That’s kinda the charm of the watch!! In fact the ALL black one that is barely legible is the most common - it’s “stealth” , “dark” and “classy” - exact words of rich Casioak owners and famous RU-vidrs - Citizen three years ago produced a all black eco drive model that is all black, I bought it, and I couldn’t read the time AT ALL for the life of me. Especially indoors! I gave it away to my brother who absolutely loves it. I’m with you mate! If you can’t read the damn time what’s the point? I have the Casioak Tokyo neon edition and it’s just barely more legible than the all black GA2100. I still have to, like , play with it in the light to spot the hands and the negative display doesn’t help either 😂😂😂 I do love my watch though and I have a yellow Casioak with a positive display that I can read a mile away, and so can everyone else !! Im with ya mate!! 🎉🎉🎉
If u really love all other aspects of the watch, you can always have the hands changed out. I did this and I am infinitely happier with the watch. (I own the GA2100 "stealth").
_if you can't read the time then what's the point_ Exactly my view as well. Utilitarian. Form follows function. There are a number of people who have complained about legibility and subsequently getting more legible variants.
@@johndoe-vc1we While I agree personally and generally seek out legible dials watches are also worn as jewelry and some people value the aesthetic over the function. I have a few hard to read skeleton dials the beauty of the movement and gaining insight about how they actually function override the ease of deciphering the time for me on those. It would suck if they were my only watches but I also have other watches for when I just need to tell time easily especially at night.
To me the most beautiful is the all grey (not the one you posted, the one that has two tones and is called GA2110), and that one is totally legible. And it has a positive display. I own it and it is great. Changed the hour markers to lumed ones though (but kept the grey color).
I noticed the same issue. Casio makes the casioak in a great variety of colors but a lot of them have poor legibility due to a lack of contrast. Many of the colors are great from a distance but in the end a watch should be easy to read. One of my critical criterion for buying any watch is legibility even if it's otherwise a great or beautiful watch.
Being owning the GA2100 full black edition I can assure each of you reading this reading time is not at all an issue the watch design is such that it looks beautiful in all black
Just bought a casioak recently the black face with the green hands and markers, I love mine but yes in low light conditions can be slightly difficult too read
You're right. The hands should be longeer and all lume. The minute hand overlaps the hour hand so obscures it a lot of the time. My model is legible enough
I almost returned mine and was going to order the digital option but, I tried it on in different lighting and moved my arm around, and used the light when needed. Depending on your eyesight, you could tell the time, you just gotta angle your arm right. Now, if there’s a glare, like from the sun or a very bright light, etc., I’m not sure how well you’ll be able to see the time, you may have to cover the watch with something to see the time
I ended up using SKXMOD, very happy with it, but I have to confess I botched one part of it. The light doesn’t work anymore. I must have banged it up somehow. Otherwise, the rest works as normal.
Only few of GA-2100 model that had good legibility. Most of them are bad, some other are worse. Combine that with tiny negative display. G-shock suppose to be "cool" N "tool" watch. But...I guess they start more focusing on "cool" factor. GW-B5600u with atomic time, solar power, good legibility, EL backlight & straight forward function still bang for the bucks.
I bought the GAB2100, with toughsolar and bluetooth, and the white hands for better legibility. Also, where did you get the nylon strap? I really want it...
Hey man, nice video! May I ask you something, I have a 6.3 inch wrist and I was wondering whether a metal mod gshock would fit me. Based on your experience, what would you say? Will it be too big for me?
You said yourself there are all sorts of combinations or colour and finish, so why pick one you struggle to read….? I got the yellow and black one and it’s awesome….
I have the virtual blue and its hard to read even with the light blue line on the hands and under ideal light conditions, i still want the stealth one hahahaha.
Casio watch's resin materials & non steel straps are degradable & we need take them to the service centres to get it changed. After approximately 10 years most Casio models become discontinued & spare parts are no more manufactured. Hence they are 'use & throw' watches. The same goes for all Japanese brands or Japan movement watches. This is my experience & I had to discard them.
There are many Casioaks available with a more legible display, lol. I don't really get the point of this short, as you sound like they don't have any legible models.
Same. I've got 4 of them. The virtual boy is my most illegible but blue detailed hands are easier to read than the digital display. The others are fine to me. I got the black one first, then went with positive displays for the next 3 versions.
He meant about the dial, markers and hands (analog part). Digital display is too small to read the time at a glance. Even with the legible dial, markers and hands, I found it difficult tp read the exact minute since it has only 3 minute indices in between hour markers.
Because watches are much more practical for checking the time, especially in certain work/social situations when digging for the phone in your pocket is rather inconvenient.
It’s only a $100, big dawg. You could’ve taken that leap for the culture, so your reasoning doesn’t make sense. Only few logical explanations are: 1) you’re a hater 2) are just plain broke, or 3) you’re a liar. Run your video ideas by a friend the next time
youre exactly right. legibility is probably the worst thing about gshocks. and casio is releasing so many negative displays for absolutely no reason. terrible.
Eyes a fine bud, they manage to see all of my 18 other watches just fine. It doesn't take a blind man to realise that some of the Caioaks are not so legible
I agree with you. I have the gma-2100 model and it's very difficult to read. I had to change the hands to white to contrast with the grey dial. I hope Casio fix that problem.@@TopTierTicker
