Since they changed the prices, I'm shopping more yard sales and thrift shops, which is better for the planet anyway. Plus, I'm much more likely to find QUALITY items for $3-$5. And my friends and I get to spend time treasure hunting together 😊
@@mrslavanderblu IKR?! Plus $1.25 per each small piece can really add up. Just because something is at the Dollar Store doesn't mean it's necessarily a good value.
She ruined them. I'm a designer and I do a lot of my own finish work. These stickers look cheap and tacky. There are much classier, cost effective ways to bring interest to your stairs. It's going to be ruined in no time, and the adhesive is going to be a nasty mess to remove.
If your walls are not completely flat and have any texture on them the paper won’t make a perfect seal and the humidity will ruin it- take it from me, lol.
Thank you! I felt like the answer to whether it was humidity friendly wasn't really confirmation. It is really humid where I live, and these are really cute, so it is good to know to look out for that if I try it here
They have those "removable" wallpaper sheets in the Dollar tree near me and i bought the kind she put on her stairs, to cover a table i put in my daughter's room and I promise you, it was not removable! It says that but it stuck and would not come off easily. I had to use a blow dryer and a plastic scraper to get it off after about 2 days of having it on the table. I wanted to remove it because i bought a different design roll of removable wallpaper/vinyl online. This is my warning to you to expect that it won't come off!
I used mine on a table also it looks great even though I use the table frequently. I want to change the style since it’s been months but it does seem like it’ll be a hassle to remove
I didn't know they had the transparent window film. I'm going to go look for them! Everything came out really nice.👍 Update: None of my three Dollar Trees carry the transparent liner. 🙁
I bought a huge roll of it from Walmart. It's more than enough to cover two patio sliding doors. The nice thing is it's wide enough to cover a window in one piece. There are lots of designs, but I bought one called tulip and it was $17 for that large amount.
I always have better luck at their larger stores. They seem to have more product and inventory at stores that are bigger than the strip mall sized ones.
@@elizabethstein9698 exactly. I love natural materials. In the bathroom the tacky wallpaper only succeeded in making the room look higher and narrower😳
Our Family Dollar store is really good! The quality of many of their items is comparable to items I've bought elsewhere! It's our Dollar Tree that isn't all that its cracked up to be!
We have so many dumpy dollar trees by me. I’ve only come across a few of them that were decent but not as nice as some I’ve seen in RU-vid videos. By where my sister lives in Massachusetts, they even have a super dollar tree but honestly, it doesn’t look that much different either. I would really love to go to a really nice dollar tree but I haven’t seen one yet.
Worth noting, if it's a very small project, the dollar tree stick on wallpaper is great, but anything bigger than 6 square feet, it's cheaper to order online. Most sites have sample rolls for $5 plus shipping, and it's going to be more sq footage than the dollar tree squares for the same price, plus more variety and better quality
At least it's removable.... Some folks just thrive on frequently changing or rearranging their living spaces, even when they're fine & functional to start with. Also, there's a billions-dollar home decor industry based on convincing ppl they need to "update" their home as often as they "need" new clothing & electronics. «shrug» More spare $$ than I've ever had 🤓
I hope you know that when you do put this on. It is not that easy to get off. The longer it stays all the while when you pull it off. It leaves the white residue its sticky part behind.
Curious to know how it would hold up on a table. Maybe you would need to seal it so it can last longer, but then that might be the exact opposite of what you want😅
I put that privacy window stuff up and when the sun comes through it's really quite beautiful bc the leaves of a tree are also directly outside the window. I really love Dollar Store decor. I have their wall sticker flowers all over the wall and ceiling above and around my bed. It's dreamy!
