I don't remember much of any of those grades so they might have taught metaphors. If they taught metaphors in 4th grade (for my school) I wasn't there. I just remember 6th grade when the teacher would talk about them. Is like she’s using the baby thing to convey a feeling of vulnerability and having no defenses against everything around you. It’s a picture of this girl growing up and her life not getting better, but staying exactly as crappy as it was before.

I always took the childlike metaphors to be a way of explaining situations/feelings in ways more innocent and happier, (ie, Play Date, Gingerbread Man) and to this day I simply can't see where at any point she sexualized anyone but herself in a way.
