HMMMM personally I Say Naz was good. Not a. Ali. Dempsey Eubanks benn etc etc. They where pedigrees. Jokes a side. Seriously on a serious note. He was only GOOD. But if. Ifffff he had actually took up the rematch against BARRERA. (who amir khan smashed) and won? Then ok. I’d say personally he’s in with the Dempsey Tyson etc cloth. But shame he didn’t. 😉😎 And would have been amazing if he stuck to his word. And meant what he said. (IF I LOOSE) I will train harder and come back. But he just deflated after a good fight. 12rs lasted. Also was 2plus st heavier a day before the fight. And had to stay up all night trying to loose the weight. But then 1 can say. Well ok. If that’s the case. Then he was money hungry. And glory hungry. And just so arrogant. That he thought even at his. Worse. He can beat the worlds best at that time. Who was also known as. baby 👶 face assassin???? What ever it was. And he was. He was and did pack the arenas made you watch weather you like him or not. But would have been like I said. Amazing to see him rematch so ppl and today’s youth say yep 👍 he d man brv. He lost ok. But came back and smashed Barrera. Bs happens. You all decide. Adios 💯✅😉
He said he wanted a rematched with Barrera. He turned yellow and refused to fight him again. He is a lier,as long as he had it his way,he was all macho, but he couldn't come back from a defeat, all mouth and no courage . The Prince of cowards!!
Prince naseem hamed you are truly a boxing legend no one can box like you can I adore you you are the best fighter ever I watch you're fights nearly everyday you are an icon I love you that much you are a lovely person inside and out love ya nas
Naseem was awesome. I wont lie, he used to annoy me, but now I see he was just being himself and trying to entertain. Boxing needs someone like him or Mayorga when Pacquiao leaves.
What a legend, I found out about Prince at the end of his career but man he had my attention. I liked the way he would brag about himself with that British accent. It was classic
No other boxer of that time created that kind of excitement and enterainment, and won most of the 30 fights in good style, just had never been seen in a british ring, great talent in england. Made it up their in the top of boxing humble beginings
he had a tremendous talent. it's just that he was careless and irresponsible. and it seems he can handle himself pretty well, i guess all that bragging and showmanship was to sell the fights
Many fans scoff now at Hamed, so one-sided and humbling was his points loss to the great Marco Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas in 2001. It ruined him as a fighter and performer but it doesn't erase what he got done before that night; namely, whipping good solid fighters such as Tom Johnson, Manuel Medina, Wayne McCullough, Kevin Kelley, Wilfredo Vazquez and Paul Ingle. And losing to Barrera, who surely will be viewed by history as one of the great featherweights, is no embarrassment. (HBO)
Well water mature interview he was certainly a fantastic entertainer had he been around today boxing would be in a very healthy place. Smart guy made the money and moved on
One of the greatest fighter and entertainer of all time, I feel that he retired at the right time and didnt ruin his legacy like Roy Jones Jr, who relied on his reflexes, speed, and as soon as he lost it he retired at the right time, unlike Roy who is continue to get knocked out and ruin his legacy.
@@blackhoodie4170 i already had a lot of respect for him after his stellar career but i found that the amount of clinching by jones was just annoying in a heavy weight exhibition match and i too did enjoy it greatly to be able to see such legends when i never thought i would even if it was dissapointing that tyson didnt win or throw any signature haymakers or just a head punch or two
Training soo dam hard to become boxer and these silly questions why you got soo many cars why you got soo much money why why why mans need to do one boxing circuit session then they will shut the f up!!
He was disliked at the latter end of his relationship with Brendan Ingle. He wouldn’t let youngsters in the ring with him. He let everyone know he was the best. He was no doubt the best but his arrogance and attitude and behaviour made him disliked by many in the gym.
He brought huge amounts of entertainment into boxing and he could back it up but he should have been smarter against Barrera cos he knew exactly what nas was going to do which was knock him out with every punch.
I absolutely dislike his boxing character. But I totally get what he says in this interview. I might be wrong. But I feel like he just chose to have a different character and personality for the sake of his boxing career. It's like he wants audience to hate him and watch him to lose, a career based on controversy. While he might have been a lot more humble outside the ring. Again I might be wrong. But in this interview he spoke with a lot of sense.
I wouldnt say best fighter ever, he was the best entertainer of his time in the ring and best fighter in his league. the phrase "best fighter ever" belongs to someone else
@widerthanone Its very easy to pick on someone who does something differently. The reason boxing is so boring is because no-one creates, no-one invents. There are 2 styles and everyone shares them. Its fucking tedious, have some respect for the guy doing things differently and beating up real contenders while doing it.
Anyone who watched this, Naz fan or not, he got beat and did he come back? No he fought a 2nd tear fighter and then gave up. Roy jones, Bernard hopkins, and so on have had losses, they carry on. Even as Hamed metioned Ali he came back, what did Hamed do? Hes gona live with giving up when the going got tough.
@rainxxxx Fraud? of his 36 win 10 of those came against world champions. Going into the Barrera fight he was universally looked upon as the guy to beat at 126 lbs. As for his showmanship, that was a stroke of genius. If you brought a ticket to a Hamed fight It didn't matter whether you loved it or hated it, as long as you paid for it. Hamed made you want to watch.
He is not a legend, otherwise what do you call Duran and Chavez, kings of the boxing world. You need to get your thinking cap,on right. The prince quite boxing out of fear.
@@apolonioramon7089 Me? You're the one getting all butthurt over something I wrote a decade ago, that I still stand by. BTW: *drops mic * www.ibhof.com/pages/about/inductees/modern/hamed.html
@rainxxxx You made no sense. When did he ever cry? Seriously. As a matter of fact, Hamed was just as gracious a loser as he was a winner in the post fight interview. 36 wins 1 loss (which it seems you can't get over) and 30 KO's. Give the man his due. Don't simply hate on his showmanship.
@rainxxxx No other featherweight in boxing history has made as much money as Hamed. The dude had no need to continue fighting. On numbers alone, he will be going into the Hall of Fame. Sadly, Barrera continues to trudge along in the ring. In a sport as unforgiving as boxing, it would make alot more sense in following the "apple crumb's" example. He got out at the right time and can live off of compounding interest. BTW: Is Barrera still president of Golden Boy Mexico?
Sad he retired so early was a great fighter would have beaten barerra if he had trained properly truth is he became to arrogant and believed he was unstoppable and he couldn't cope with losing a sad end I miss the days he was fighting
@rainxxxx Stats mean shit? You're kidding, right? If that's the case, then how exactly have you been judging fighters? Last time I checked, numbers don't lie.
He leaps he sleeps. luckily he didnt face enough elite boxers so he wasnt tested. He was so off balance and even more so when he got hit. He just looked amateurish but obviously was much better than the boxers his weight at that time in Britain.
I trained with Naseem, and sparred hundreds of hours with him in Sheffield, I didn't ever have a problem hitting him, he was always a loud mouthed obnoxious arrogant individual, I always knew that if he ever faced a skilled person with focus and tenacity he would be finished, The story at the time was that Bob Arum of HBO American boxing promoter who Naseem was contracted to told Naseem that if he didn't fight a credible world contender he was going to cancel Naseems contract. Marco Antonio Berrera went further and cancelled Naseems career 👍🙏
36-0, 10 of those against champions, ain't hype. Anyone who says something like that is obviously a hater who is letting his feelings cloud his judgement
