It’s so weird to me that so many cringe ya romance writers are university teachers. Like YOU are trying to teach other people how to write ?? I’d drop out if my teacher wrote something like that 💀
Well, technically speaking, it has nothing to do with that because teachers at uni don't usually teach this type of writing but instead, academic writing, which is very different from the writing ya books specifically.
all of her books are so bad like i’m so sorry but i will never take another stance. mediocre and people eat this shit up, same with fourth wing and half of the “romance books” that have fantasy involved like acotar and the cruel prince.
52:28 "He just has to resist the urge to drink human blood until the morning and then the venom goes away or smth. I don't really know where it goes. Maybe he pees it out" 🤣
30:04 Ariel Lagrimas?? lágrimas means tears in portuguese.... and i looked it up and apparently that girl has magical tears or whatever.... miss garber....... cmon now 😭 I've noticed several times that authors will use foreign words (sometimes slightly misspelled) to name their characters after something that's somehow related to their powers/personality/appearence, etc. It's so lazyyyyy 🥴
I actually liked the idea of the trilogy and I was trying to convince myself that I'm just not used to this writing style - little did I know that it was just really bad. I truly thought that the problem was me and read all three books hoping it will get better. It did not. I was so disappointed because I think that with a completely different writing style, that could perhaps give more plasticity to the characters which were otherwise so dull, it could really be an interesting a fairytalelike trilogy. But right now I'm just mad I got tricked by the pretty covers and bought all three books and just had to finish them
@@vina36 Well, you can always give it a try. It's not unreadable like Shatter Me's writing for instance. If you're into fantasy, you may overlook some elements. Personally, I just found it so boring??? Like, it's so boring I can't even explain it, I only ever progress in its reading when I do the dishes, I put the audiobook, but like, I genuinely don't care what happens or what will happen. I see the hype about it and I just don't get it cuz it's kinda confusing and there's literally no chemistry between the supposedly couple??? Like, if people weren't yapping about Jax (idk how to write his name) and Evangeline, I wouldn't have guessed that they are supposed to feel anything for each other cuz like, whenever they meet and there's an interaction, I just be like 'please let it finish' cuz it's so cringe and uninteresting and superficially written '-' And I'm way past 50% of the book but I'm not rooting for whatever romance is supposed to unfold between them because they just- don't match at all? That is, plus the fact that Evangeline's character is just so stupid and supercial as well, no personality no nothing, and she keeps repeating that she wants her happily ever after, her lines are annoying and boring asf. The relationship and romance, dialogues and chemistry are very important to me, and if I find myself hating it, it just kills the vibe and the hype for me. However, there are some details in the book that I really enjoyed, some events and setting, some elements of fantasy and magic that were pretty interesting in my humble opinion. Sorry for rambling... You don't have to read all this 💀
@@AliaMariaMeziane haha I get your point, I've heard the main female character is a naive and dumb girl and honestly I hate that in books especially fantasy!! Like give me a Jude Duarte kinda girl!!!
A uni teacher moving to her parents' house just to write a teenage romance novel series is... So american im sorry peace and love but like. How in the publishing industry. No one in northern europe would be doing that akdjfhskkfhs
Maybe bc in Northern Europe they actually take care of their population with proper social safety nets. This allows people to pursue their dreams without resorting to such “American” measures. 💖 Be grateful, not judgmental.
sophie do you like any books? not judging i love your videos and agree with most of your opinions im just excited for the day you enjoy a book you read
