Hi guys, apologies for the jumpy footage, it was an issue we encountered all evening with our streaming provider and it was completely out of our control - hopefully it's not too distracting and is better than no highlights at all!

What an intense final 🤯, one of the best in PL history. Gutted for Joe, but what a dream run he’s had on debut 👏. From people ridiculing him being in this PL to almost clinching it, Joe’s shown he can hang with the best.

Amazing final, would’ve been great to see Cullen win he was playing the best darts of his life, but I think that MVG really needed the PL win especially with his operation and absences coming up. Great to see him getting back to his winning ways.

Don’t understand how people can dislike MVG. He’s really nice and down to earth.

Have not seen MVG so emotional after a win since he first beat Taylor as a teen. Fairplay to him!

MVG has done it!!! What an end to a brilliant Premier League season. Such an intense final and when it went 8-8 i thought this could go to a deciding leg and both players could get match darts and thats exactly what happened. Couldnt be any closer. Im a little disappointed that Clayton lost in the semis as hes been brilliant so far but this is what can happen if u dont turn up on any given night and if ur opponent is playing superb like Cullen was. Gotta feel for Cullen coz he had his fav double to win it and within 5 seconds MVG has won the title. Very happy for MVG coz he really needed this and its great to see him win a major title again. Overally a brilliant campaign capped off with a fitting finale and i cant wait for the Premier League next year.

Damn, Cullen took it all the way. There's really no shame in losing that way, it just goes to show that if MVG wants to win it, you'd have to give him a run for his money. It's good effort.

Gutted for Joe but an amazing final. It had absolutely everything. Swung back and forth, big scoring, clutch finishing. Best final I've seen in a while. Not a huge MVG fan but out of all his wins I reckon this probably means the most especially with his enforced break coming up. For me there is no sport that comes close when it comes to tension. That's what I love about mvg he's won it all but as well know the last 3 years others have caught up ,but just look how much it means to him ! Great champion as if that double 16 had gone in for Joe he would of smiled and shook Joe's hand .

MVG vs Cullen was one of the best darts matches I have ever seen. Cullen played so fantastic darts. I fully understand his reaction after the final. He did his best to get this title and his final double was so close. Amazing level of throwing from both players.

I am in awe. The brilliant, spectacular level of play from both players in that final was special. Each deserved to win. The tension at the very end was so high! Sooo close.

For those of us old enough to remember "Wide World of Sports" (honestly, I can recall sitting on my father's lap in "the Den" (which became my sister's bedroom when I was five so I had to be 4 or younger) one Saturday when I was sick watching it), this was definitely an example of "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!" Absolutely an example of that here. Love watching both these guys throw ... exciting Thank you for posting.

Joe just proving to everyone that he belongs at the top. Would have loved to see him win. But also, it's great that MVG is back to winning form. It's great for the sport.

I guess that deciding leg at the final reminds me of PL 2017

What an amazing final!! When MVG couldn't buy a treble throwing for the match I thought Cullen had it, and he was only millimeters away! Good to see MVG truly back in the winning circle; were he not having this operation then he would be my firm favourite for the Matchplay. Hopefully the time off doesn't completely ruin his hard work getting back to the top. Bit gutted for Clayton. He was comfortably the best player across the regular league phase, but just couldn't get going tonight. Tbf Cullen played very well anyway.

Cullen us so improved. Great role model for fellow players. Same for Clayton.

You got to feel for Joe and Johnny. Joe was the best player of the night and looks to beat MVG, looking at his form throughout the season. Johnny dominated the season only to lose in the Semis with such horrendous form.

There are not many events where the best player in the event doesn't win. Having play offs is a ludicrous format. If they are going to market this event as the 'premier league' then it should follow the same format as a league where whoever finishes top of the league is the winner. Clayton was the best player by a mile over the duration of this tournament which is reflected by the final league standings. He is the real winner in my eyes. Thank god Cullen didnt win who finished on only 24pts compared to Claytons 41. That would have been even more of a mockery.

My heart goes out to Cullen, you can see he was close to tears at the end. I suspect after this tournament he will have even more support and trophies are just around the corner for him!

From across the pond, it's been awesome watching, Joe just keep plugging away and plugging away and now he throws lights out, definitely showing top ten stuff over and over. As I've followed VanGerwin vs Taylor and the rest, his dry spell was beginning to seem permanent. So Joe is excellent yes, but it was good to see VanGerwin flat overpower him, It's wasn't perfect, but it was due. Thanks to both, great match!

Shame crowds like this have become normal in darts. Class from MvG to win nevertheless. He has become used to this - as a Dutchman you have to because every big trophy is in the UK - but it's a shame that even in a country which isn't involved in the final this happens.

Cullen missed some big treble 19s in the last leg, i was surprised he went that way as he was hitting the treble 20s so well, he did the same thing 2 or 3 legs earlyer which also cost him that leg, them 2 missed treble 19s followed by the missed treble 20 with the third dart made things difficult and only gave him one dart at that missed double. But it's good experience for Cullen, he can certainly be a world champion/number 1 if he really wants it bad enough. I would have liked to have seen cullen and humphries picked for the england world cup team. Maybe next year as i think it's just a matter of time anyway.

Wish I had of the watched the whole final instead of the highlights. Might yet still. The battle with in themselves is always the fun part.
