FYI those 4000ky generators are famous for clogging up at the fuel shut off under the float bowl. To fix remove the solenoid assembly and clean it with carb cleaner. Also you can use that fuel line from the tank for an external fuel pump if your in tank pump fails, except for the last 1/4 tank.

As always I learned something, zinc in the oil. Never gave it a thought. Guess I'm changing the oil.

Kevin I have a 1996 micro quiet 4000 that starts and runs but dies if you release the start switch. It will keep running if you hold the start switch on. As soon as you release the start switch it dies. Is this a common problem? Any ideas? Thanks

Great job Kevin, never knew the 4000 was a one cylinder engine. What chassis did he have? 100,000 mi pretty good.
