FOIS has more character in my opinion. You always see the Pro in the wild, whereas I've never spotted an FOIS. The case of the FOIS gives it a much more vintage inspired look and it's a bit dressier, I'm in a suit 4-5 days a week so this is a plus. I usually wear my Speedies on leather anyways so the fact it ships on one is a-OK in my books.
This is great looking watch and perfect for every day type watch. However, Im not sure if this is the same one I’ve seen at a store or if it’s the other, the original moonwatch. But either way, I was struck by how these speedmaster watches to me seem to be a bit on the small size.
I prefer the Professional handset for better legibility. My favorite watch by Omega would be the Railmaster 1957. However I plan to get my 1st Swiss luxury watch soon. Having trouble deciding between a Tudor Black Bay 36 and a (used) Explorer 114270 (as I don't like the dimensions of the larger Explorer). Get the more affordable Tudor or stretch for the more expensive (and used) Explorer - any advice?
But put the explorer on your wrist in the first place. I really liked the explorer. My AD had one ready for me. I tried it on and it was sooo boring. I didn't spend the 5900 € on that. But it's just personal taste.
I was interested to learn recently it wears the same size as the professional. The difference in case size is mostly the lack of crown guards (which makes it easier to wind). Nice review.
My Speedmaster choice would have the enamel dial Speedmaster. It also uses a supposedly better movement base Frederic Piguet 1285 which is the 3313 caliber with the reliable gen 3 co-axial escapements. It is pretty much FOIS aesthetic but enamel. I think it costs 10k retail and somewhere around $7000 pre owned.
@@watchcollectingstrategy www.fratellowatches.com/speedy-tuesday-hands-on-with-the-speedmaster-enamel-dial-50th-anniversary-from-2007/ www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-co-axial-chronograph-44-25-mm-31130445001001 I also forgot to mention that there are 2 versions and both have 100m WR which also one of the problem of the standard speedmaster
I actually like that the sub dial at 9:00 is steel gray to match the hour and minute hands, and those are a different color than the white “stop watch” hands. But I do agree that they could have made it more visible. Perhaps a thin stripe of lume? Gorgeous video, though. Thanks.
I usually like your videos but there’s very little mention of the BB58 or why the omega is a great alternative (diver vs Chrono) except that’s it’s also a great first watch. Simply make a video about another great first watch. Seems like you’re using the BB58 popularity for views instead of making another good video. Thoughts?
He knows. Deserves a slap on the wrist for that. Good video about a boring watch. Speedy professional reduced would have been my choice (for the size and handset)
Hi. Thanks for the review, I often go back to this when I want to revisit the FOIS. Have sent a private mail as well. Please would it be alright if you could share the DH bracelet you mentioned below? Planning to pull the trigger on one (not only for the bracelet if course. It would be a plus if it fits on the FOIS). Buy chance, did the same bracelet work for any of the GS? Cheers.
Great FOIS review and truly awesome that you pointed out that the DH bracelet had fit perfectly. Im likewise considering to buy the FOIS, however, Im likewise a bracelet guy. Please can you share more details about the DH bracelet? Have sent an email. Might buy me the same bracelet or buy the DH timepiece as well. The price of the omega OEM bracelet is ridiculous.

solid video but an advice: you can use "in my opinion", but not THAT often... you kind of need to work on your wording.. no hate to you, but your videography is top notch, but your storytelling and script needs some work to be on the same amazing level. this will dev help you grow even further! cheers!
Ok, CORGEUT MOONWATCH ALIEXPRESS...if you're not interested in homages don't look for it, but for 50 bucks and a Seiko VK mecaquartz movement it's just wonderful and very well finished for the price, I'm in love with it, just till the time you fill comfortable expending 4000 on a watch
