I love that sing song thing! I used to do this in school too. We had one teacher in third grade who taught us all kinds of rhymes. This is very useful for memory. I learned so much in just two videos! I can't wait to practice with Haitian people.

I have no complaints. His work has been mediocre. If you are serious about learning creole I suggest sweetcoconuts.blogspot.com/?m=1 ; the website has some of the best material online.

Hello there. My daughter has been chosen to act as miss Haiti for the UN day. Part of which is her need to make an introoduction in Hatian Creole where she has to say " good afternoon, I am natasha eileen delgado representing haiti." We were wondering if it was possible for you to help is out by translating the introduction above and if its not too much to ask.

A huge salute to you my brother! You're doing an awesome job, but sorry, the Haitian Language is no creole. A creole is an inferior oral communication pidgin that borrows incomplete forms of oral expressions from other languages or sometimes dialects for immediate and quick verbal exchange. Creoles drive no specific cultural elements, no clear grammatical thought process, no grammar regulating standard structure, no clear and defined spelling, no dictionary, no literature, no written production. So those of us who study and fall in love with the haitian language call it the HAITIAN, not creole. I AM HAITIAN, I SPEAK HAITIAN. let's start calling it Haitian

I appreciate that sentiment my friend. I believe that current understanding of languages makes a distinction between a Creole and a pidgin. What you’re describing is more akin to a pidgin than a Creole. A Creole is a full-fledged language with its own grammar, orthography, native-born speakers etc.. and it is also a vehicle for advancing and promoting the culture of its speakers through various means. The Creole part is just a historical pointer to its origins. Creoles in general are fascinating. The incorporation of various language elements from different languages to give birth to a new one is an opportunity to learn more about language formation and development. Being that it’s one of the most spoken of the new languages (last 400 years you said), we as Haitians can appreciate it as such and sell it to the world as such no matter what we choose to call it. IMHO.
