Nice to hear my own thoughts from someone else. I feel like I've plateaud in a lot of ways but it's only because I'm not letting myself grow out of fear of failure. This way of thinking extends farther, like for quitting bad habits etc. You can do it, but you don't cuz you're scared of getting out of your comfort zone.
24 and i'm not doing college, single job, can't get out of my parents house. and i feel this so hard. and any time i FINALLY get out of the comfort zone it's both: A) oh that wasnt bad at all, and also B) oh it's 2 weeks and i've either lost interest or not consistent and can never be consistent with anything i used to be really into darts when i hit the bar with coworkers for a good 6 months but then my skill plateaued and a bad experience at the bar we frequent made me lose interest
i think the problem is that staying in the same place is way easier than going out in the dangerous waters of "new". i've been thinking about this topic a little bit and stumbling on your video makes me want to think about it even more. thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this, you really put into words stuff that's been eating away at me for years. I've made hundreds of videos and posted them all unlisted, always scared to make anything public, but maybe I'll finally actually do that.
real i have . kind of the reverse problem. but also not. i tend to keep myself from doing things as well but for me, part of the reason is because... when i try to do things, part of me feels like i have to do it, and i push myself too hard and fuck myself up and feel horrible (not helped by the fact that my body's fucked and will start tearing itself apart if i try to do too much) so its like.... trying to hit this weird balance of trying to get rid of the feeling of obligation to Do Things™, but also trying to get rid of the fear of doing things i actually want to do and each one feels like its put there to keep the other in check. so whenever i finally take care of one, the other kicks in, and starts fucking me up real bad, and then to fix* things i just have to go back to how it was. maybe the real solution for me is to try to focus more on the feeling of actually genuinely wanting to do something, and thatll make it more obvious when its not there too. but fuck, it's hard.
when i started started melee for real in december i could barely move my character. Now, I can take stocks consistently with actual flowcharts. I'm a falcon main. I looked at my slippi stats last night and I've played around 3,149 games. That's around 524 games a month, give or take. Which sounds like a LOT but i don't even play everyday. Just here and there. I went all of June basically not playing, because I was out of state. But i improved by watching videos of n0ne while i was gone. When i got home, i just tried some of the stuff i saw, and now i can do more stuff. You got this bro

Hey just randomly got you on my recs and after hovering the video for a while out of boredom, I found myself relating with your issue. Think doing whatever you want to do is a cool idea.
