He says that he struggles with overwhelm in his task manager and for that reason works of a paper list but at the same time creates 50+ tasks just for morning and evening routines! Holy shit!
I don't even have a Mac but this is so satisfying to watch. Also thank you so much for your video with Thomas Frank on Notion. It helped so much with organising my own Notion setup!
I switched from Omnifocus to Things, mostly because OF for me is like killing flies with a shotgun. Nothing bad to say about OF - in fact, one BIG plus is the wealth of available 3rd party resources - both paid and free - that help you figure out how to use the tool.
It’s good to realize what tools work for you. While I’ve landed on OF because it works with how I think more, other apps and workflows will work better for others. I’m glad you’ve found Things to be effective for you!
You can make OF as simple as you want. Even down to the level of Things. I do agree: you have to figure that out and that takes effort where Things just is.. Things.
Out of all workflows I watched, this one is the most practical and real world. Appreciate the ideas. Many others workflows I watched are kinda anal if it makes sense.
OF seems like a great way to organize your life and projects if what you care about most is the ability to organize your life and projects, instead of doing things.
Well, thats part of the GTD philosophy. You either run your life from memory or you 100%..ok 99% delegate it to 'a system'. Something in between will simply backfire on you eventually. I choose to do the latter a few years ago.. and it's crazy what happens when you use your brain solely for problem solving and coming up with new ideas while delegating things to the level of 'cleaning your desk' . Try it.
