Eubank remained respectable and is still an excellent physical specimen. Naz got sent down for dangerous driving and subsequently turned into a talking cheeseburger.
u hit the nail on the head there ok naz fought plenty of boxers along the way but whne he came up against Barrera he was outboxed the better man won on the night and I for one was very glad to see that happen naz showed off quite a lot in the ring ok its what he did to get the crowd going but his time was up when he fought Barrera.
He beat Kevin Kelly Wayne mccullough augie Sanchez Steve Robinson youngest Britains World champion and a good entertainer to go with it he was fucked in the barrera fight with his hand problems and he was exhausted making the weight the day before the fight naz was no joke
@@euphemiakathleenmacdonald2970 didn’t want a rematch to put the record straight though did he…unlike Eubank. He was a real warrior…proved it many times…imagine choosing to fight Benn a second time…! That’s why, love or hate him, Chris is still respected wherever he goes, despite his funny ways. Naz doesn’t draw a crowd anymore, he is the crowd…!
@@jezedwards3858 he made his money he didn't want a rematch he wanted to spend time with his family you can't fault him for that if Brendan ingle was in his corner for the first fight it would have been a different fight
Eubank was a warrior he was in sum of the toughest fights ever were as max wasn’t a proper champ he quit and retired soon as he lost that’s not a champion to me
@@mrclever7742 I get your point but wouldn't you rather see a fighter earn their legacy, then stop when the time is right? Rather than not knowing when to stop and taking unnecessary losses like Jones Jr.? I wish we saw more of Naz, but I respect his decision to quit when he knew he was outclassed.
Well regardless of this argument, I always found Eubanks to be a very brave boxer who despite a somewhat ungainly style always gave his all. I never saw a dull Chris Eubank fight. He was always trying.
DIZZYGIT I don't think so. Eubank Sr. is still built solidly and probably still full of muscle, though obviously not as defined. Naz is just a featherweight covered in fat while Eubank Sr. has a super middleweight frame.
Naz was a great boxer technically switching from orthodox to southpaw and made Kelly and Boom Boom Johnson who were great look fools. Only problem was Naz's ego was bigger than his skill set. Eubank is a fuckin legend.
bollocks naz will go down in history. am not saying eubank was shite far from it he would certainly be a world champion if he was in his prime today maybe even towards the end of career he would still dominate todays fighters but naz had the wow factor
Naz and Eubank One of those fighters is talented, but also a hype job who cherry picked his opponents until the end when he faced his only real challenge. The other is a legendary all time great.
Eubank was never the same fighter after the battle with Michael Watson. He never had the urge to finish off opponents after Michael was so severely injured. I was always a big fan of Eubank. I cannot say the same of Naz however.
I met eubank at victoria train station - I approached him to say hello and he stopped what he was doing, shook my hand and talked to me for 5 minutes. He missed his train as a result, didn't bother him he carried on speaking to me for another t minutes and was a completely engaging and gentlemanly person. I met Hamed in London - I approached him to say hello, he told me to go away and walked off. I know who the prick is and who the gentleman is, and can guess who was in the right and wrong re: their disagreements.
eubank wasnt arrogant hes just got a lot of self confidence.why is the trainer of naz getting louder and louder while chris is still kind and in control of his emotions! Eubank was one of the best fighters ever!
Check out the clip of Eubank on Sky Sports recently where they show a clip of Naz at 15 years old, all starry eyed, watching Eubank flipping over the top rope. Hamed was always one of those boxers who listened too much to his own publicity. A good entertainer and a decent technician but not a good enough fighter to operate at the very top level.
@@kevindurand3237 You're right. That comment came across poorly. (It eas 8 years ago) I'm not going to try to double down on it other than to say that there are levels. Naz was a fantastically gifted boxer. And an entertaining world champion. The people he beat, he humiliated. So I didn't mran to disrespect him. But all the time he was world champion, Barrera was around and was better than him. A lot better. Levels.
