Thank you Ian,I wanted to keep it contained in the tray but like most of the layouts i build they get a little bit bigger than i had planned, But i quite like the shelf to and as you say if i can get the right backdrop it hopefully will all come together , Thanks again for your kind comments ,All the best
Nice work. That looks great. If space is a problem, build a small layout. The old Tri-ang TT has a 10" first radius curve. I'm building an 1800x600 (6'x2') Tri-ang TT layout that would fit under any bed. As you say, there are things you can do if space is a problem. Happy Modelling Mon
Good to hear from you Colin, hope all is well with you, hows progress coming on with your 009 narrow gauge layout ? Happy modelling and all the best Carl
U I have enjoyed your video and it really helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling I mention my illness so you know who is watching and why thank you 😊
Hi Martin, I am so sorry to hear your news it sounds like you have had a very challenging time, I hope your recovery is going well and you get stronger week by week, thank you for watching my videos and putting up with me repeating myself alot, unfortunately I had a heart attack a couple of months ago so I haven't been modelling, but lets hope we both get back to it soon, I wish you all the very best, and please would you c keep me informed as to how you are doing, Carl
As a younger person I disliked anything but larger layouts, however with age I know appreciate these smaller scale layouts even more than anything but the ultra realistic larger scale ones.
Hi Adrian, many years ago I started a large layout, I wanted to see full length trains running through the country side, I sort of made a good start but ran out of time-money and probably motivation , I didn't build another layout for quite a few years, when I started again I promised myself I would finish what I started, over a hundred layouts later I love our hobby and have been lucky to have outlets for what I build, all the best to you and happy modelling
Very good. Lots of great detail. You can use coin sized earth magnets to hold on the photo backdrop so, it is removable. Put a second one on the other side and you can swap the backdrops when the mood strikes.
Sorry Greg looks like they have suspended me again, apparently they don't like the word Whimsical im on FB under Carl's Whimsical Railways if thats any help
Hi Tony, I believe it was 14 inch diameter, I remember it was a squeeze but no problem for the Bachmann On30 Porter, I used peco track and just removed half the sleepers, all the best to you Carl
@@tonyromano6220 Thanks Tony and the best thing for me is, I get them finished, I have been known to move onto something else and not go back for a while , in fact I have more than enough unfinished layouts,
