It's so weird but cool to see a reference to Mickey in Smash. Sakurai said they would never have non video game originating characters in Smash so that makes it so wild to see.
@@sjue316 There's nothing to think about now. He is in the battle now. During the battle passes people still joked saying he wouldn't make it. Which remember, all the fighters were decided before the game was released.
@@mr.l3992 Again. You don't understand the red tape, but go ahead and be a dumbfuck. Do you want to know why they didn't announce the entire battle pass at the beginning like most companies do? It's because of all the licensing. If the licensing fell through and they announced him before. People would have been pissed had they had to backtrack on it. You're right. They did know who they wanted in before, but they still had to get the licensing in place before they could even work on the character. Hence why they spread out some of the easier characters for them to get with some of the more challenging. FYI, all the Square-Enix characters are a nightmare to deal with. I'm not knocking him being in the game. Happy and surprised, but he's licensing hell as a character.
I mean, the signs are there. - 13 days after the stream he gets released. - Sora is the 13th DLC character (assuming Mythra is separate from Pyra) - Sora is getting released on Version 13.0
@@SpideyfanX also if you watch the trailer you can make out a poem “Colors weave into a spire of flame Distance sparks into a video a past still unnamed Bear this torch into the cold of the night Search your soul and reawaken the undying light” Sounds familiar
@@octavia8836 Can't we all just apreciate how much Sakurai must have begged Disney for this? It's not a sword character, it's *the* sword character, the one we all believed it was impossible to get but we hoped against all odds to one day have him here, and Sakurai made it happen cause he knew how much we loved him.
Sora was the only light to save everyone from the darkness. (Darkness took the hearts from everyone hence why they were toys again.) “There’s a light, that never goes out!”
If that’s intentional, that’s actually pretty clever. I didn’t think about it deeply enough. I just assumed that the figures were to make people think it was Master Hand, and the flame was to make people think Dark Souls as a fake out
So...no Bayonetta was not the most requested character. They even stated that her reveal. She was number 5 in the US and 1 in Europe. They also had an asterisk on her presentation saying realizable and negotiable. Meaning she was the easiest to get at the time. Hence why she "won" the ballot. While Sora was the top, he was also the most difficult due to not only having to go through Square-Enix, but also Disney.
Nah, if you read the little disclaimer in her trailer, it specifies that she was the number 1 REALIZABLE fighter, meaning that she was just the easiest one to get access to among the top choices
@@Xeno_Solarus Yeah, I don’t think anyone could have seen the locking on and half of the aerial combat they implemented. They did a damn good job with his move set.
Gotta love how everyone slike Doom guy deconfirmed and yet he is still in the game as a mii costume unlike others like Master Chief or Crash bandicoot.
He got all the original Kingdom Hearts references in there but still didn't have any direct Disney characters, music or references besides the keychain. The keychain was the only direct reference in this. Perhaps that was how Sakurai managed to do it. Disney still stingy with their properties and copyright laws.
Both of you are wrong lol. SE is an independent company, not owned by Disney. Sora is in fact owned by Disney. Disney could literally do whatever the fuck they want with Sora, but they don't since they like to keep the relationship with SE, and specifically Nomura, good. Square is purely responsible for creating and publishing the games, but in terms of ownership, Sora (and every other Kingdom Hearts original thing) is in Disney's ownership. There is a reason why Sakurai said that Sora needed more coordination to put in the game, since if Sora was purely SE owned, they could've either changed the keychain on the Keyblade to something that isn't a reference to Mickey Mouse or they could've given him a different Keyblade all together.
