@@davidwolff8903 Trawl fishing isn't sustainable. I live in a fishing town and have seen the depletion of the fish stocks. I've also been out on a couple of trips and I can tell you it's pretty poor when you pull up 5ton and keep 1.... the rest goes back dead every 6hrs. Here we have a quota system which isn't worth a pile of sauce!!.. The fish still get caught... they just pick and choose what they can sell or what has the best price and throw the rest back... I expressed my view to a close family friend who's father is a trawl skipper and he replied " Lucky he wasn't out with me yesty when I threw back $5k worth of shark "... Have you watched the E.I.S Alaska boys?... I think they do it much better!!!...
@@josephbennett728 Lived in a trawler port for 40yrs... I've been out on them and seen what goes on. I know skippers of boats who tell me what goes on. I know what they use to catch in 24hrs in the past and what it takes them a week to catch now!!... BS?.. I know dam well it isn't!!!... Weeks ago 1 skipper I know threw back dead $5k of shark.. Are you telling us that a dragged trawl net is selective in what it takes? So where's the BS?..
