Wow, 16 world title fights (first as a challenger, 15 successfully defending the title), before he lost. 37 fights in total, 36 wins, and 31 of them by knockout. Family man. Ruled primarily by humility and religion. This, objectively, is what you can easily describe as one of the most satisfying win over life. Deserves nothing but respect!

Kelvin Thomas Agree, he was never dull, he had such a unique style, great power, massive confidence, solid chin, at times the way he moved reminded me of gumby lol...definitely a stand out fighter and should be remembered that way.

Kelvin my brother i totally agree with you! Btw nobody has represented boxing for the UK the way he did. My opinion, he shouldn't have stopped fighting on his 28th, he should have gone 2 more years, but i understand that he had lost his fatherly trainer because of money issues. In any business if you cross any trustworthy person for your own gain, you'll eventually become the loser in one way or another. Anyways Naseem was an amazing boxer, he brought both a good fight and a comedy show! Who can do that? Until this day, Nobody! Kelvin, honestly you must be one of the better people, just for saying what you said. My respect!

WOW too many haters, well, he got around over £30 million in bank, a wife, 3 kids and good health and too many lazy wankers wish they were him if provided with a chance.....but no, he earned it, that's why champions are champions and wankers are just talk for nothing..!! He achieved international recognition, and world respect (not from lazy wankers, but from word leading athletes in boxing word and others.. Lazy wankers, gets you tube to rant as usual.. This is a great interview. Its sad Prince Naseem ended his career a bit early he had such scary and a under-rated chin. Still believe he had another good 5 more fights in his prime. He def would have beat Morales and Junior Jones. He said something in this interview that struck me. He said his cofidence always made him know he was gonna win the fight. Against Barrera he looked so unconfident. Either way he still is a legend of the sport.

it wasnt his confidence in the entrance it was the lake of confidence after the first round he looked as if he gave up as if he lost heart he wasnt hitting like he usually did he wasnt dodging like he usually did he i believe knew it wasnt his night and gave up i think he figured he was getting to cocky witch in his religion is wrong and thats why he quit i believe and why he retired and didnt get to be undefeated

I thought it interesting where he said he had to shed 2 stone in 8 weeks, and indeed that would make any human weaker in the boxing ring. However, it begs the question, knowing he had a broken hand which I do not doubt and knowing he was going to be inactive for what turned out to be 7 months then why did he and those around him let him get to 2 stones overweight? After all Nas was no amateur and I've no doubt he was (and is) an intelligent guy but with the entourage around him I have to ask was this not pure unprofessionalism. I'm no boxer, but following a road traffic accident 40 years ago which without going into detail, totally fooked my left leg, and knowing I inherited the 'fat gene' I made a conscious decision to look after my weight and health. Because of course my right leg was now having to take much of my weight and I could see problems ahead such as arthritis. Why do I say this, well I know when losing weight and maintaining weight there have been times when I've felt weak and dizzy and the only opponent I had was a pen and a piece of paper. Everyone let me know your thoughts please.

People who do not nor have not ever "Boxed" will always disrespect those that do or have. Its called cowardice and false-bravado. Prince Naseem was and is an outstanding master of `Boxing. Like to see him coach youngsters at some point. Guy beat everybody. Lost to Barrera on points; not KO`d or stopped by MAB....Show respect! Only a man who has not been at the sharp end or trained brutally would dare disrespect a great fighter. My regards to Naz! - Kru Jason

Nas looks like he's eating well :D. I really enjoyed him. Fun. Misunderstood fighter: He was a unified champion. Legit power, and rare athleticism. Nas just didn't like to train lol. That can work for a while, but that always catches up with you eventually. I think he'd have been better off fighting Morales. Morales would have been more likely to allow his pride to trade with Prince, like Kevin Kelly did. Barrera was too savvy to get duped into that stuff.

The only reason naz lost was due to the lack of love for the game even Emanuel steward said he didn't train like he should have. He was 2 stone overweight and lost all his power and explosiveness. Everyone in the game knows naz was supposed to fight Barrera earlier in his career and in his prime and it was refused. Barrera wanted naz only when he realised he wasn't active.

arrogant? It was pretty arrogant for Ali to stick his head out for Frazier to smash with his leaping left hook but Ali still got the job done because he knew he was the faster, quicker fighter and believed he was the greatest... not arrogant. NAZ was a talented fighter with extreme confidants an the tenacity to win. He possessed knockout power in both hands and could hit with such accuracy that most fighters couldn't tell where they we're coming from. That's how he got most of his knockouts an flash knockdowns because we all know that the ones you don't see always hurts the most.

Legendary boxer , without doubt the most entertaining fighter of the times. Remember being really young and just wanting to watch him fight even when I didn't understand boxing .. Truly gifted , shame he didn't live up to what was a God given talent

Controversial style, pretty much of a arrogant charlatan. Wen this guy was being tested with the big guys he got his head smash's in. National he was pretty good, international a joke!

I love this guy. You know why? He is a very nice person. But I just love the way he knocked people out. I love his style. It’s so boosting watching him in action. And I love this interview because without it we wouldn’t appreciate what he is. He’s a man with character which stems from his belief in God. Very nice what he said about his father. He’s sensible. Not hyped up. And he’s very intelligent. He expresses this in his conversation by his ability to articulate intelligently. Down to earth. He was the best. Without a doubt the best. His tremendous ability gave him his great self belief. When you can fight like him how could you doubt. His amazing success will fuel his fire for the rest of his life. I wish him well as will all who see this interview. Good interview by Gary. He didn’t interrupt too much. And was fairly relaxed. If you want to be a great interviewer you need to put a cork in it and let the other guy talk and have his say.