Just a tip for those staircase/decorative papers: you can use a bone folder for more accuracy. Yes, it's cheaper to use your nails, but I noticed people tend to mess the paper up with their nails
@@simonewilliams8274 Glad you asked! It's usually used in leather craft and card making, but it's basically a tool that functions as a very long and pointy finger, which lets you do folds, creases, etc. in an accurate manner. They're usually made of bones or plastic. Personally, I prefer bone as it's more sturdy and doesn't bend like their plastic counterpart, but that's only because I work with leather 😁 Hope that helps
@@christopherfeatherleyI think, for this purpose, one could use a gua sha tool in lieu of a proper bone folder? Which more people might have in their home - & might be found at a local dollar store!
@@tipper6733A can of spray contact cement (glue) should go a long way to solving that issue. It’s used by maintenance workers in apartments to do wallpaper repairs in high traffic hallways and offices. It should stand up to the moisture in bathroom or kitchen applications. 👍🏽 Available at any big box home improvement store, or painters supply store.
I just did this for my laundry room...the dollar store and dollar tree have removable wall stickers as well for those who want to add to room themes with word designs.
I think this is a great idea and this transformation looks amazing! I do however wonder how this wallpaper holds up to temperature change, particularly in your bathroom if you're showering will it withstand the steam?
I don't think I would put that wallpaper over stairs that looked as good as yours, but my risers are a little messed up so this would be a great option to painting them. 👍
@@cosmoloveshoneyno, 😂😂😂 excuse me....thats like slamming holes into the wall punching it then leaving and saying Oh whats the issue? NAH YOU DAMAGED THE RENTAL BY PUTTING STICKERS ALL OVER IT. You people are not only stupid but so lazy 😂❤
@@internetperson.Uh its not out of respect or similar to those. If its a rental you have no right to put stickers all over it without asking permission. Same concept if you paper-mache the freaking kitchen because youre an idiot on tiktok. You applied it with your own stupidity why should the next guy have go fix your idiot actions? A rental isnt communal you half wit, a shared microwave is not equivalent to your personal private living area 😂😂😂 your Mom and Dad are 100 bro and sister I can tell.
Put nothing on that beautiful wood😮 Love the others tho. How cool the windows . I love it. Ive bought it. Expensive. Ima looking for that. Thank you ❤🎉
I’m literally just got done doing a backdrop in my kitchen from the dollar tree peeling pieces. I changed it from my old black and white backdrop to baby blue and white. I ❤it. I’m just traumatized that they changed the pricing from EVERYTHING being a dollar to what it all costs now. 😢. Dollar Tree has always been my lil secret favorite spot. My friends and family have been amazed at the Decor meanwhile I’m cheesing ear to ear in my head thinking 💭 If only they knew 🤫🤭
Traumatized? I mean, have you noticed that EVERYWHERE is affected by price increases? What makes you think they wouldn't be? It's a quarter.. thankfully, they didn't do 50 cents .. no, seriously. 😢
We used these wallpaper sheets to decorate the shelves in my daughters locker. They had several prints to choose from at my location. We chose a faux marble look and she loved it.
All the projects look awesome. So does the wallpaper come off easily or is it like the normal wallpaer on the roll where you need to wet it to come off?
Before trying to peel off, first, use a blow dryer, it softens the adhesive, otherwise, the paint or dry wall could come off with the sheet. OR, I saw this in Alexandra Gator's RU-vid channel. They covered the entire area with painter's tape. Made removing much easier and stuck better as well. For some reason, the paper would not stick: may have been due to a rough surface, I just don't remember.
@@traceykoontz2868 Here's a tip for any type of peel and stick product that you want to try... If you want to ever be able to remove it without a hassle, then make sure that the painted surface is not a flat paint!! Eggshell is probably the easiest paint finish to remove peel and stick products relatively hassel free!!
Was just looking at the bathroom window the other day and I remember asking myself how they were made. That Dollar Tree private window design is really 'Wow!'👌
Omg the Mercy catfish I couldn’t believe it!! the guy got a ring 💍.. I can’t.. Bless his heart, this Adam guy’s such a sweetheart hope he finds love he’s so deserving of it.