I love seeing everyone's reaction to Sora's ledge game off stage with Banjo. Managing to hit him 3 seperate times, getting the kill, and still making it back to the stage 😂
After watching the presentation so many times, I think that they legit used every character in the Sora showcase when they were showing all his moves...the whole cinematic was very symbolic of "Smash fading from reality to dying" as development stops for it...like Smash Ultimate is done, so all the characters are getting ready to be put away as their statues bc we're "done" with Smash...but the light from Sora breathed life into the game for one last DLC...it's too poetic and sad when you think about Smash ultimate being over 😭😭😭
When they revealed Bayonetta, they did mention that she was the most requested character for Smash that was realizable at the time (meaning she was the most requested character on the ballot that they were allowed to bring into the game). And, since they still haven't revealed the complete ballot scores yet or who was even where (outside of Sora and Bayonetta, who was the top character in Europe and in the top five overall worldwide), there could still be some ballot mentions in the Smash game after Ultimate (or they may not ever reveal it after making the promise to Mr. Iwata.
@@treger4383 doomguy is awesome, but honestly he might’ve been a zoner character no one likes, so him getting represented through a mii outfit is probably for the best.
I feel like in a lot of reactions, people don't notice it's a keyblade until the Mickey keychain pops up, I feel like I saw it right away, tho maybe it's just me lol
I mean being fair, the thing being on fire and people being tired from the usual early-morning smash reveals probably doesn't help. Most would probably notice now that they know it's Sora.
I remember being in middle school when 64 cane out my friend brought his cart in for me to borrow because he couldn't beat Ness to unlock him so he wanted me to try cause i was the best in video games in the class Now im a whole middle aged adult with a family and house getting worked by my 14 year old son in Ultimate.
Yeah Simple and Clean is just a regular-ass song lol. Even after all this year's it's kind of hard to think of it as anything else but "KH1's theme" but it was a regular tune first.
its crazy...I just keep tearing up when I see Sora.. ; n; I just love this trailer man. I need to replay KH1 on the switch..but I should finish KH3 first.
Sakurai saying that you could go from middle to high school throughout this game's journey made me feel so hard.. I heard about ultimate getting released back when I was in sixth grade and ever since then this game was my favorite. It's sad to see it go now but at least I can enjoy the game at its final form.
You've been my favorite Smash personality (even though I'm just casual and wouldn't consider Smash to be one of my favorite games, but whatevs lol). I never took Smash as one of my serious interests since I don't really like the nature of competitive gaming, and I've never even played a lick of Kingdom Hearts, but when I saw this trailer I started crying because... Etika would've loved this.
I'm not into smash, like a tall but I've always watched the reveals and directs just because Sakuari is awesome and I always loved seeing him funny and sweet and was like a dad showing his kid something he did with such excitement I'm honestly kinda sad its ending
I only wish a certain someone could have been here for this. I don't know if you was a fan of the series or not but the simple fact of it being which character it is it would have been an amazing reaction.
21:45 that Sonic Blade move made me realise that Sora could be Bayonetta with a keyblade XD Edit: So it's gonna be over after Sora is playable at 18th October.......... Well, everything has to end someday...
Let's be honest here. If Sora COULDN'T just spend all match flying around with ease, it wouldn't feel like Sora lmao. But he's even lighter than Isabella. He's gonna go fucking flying if he gets hit at all lmao. I'm. Excited.
If you notice, even the Mickey emblem part of the Keychain is not in the actual game. Not a single reference to anything Disney in the actual game, only the trailer.
For Byaonetta yes. But Sora is just straight up the most requested. For Bayonetta they said "The most voted for that's realizeable", but Sora they said he was the one with the most votes period.
Bayo was the most requested "Realizable" fighter, Sora was the true winner but they didn't want to say they couldn't get him in for legal reasons because they knew people would pester disney and square and hurt their chances of working with them and cause them trouble, which they wanted to avoid. Bayo may not have been the most requested, but I believe them when they say she was the most popular of the realizable characters (I'm sure Shrek and Goku beat her in the US too, but it's unfair to act like she was unwanted now, just because people found out he was the winner).
The thing with people complaining about the counter is that the counter is from said game, like for instants, little mac has a counter because it's from his game. People think they just put counters on a character just to make a character op.
I almost didn’t click on this reaction video because your face in the thumbnail looked kinda disappointed and I was wanting to watch hyped reactions. But it was on auto play and I just let it go and I’m glad I did! Great reaction!
