I don’t blame Rumple for wishing to make amends, but I agree with Bael that he shouldn’t place blind trust in someone. That was kind of his son’s mistake.

If you look closely, you see Pan is briefly affected. Its possible that the energy required for Rumple to override Pan's own powers is too much to be called upon such short notice, whichi s why only the Lost Boys and Henry were actually knocked out

While it is entirely possible than Pan is more powerful than Rumple, Rumple is only scared of him due tothe fact that Pan is his father and Rumple has a fear of confronting his past demons...namely his mother and father. You can't use that as proof that Pan is the more powerful one
