Outstanding video, it impressed me big time. I have a 28,000 litre koi pond here in the UK and have always wanted to get involved in breeding but I do not have enough space and with my job never got enough time. Never felt confident enough to quit my job and go for it. I have had a good life though and enjoyed your video tremendously. I will be checking your channel out from now on. Thank you Brady. Great video taking us from go to whoa in the breeding side of koi. I would have left the copperhead where it was too. Look after number 1, 2,3, and 4 first. Then the koi then the rest of the menagerie you obviously have visiting you on a regular basis. Thanks again.

The difference between the male from female koi is that the male koi has something on their front fin so that they can rash them to the abdomen of female while courtship

hey Brady question if your still responding to messages ...your mud ponds for the koi fry do you just let then eat all natural food in the pond or do you also feed them? how long do you leave them.in the mud ponds for? and do you treat them for parasites once they are taken out? ...also what kind of filtration do you recommend for say a 10,000 gallon pond inside a greenhouse for over winter with a large load of koi ...starting my own koi buissiness up here and jersey and it's Alot of work but it's what I'm set on doing ....any advice would be appreciated ...this year was the first year we were open and we didn't do bad for our first year...now I am getting into breeding ...hope to here from you and keep up the good work! :)

Hi Brandy, just curious, what percentage of a spawn's fry turn out to be the same variety as their parent's? i.e. if you spawn 2 Kujaku, what % of fry are Kujaku? Does the % vary with variety? Is there a higher or lower % with certain varieties? Thank you.

I have a natural pond 25x30'.A heron came last week and I ran him off 3x in one day. Had a lot of rain and the level of the pond is high. Haven't seen the fish in days. They won't even come up to eat. If the heron didn't eat them all what could be going on ?

how do you do a proper salt bath with out killing the fish?

A bit of advice I saw your child stroking the carp. fish have a sort of protective slime covering their body by stroking it the slime comes off, therefore there is a risk of skin infection.I know this through exxperience when i had a carp fishfrarm (for consumption) in iran.

Seems to me you ought to use a finer weave for your pond nets so creatures won't get tangled up in them. It's not fair, even to a copperhead, to leave him miserably stuck in your netting to roast in the sun. And the racoon only growled at you because he was in a trap and he was scared. As for your unidentified predator, what do you expect will happen when you provide a wealth of nice, fat fish to eat when an animal is hungry? I know this video is from a several years ago, and you don't breed koi anymore except for entertainment, but please try to be kind to the wildlife around you. Remember, they were there before you.
