Problem is that ARRI, RED, and Sony still have a stranglehold in Hollywood and all the other -woods, so anyone who wants to be a serious filmmaker will still go for those cameras. Beginners will go for DSLRs, mirrorless, or even just iphones (or they'll rent used stuff). This sits in a very uncomfortable middle ground, where it's too expensive for beginners/indies, but not pro enough for the big-boy filmmakers.
