When I'm driving home late on the highway and I see some headlights approaching, I can hear this song. It's weird, my car tends to drop a gear and my right foot gets heavy...
1:33 *you're on 6th gear, beginning to fly down the highway at 250kmh, while the pair of headlights behind you begin to grow farther. The only way to go is forward*
I'll never forget when I saw a blue 240Z at the junkyard every day for a year. And after that year. I spoke to the owner of the place about the car. He told me that it was as if the car was waiting for me to give it a new home, which I did. Now I have been driving it ever since my junior year in high school.
I'm currently rebuilding my ZB II Viper after having a nasty crash with it on the Autobahn - THIS and 'Back on the rocks' (Initial D) are my main motivational songs. When it's finnished I'm gonna post a slideshow with exactly this soundtrack! Wangan Midnight always felt 'deep' to me, but now it's even more shocking how real everything could become.
@@Crashlabs001 Thanks for your interest - the project is on a good way. Almost all parts are there and we've got a rough timing schedule for further steps (frame repair, paint job, wheel alignment). Things are starting to look good again ;-) With a bit luck everything should be fine by spring (summer latest).
@@morbidilian Well, the frame is straightened and wheel alignment almost done (waiting for a new control arm to get the last missing degree in caster on the right side). The engine is running fine and mechanical we're all clear. Currently we're waiting for a new fender to arrive (used one wasn't usable due to too much putty and resulting stiffness so it couldn't be mounted) so we can move on to assembly/paint during the next weeks. It's hard to imagine how complicated it is to get 'usual' spare parts for a 'halo car' like that (headlights, suspension parts, etc) ... most parts were used until 2017 VX Vipers - there really should be better support from Mopar, but well. Depending on the last remaining 'cosmetical jobs' (paint, new set of wheels/tires, install of safety harness, arrival of the repaired splitter) things shuld be starting to look good again by summer. The German safety inspection is due by fall this year - this is our current 'deadline'. In short: work is still in progress and the overall feeling is very positive/optimistic - unnecessary accident for sure but luckily with no 'major damage'; nobody harmed, everything repairable. Slideshow is gonna take some time, though (maybe 2023) :-D Thanks for your interest ;-)
Update (May): Car is fully assembled by now - we're more than happy with the gaps and fitment of the parts. Forgeline wheels, new tires and repaired splitter have arrived, too. Also Installation of safety harness (combined with interior cleanup) is done. Next step: paint job. Final step: wheel alignment with factory new control arms, install of canards, 'Devil ZB II' decal and German TÜV. What a ride ... :-)
Fun Fact: I driving my AE111 Levin through the ZSD (Saint-Petersburg Wangan) with this song. I racing with my friend on EK9 TypeR When time at song comes at: 1:33 me started hears strange sounds from the Engine (Speed was around 180 Km/H)... ... Next my 4AGE BlackTop has been blowed up (yeah, yeah like in initial d), but the AE111 is a FWD, i just stoped and start crying, because Levin my first, fast and cool car.... ... ANYWAY, AT THE NEXT DAY I BUYING THE NEW 4AGE BLACKTOP
Me too, man. Especially the 2:00 part made me a little sad because when I hear that part, I remember the characters saying their last lines at the show. Just finished it yesterday and it's really good. I love Initial D and Wangan Midnight.
1:33, you're on gear 6 flying down the autobahn, as you see a slight deemed light, you can't hear it but you can feel it. And as you see the car get closer you start to question yourself "what could it be?", All of a sudden it's already at your taillight, as you hear popping and crackling, you feel the sudden rush of adrenaline, your mind realizes the danger of this beast behind you, you try to sway through traffic, but you can't seem to lose the car behind you, it's literally slip streaming you all the way. And then all of a sudden your car slides through traffic and hits a giant pole, your car twists and bends, as you feel yourself get crushed by immaculate force, you see for a split second it was an audi rs6.
