re. 8:oo to 8:30 and the "misbehaviour of the cruisaders in the bath-houses"... this was surprising, given Michael the Great's mention that any such misconduct (even entering said bath-house, not to mention whatever misconduct she is vaguely referring to) would result in "the sword" which to me means execution. can you rectify or at least acknowledge this discrepancy? were knights of Templar's rules & oaths "on paper" only?

Hello DrBlaneyPhysics, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm not an expert in this and I don't know how reliable the different accounts are. My assumption is that if you have a large amount of people, there are always some that misbehave, regardless of their oaths or promises. However I also learned from Carole Hillenbrand, that there was a strong distinction between the Crusaders in general and the Templars. The Templars were the knights that took these strict oaths and lived like warrior monks. The Crusaders were a much more diverse group in terms of their motivation to fight in what they called the Holy Land. So maybe the accounts of misbehaviour was potentially more on the side of the Crusaders? Sorry that's all I know, hope this helps. I wish you a nice day!
