Wangan Midnight (Anime series) high speed street racing highlights from episodes 18-20. Featured cars include Datsun 240Z (S30), Porsche 964, Nissan Skyline GT-R (R33, R32, R34), and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
Kuroki character one of my favourite in the anime. That petrolhead character and of course his GTR33 very simple and beautiful. You see his car all about performance than just looks. Anyway happy new to anyone seeing this video clip since coming back to watch on 31/12/2022.
Having non-JDM cars made all the difference to Wangan Midnight when compared to Initial D. I mean, I love JDMs, but seeing them compete against european cars is so exciting!
When Honda civics and Toyota Corollas were battling American cars in the Imports vs Domestics war, the very best of the best were battling it out on the track. The Japanese Grand Touring Car championship had Porsche 911s, Ferrari F40's, and McLaren F1s competing. The Supra and GT-R were ready to defend home turf.
In real life you can't push a car with a Z you'll damage the brackets to open the engine hood, and the air intake is so close on the left side. I had a 76 280z with a L28, but mine had a 9 rpm gauge, which is rare for some Datsun, Vin and some other parts were marked in Japanese. For some people is called Vette killer, because it had more horses than a Corvette from those years. Anyway thanks for sharing this awesome video ✌️😸
About Smokey Nagata is that even tho people say that he's in Mid Night he wasn't the leader himself the one that drives 280ZX deemed too dangerous to join
God arm vs Takumi or tomiyuki vs takumi is the closest it’ll get other than the evo 3 rematch or the na Miata ( pop up headlights ) vs The ae86. It’s the closest it’ll get from these camera angles
It seems that maintaining stock displacement 2600cc and producing 800 is not reliable. At least, he could've go stroker 2800cc which could take more punishment.
I own a R32 with Rb26dett, with had miss fire due CAS being not timed properly, really if CAS is bad or not timed properly, will give a lot of miss fired.
One question I have is, are spoilers needed? You don’t need the downforce in the straights and small bends of the Wangan but the traction would mean the car is more stable when going 200km/h+ right?
Yeah, at that range of speed you want downforce to ensure your car will stay planted but at the same time you won't need a lot for street applications (unless its extremely lightweight). Driving fast is one thing, maintaining speed safely is a different story.
I find that it makes a considerable difference in rear-end stability at 120+ km/h with my 280ZX. Even in a straight line you can feel the difference if you're going fast enough.
Spoilers are made for high speed. And these people regularly race at 300km/h(186mph) speed so 1/2 the speed they race at is when spoilers are being used. And just changing lanes at that speed gets benefits in rear stability with a spolier. Even a FWD Honda would benefit from a spoiler at those speeds just like any other car. It's all about speed and turning(even minor turns).
