Great customers appraisals I seen the manifold on the second mini is from Holley racing that name is a blast from the past I had my engine lightened and balanced by them back in the day based in Warrington Cheshire
Thanks for replying to some of my other comments so far but I have to ask, have you ever had a problem with carburettors icing up in cool and especially humid weather... I've had a problem for a long time now where no matter how good i think I've got my engine running for the first few minutes, sometimes when I go for an extended, more spirited drive out into the forest, it just runs worse and worse, fuels up on deceleration from high revs etc. yesterday i pulled over and had a wuick look under my bonnet and i noticed the outside of the carburettor was all wet with water and there was some small bits of ice in the little nooks and crannies (note this is a sidedraft dellorto I'm talking about on a non-mini, crossflow style engine but i thought I'd ask anyway)... So i can only imagine that the inside where the action is happening is probably getting clogged up with ice even worse...
Ta for the response. The humidity last time I had this problem was 100%. Also noticed when I started driving at full throttle the engine would rev right out and do over 120kph on a flat bit of road in the beginning. Once I started having the ice issue I could only get the car up to 100Kph and the power just flattened right off, almost as though the Venturi had been made too small. My in-car AFR gauge was telling me the fueling was still correct at W.O.T.
