Today, I visit the Just Kampers warehouse. But with just a week until the VolksWorld Show, we really need to get the Beetle up and running! Did we do it? Thanks again to Just Kampers for helping us with this recommission! www.justkamper...

It’s really cool how leisurely you approach these projects even that white elephant of a 356! How many months and years do have you already invested in that project. I am hoping that you finish the ‘55 beetle soon lor at least by year’s end.

That brings back memories of when I worked in a sheet metal shop. I had a turreted Pierce All, The favorite tool was the louver vent punch. Always kept a few for would be Customizers. What a cracking warehouse.

Took my '72 bay into the Farnborough North Camp garage for a new clutch and parts. Born in Odiham and grown up around there so seen them grow. Didn't realise they made parts. Excellent. And another great video.

Very cool reviving an old car and getting it back on the road. It looks like with the LED's in the semaphores it's now got a fast blink. You might look for a flasher that's made for LEDs since they don't draw as much current. I did that when I converted my Mini to all LED.

Maybe that’s the camera, it flashes just as it should, The beetle doesn’t have a flasher relay as the original semaphores never flashed, the circuit that makes the new bulbs flash is in the new clever just kampers bulbs!

Great job on the rescue. What it is interesting to me is that you fellows call it an oval because of the rear window marking it a '55'. Here in the US the split rear window didn't disappear until '57'. The things we don't know even when we grew up working on these bugs in the fifties and sixties.

That was fantastic and even more so in light of what Sarah-N-Tuned showed about the dismal quality of many aftermarket VW beetle parts. They were unusably bad but it's inconceivable that the JK people would ever sell something that didn't work exactly as intended, so now there is an alternative. When people make a business out of a personal passion, it tends to have a world leading result, as long as they have a proper understanding of the subject. I won't go off on that tangent but I'm sure you know wheat I mean. 😉

Dom you are so right about doing your own maintenance making you more confident driving the car. I was always comfortable driving beetles and aircooled buses, even though they would occasionally break down to varying degrees. A job like a clutch change only needed a trolley jack, a socket set and a morning of work. Now I've got modern sensible cars I am constantly dreading something going wrong with them. ECU problems mainly...

Woke on a Monday morning to this very enjoyable video. My dad had a '59 beetle which he went & sold just before l obtained my license, so I never got to drive it! Grrr! Maybe one day I’ll hope to own one. Btw, what’s become of the Coffee defender? Are the owners planning to use it this coming summer there? Keep up the great work, both of you!