Exactly! Its friggin common sence! For hamed to say he's a 'nice guy'? well, I've heard some good jokes in my time but that? that takes the biscuit!PFFT
Chris Eubank is one of those rarities in sport- a colourful character. I lived in Brighton for many years and he used to roll up to the pier in his juggernaut truck to get fish and chips for his kids- fukin hilarious. Oh yes, and he cd box a bit too.
Good perspective made on the too fighters. Here is what I take of it. Eubank was never the same fighter post the Watson fight that is clear for all to see. However the Eubank Benn fights showed each fighter were great middle weights for there time. Naseem was a good fighter and a polite person in his early years (watch the parkinson interview) Money fame and a change of life do not go hand in hand it can easily be the downfull as we so often witness with many a personality.
@jason60152 It is nice that there are people, like yourself, who just look at the facts and then state their opinion, based on the facts. No bigotry, jingoism, or abuse.Thank you for posting your opinion and God bless you
Naz was a talented fighter in his period and was easy to dislike because of his obnoxious ways. While Eubank was always the gentleman, a little bit of an enigma and respected by many.
Interesting vid. I wonder how they ended up being friends again. I remember Eubank came to visit Naz before the Barrera fight in Vegas. They were filming some documentary and Naz and Eubank seemd to be getting along quite well. Laughing and joking together.
"Its been well documented that he (Eubank) copied Naseems jumping over the ropes into the ring". What an utter, utter, utter load of bollocks. How did anyone ever believe that. Back in the 90's didn't people understand the concept of time and how its linear?
@kareemabdullah you're actually right you know. I've been thinking about how the bible had been changed so much. SO the quran is still the same as it was when it was written?
Met Eubank once when I was late for a first date.. summer evening off Grafton St.. Dublin..Quick hello.. All respect too you Chris.. True gentleman, great boxer and one tough cookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris.........
Fucking hell man, Nicky Piper looks like a Postman. Hard to believe he was actually a half decent fighter. Looks like he goe's Train Spotting in his spare time haha
Naseem Hamed was a very, very good fighter, maybe even great at one point. He did defeat numerous good fighters, from champions to top contenders. Though his confident, cocky, and arrogant demeanor was part of his edge, and once he was defeated by a fighter greater than him, he was no longer the fighter he was, he longer felt unbeatable.
Hamed beat everyone in front of him like Joe Calzaghe. The difference was Naz actually ventured to the US and it wasn't his fault that there was nobody rushing to move up to featherweight (from the legendary mexican trio) to fight Naz + Naz's physique + size was never going to let him move up to Lightweight or Light-Welter + still be effective (whilst Joe's can...cuz he's a big guy). Barrera wasnt the 1st 'real test'. He was however the biggest test, and Barrera is a legend- no doubt.
I remember Naz hit Eubank and Eubank laughed in his face. It was in the papers. Eubank is a boxing legend but like most boxers he fought after his prime and lost is respect as a boxer, i still got respect for him and he will always be a legend in my eyes.
seems like they are just to a like and there's a bit of rivalry going on both brilliant boxers but the prince had that special something about him shame he retired to early but his hands couldn't take the punishment
he is going to win but it would be a good fight! consider this who else can floyd fight? everybody including past legends like RJJ have even said amir would give floyd problems so it would be a good fight to see
I've met Chris Eubank and he's a nice friendly bloke, I met him outside his home in Brighton and even though he had his kids with him , it was several years ago, he still took the time for a quick chat so obviously he's far better than that prince what's his name. Chris just needs to remember to keep his cool and not fall for the phoney rubbishing of people with no morals.
I love watching reruns of naz getting smacked around, some times i used to hate the cocky lil git, most of the times he was great entertainment, and ALL the time he can take a hit better than most.
Naz had chance of re match within 6 months and did not want anymore of the baby faced assain, great fighter , showmanship, massive power, and only 1 loss by decision on his record , shame he went into the darkness after his last fight , defiantly pinched eubanks rope trick though, eubank was a good fighter too, proper hard but completely off his head, son s a good fighter too potentially better than his crazy father.