If you are doing a large space I suggest looking for wallpaper suitable for that space. For example grease/water resistant paper for the kitchen or bathroom areas. Also it may be cheaper by the roll than buying by the pieces at the dollar tree. Also better patterns 😊.
I would have switched the wallpapers. The wood on the stairs goes well with the floral design. And the other one is just classy and nice against white.
I agree with you Idk why but I feel the strips may look better with the length of the bathroom wall But it’s design/art and it’s always in the eye of the beholder 😊
@@caramiasommers8076 "My way" isn't better but what I said is logical. And yes these wallpaper tiles are really economical, manageable, and look great.
Sorry, but floral on the stairs would make no sense whatsoever. The blue one she used brings tile work to mind, but the floral would just look like the inside of a drawer with contact paper.
For the people saying it wont last, i used peel and stick tiles for my bathroom sink backsplash and that was back in 2021 and it still looks perfect.. but it wasnt paper, it was the thicker sheet that actually has the texture of tile on it and looks almost like real tile. those ones are at dollar tree and dollar general too and im shocked at how great they are
Use a blow dryer or heat gun to remove it. Once you remove it and if the sticky is still there, get goo gone to spray on sticky. Wait for few minutes and then wipe off with hot soapy water. Lot of work, I have done this for my friend.
Ask ur landlord first!!! They may like it and want you to leave it when u go. But anything sticky, esp on wood or any porous surface, may be a nightmare to remove .
@@shirmeymckamey9386 Lol...and those adhesives are absolute nightmares! I'm not sure the purpose of this stuff... Decorating stairs elegantly... Get some pretty brass stair dust corners, or a stair runner with rods. If she's going for "cheap", she's achieved it.
@@belajadevotchka2 yes. I totally agree. Takes a nice, rather elegant in simplicity staircase and takes it back to the 70's horror wild wallpaper and floor tile days that make you dizzy and nauseous to look at them. Lol. Please don't do that again ms. blogger. Once was enough. Next it will be Avocado green fridges and stoves😳🤣🤣🤣
Stop calling it "Dollar Tree". It is now "$1.25 Tree", because EVERYTHING costs $1.25, not $1 anymore. Very CUTE ideas too, my fav is the window for privacy, yet let's light in. Thank you for sharing. 👌🏻💯
@@girly068I highly doubt they'll change the store name every time there is a huge change in inflation. Maybe once and do "Dollar Tree +" 🤷♀️ There are some dollar trees that have a "$5" section now...😳 though I've yet to see one of them.
Never seen a store change their name becuase of their prices 🫢 . Lighten up a little . 1.25 who cares ? Inflation is a thing u kw. Thanks to joe dollar isnt worthless.
I’ve done that for my windows. Great solution. What was done to the stairs isn’t so great. Just the mess and hassle we’ll end up with when we’re over that look wanting something else.
You'd save so much time & effort by just buying a 10/15$ roll of peel & stick... Speaking of I used it behind my stove for a temporary backsplash...nope, the steam, etc has it coming up. The bathroom looks great, just as long as there's no shower in there 😊
Something that everyone needs to know: it’s OK if you’re not one of those women who says “I knew I didn’t want to have children from when I was 6 years old”. It’s OK to be 32 years old and make the decision because you were optimistic and still had high hopes for bringing them here. It’s OK to look around you at your situation and the society at large and change your mind. To evaluate your surroundings and what you have to offer yourself and your child and make an informed decision is the most responsible and mature thing you can do.
Did this with ceramic tiles on risers in three homes. Luv it. It looks great and people can see their stepping better as well. It is also easy to clean.
I used this wallpaper in my classroom at work and it warped the wall behind it because it held onto moisture, and it took forever for me to peel/scrape off because it just kept shredding. Please pass this one up yall
Keeping in mind .... Even if it's the same company , every outlet has DIFFERENT products . Even in similarity , they still are different . Shop as needed .
I wish they sold the frosted privacy screen without the old looking flower design. They sell it on Amazon without the design and it’s gorgeous but I would love for it to be at my local Family Dollar.
