I worked for Xerox Business Services in the 1980s, when they received the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality award. I participated in an interview with the MBNQ people who asked me "what is quality?" Though different than the intention of Pirsig's project, the standard corporate definition is almost helpful: Meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
I wonder if early man saw trees and thought they came before him or somehow were caused by him. I would think the former, since he would see there was no evidence of his own abilities to do so. Time is very helpful in understanding quality apparently. You mention how we really like a new song for a few weeks or months but then lose our appreciation of it, possibly because we have applied everything we currently know about it at the time. Recently, utube recommended a song by the Baby’s “Every Time iThink of You” so I give it a listen and instantly remember it from its overplaying on the radio years ago which I didn’t really care too much for. For some reason now it is such a great song and I notice in the guitar solo they change to violins halfway through which is surprisingly delightful now. I don’t know what happened between now and the last time I heard it, but I know the passing of time had something to do with it. Perhaps this is why King David would only get relief from his older years pain by singing the songs of his youth, because anything he learned in his life would have brought greater quality/ meaning to it. Bitcoin is un-see able... untouchable... unstoppable .. born from the intellectual pattern layers.. pulled into the eco-societal layers adding value in a real value-transfer role. exhibiting self sovereignty of ownership in a religious sense
@@bradrandel1408 well yes as long as at least 2 Bitcoin nodes have electricity on the planet.. then the ledger - blocks.. holding my balance, will re-generate to other nodes as they come back on line. mind you.. if there is only 2 Bitcoin nodes(computers) left on the planet.. then I doubt there will be many humans left to enjoy anything.. cant play golf.. too much radiation on the course.
we are all just conscious end-points.. like cycling mandelbrot sets of color(halos).. that see hear feel touch data from objects n subjects that were once thought of & pulled down from the intellect layers by other end points. we(most) therefore assume we are trapped until a 'death' event, in that object subject world... but in true truth reality we simply then have a 'appear' event.. that we naively call 'birth' ... with new fresh priories of the new mind. therefore.. assume not a prison of objects n subjects but you are a Quality end-point effervescent mandelbrot set using & creating objects n subjects n not quiet aware in observation of oneself and others that what you think is reality is nothing more than consensus of priories of other end points.. ie what others see n taste is real is what you see n taste.. therefore its is a false reality by consensus. the 'tell' that it is not real.. is that yes the not-so static ice cream organic pattern you taste is not the exact same taste your friend has.