He was entertaining, but he was not a likeable person. He was always an irritating little shit, nobody liked him and they just wanted to see him beaten. He was beaten the first time he fought a world class boxer who was at his peak rather than way past it.

I have never heard such lies in all my life in the documentary just before the fight he was not overweight and did not have a plastic suit on. On a small frame like his 2st would make him look like the Michelin man. ,

I am Mexican but I always respect the Prince Naseem for being someone that respected the sport off the ring and to his opponents. After his loss to Marco Antonio Barrera I actually clapped his words; 'it was god's will' and yes, Barreras will and he congratulated him. The only reason he didn't come back the same after that fight is because HE WAS EXPOSED to real Good Orthodox boxing! In a way, boxing and showmanship will always be thankful to making boxing interesting. God bless him.

The one of the most entertaining fighters(I'd say THE MOST) of all time and his record and accomplishments speak for themselves. But, he's also one of the smartest fighters of all time because he got out young, wealthy and most of all...with his health. Had he stuck around, there was some huge fights with guys like Morales, Pacquiao and Marquez and I think all three of those guys would have given him a lot of trouble and been fights he may have lost and not only would there be the losses on the record, but how much punishment would he have taken in those fights? Instead, he got out young, was smart with his money and has been able to enjoy his life and family after retiring at 28 years old. How many people can say? Instead, in boxing what we see is guys that stick around too long and by the time they're in their 40s, their speech is slurred and the brain damage is obviously there and only gonna get worse. So yeah, well played by the Prince who knew when it was time to get out and still be a legend, but also a healthy and happy legend.

Arguably my favorite boxer of all time. Not because he was the best or anything, but because the made the sport entertaining during his fights. Don't get me wrong. He was a good fighter. Very skilled and talented, especially with his movements. But his unique style made him stand out.

A supremely talented kid who let it all go to waste with a massively unprofessional attitude and an inflated ego. Look at the state of the guy now. Pretty depressing to watch given that there are guys his age and older still fighting at the very top level!

as a professional fighter you have to overflow with confidence, you are getting on the ring in front of the world to fight, you can get severely hurt or die, the only way to fight hard is to be over confident, there is no other way Naseem was misunderstood, me included, he actually seems to be a very likeable person, I enjoy seeing his interviews.

He didn't fight with anyone, they say he had championship fights, but against pure English amateurs. The first day he fought a professional like Barrera, he had nothing to do. I don't know why they say he's a legend.

Errrrrrrrr, doya know what? he talks about this n that n how he had'nt fought or trained for soooo long. Ok lest say he's tellin the truth! He goes against Barerra and loses. So if everything he says is true? then sum1 tell me this! WHY did'nt he then go on and 'demand' a RE-MATCH? Why did'nt he ask this and prepare the way he reckons he needs to in order to 'win' a fight? (Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yer catch me drift?). I think I, like many others watching this vidoe, can smell Fubar when they hear it. Fact is, he got beat by a superior fighter and to be honest? thats basically the 'only' true reason he got beat that night. He was as they say, 2nd best.....(simple as)

A true legend and amazing his knockout ratio! Could have been ranked higher if he fought Barrera again and other contemporaries like Erik Morales or Pacquaio or Mayweather. If he would have beaten one of them he would be ranked higher than them.

This guy is such a huge example of wasted potential. Yes, he won many fights, and was a champion. But he never got to truly elite status, he derailed his own career, when he could have gone on to become one of the greatest ever in his division. There is a reason he got clobbered when he fought his first truly elite opposition in Barrera, and it wasn't because Hamed wasn't skilled enough. He had ALL the gifts a boxer could ever asked for: Lightning reflexes, amazing hand speed, crippling power, and a fantastic chin (he was prone to flash knockdowns from being off balance, but his chin could absorb some thunderous punches.) So he had all those great gifts, but absolutely no work ethic or motivation. He bloated up like crazy between his fights, so he was forced to shed off a ton of weight in a short time when his fights came around. His trainers could hardly get him in the gym to train, he wasn't interested in doing so, just preferring to rely on his gifts. That's ultimately what derailed him, by the time he got to Barrera, he was more unmotivated and lazy than ever, his career was on the steep decline. Ultimately he was a guy who had all the physical gifts, but never had the mentality and discipline required to become a legend. It's clear with him that his motivation for his boxing career was fame, hard work never interested Naseem Hamed. Just imagine what he could have done if he had the discipline and work ethic of a Bernard Hopkins?

He's still arrogant. It's too bad he didn't ask for a rematch against Barrera, he would have gotten knocked out the second time round. Also, while a very talented fighter, he cannot be considered one of the greatest, because after the loss he fought some hambone, then retired. A great fighter would have come back to regain his titles. Incredible power though.

Sorry Hamad, You lost the fight because you got outboxed and had a terrible game plan. The weak from losing weight excuse is 60 years old and tired. True champions don't make excuses.

For the love of money is the root of all evil. Nas states here that John Ingle was there with him at ALL his amateur fights following him all round the country, and it was Johns father brendan that brought him to their gym and made him the boxer he was. If t was not for these ppl nobody would hv ever heard of naseem hamed who would prob be working in his dads corner shop right now. When the big money started rolling in he dropped them. frank Warren put on the right eventsin the right places that boosted Nas and gave him the exposure to the public and again as soon as the big money came he dropped him. Soon after this he lost. Very sad what money does to ppl especially lots of it. At the start of this interview it came across as though he has humbled himself a little, especially being as he murdered some1 and disabled other family members driving 100mph, but then that arrogance shnes through.
