Great video. My Rubicon4xe was delivered in May of 2020 and We are extremely happy with it, on and off the road. I love the torque of the 4xe. You will learn to drive the Jeep with the Max Regen ON and save your brakes. I bet I can get four times the mileage from these brake pads. I use the e-save mode to get to the trail. When I need extra torque for an obstacle, whether in 4H or 4L, no matter what mode you are in, pull the shifter over to M and the engine will come on. You now have the engine AND the electric motor torque available to tackle the obstacle and it is like no other Jeep. Instant torque, with little or no engine throttle. A totally new feeling, pretty awesome.
That is definitely a colour! I think I quite like it. Nice to see load rating getting a mention. I have seen people caught out on that. Most recently a Jaguar XF with a tyre that was too big for the spare wheel well. A shop had installed a high load SUV tyre. It was about an inch taller overall.
Hey Tyler, thanks for the informative video on the Jeep, I didn't realize that tires can make such a big difference!!! I'm also fascinated with electric & hybrid vehicles as I believe the internal combustion engine will be obsolete in the not so distant future!!! Yes, the color is an interesting choice for a Jeep, it reminds me of a Barbie vehicle!!! 🙄
Yes! A real life, Barbie’s Dream Jeep! Skipper and Ken will be thrilled! Haha. Couldn’t resist. That color is not for me, but Jeep’s are very personal, and I can see the appeal for others. Any Jeep in any color is cool IMO. Nice video. I have a 4xe on order. Looking forward to it.
I totally agree with you I can totally respect the color because it is unique and cool, I probably wouldn't be ordering it myself but it is definitely a unique Jeep going down the road that looks awesome! Thanks for the view!
I have a 2019, V6 JLUR with the Mopar lift. You are totally right, it does ride a little bit stiffer but overall it’s just like factory. I did have some steering gearbox issues that were covered under warranty without any argument by the dealer just because they installed the Mopar lift. I just ordered a new 2022 4XE Rubicon, and plan to do the same thing but had the same questions about power and economy. Also, when I got my Lyft they said I had to get aftermarket wheels so the tires would not rub on the inner fenders. I noticed you kept the same wheels, has that been an issue?
Another awesome video! Love the one day build on the 4xE and it looks fantastic! I'm excited to get the Mopar lift installed this weekend. For someone who has personally installed a ton of Mopar lifts, do you feel a larger track bar or steering stabilizer is necessary or recommended? Many people on forums have suggested that in order to keep the front axle aligned after the lift, a new heavier and adjustable track bar is recommended. And that a new Mopar FOX steering stabilizer is recommended for the new heavier tires. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject.
I think if it were my personal Jeep I would keep the factory track bars but add the FOX stabilizer, yes the axle is very slightly off center but it is very little and I would had to add any squeaks ect. with a aftermarket trackbar with different bushings. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter That's exactly what I ended up doing. The front axle is off center about 1/2 inch but it drives great and tracks straight as an arrow. The Fox Stabilizer provides a confident feel to the steering and the Mopar lift rides as good as or better than stock. Appreciate your response and the very informative videos👍
The friend of mine that I put this together for definitely will be primarily on road that is why I went with the lighter weight C range tires to hopefully help the hybrid system gets slightly better mileage since it will be on road most of the time. Thanks for the view!
Tyler, your videos are the best. Question: if I wanna go for different wheels than the stock ones on a Rubicon, would you then go for higher wheels (maybe 20s) or not? And within a 2 inches lift, will a 20 inch wheels and 35 inch fit?
It is totally up to the owner with a 2in lift on a Rubicon you can fit up to a max size tire of 37in. with the other trim levels you can fit a 35in tire max. Now on wheel size it is totally up to the owner a lot people will put 17's or 20's or even larger. as long as you keep the tire size the 35in or 37in depending on you trim you should be great. Thanks for the view!
Hey great video. So Im kinda new to jeep. I have a 2021 4xe.i have seen people say to replace the drive shaft when lifting the jeep 4xe. Should this be done or is the stock one fine?
Love it! Thanks for sharing. I’m in the process of planning my Mopar /Fox lift with 35”s or should I say 315/70/17s - great tip, btw! QQ - you add the tires to the stock rims on this vehicle. On a JLU 2.0 rubicon, any issues with using the stock rims? I’ve heard mixed opinions on this topic. I really like the stock rims so would prefer to use them if I can. Thank you!
Yes on a Rubicon due to the wider stock axles you can use the stock wheels with the wider tires with no rubbing issues. We do this quite often at the shop. I also love the stock wheels! Thanks for the view!
Is it necessary to remove the front of the bumper with the larger tire on the 2" lift. What about the axle? To you need to replace it on the 2" lift? I've heard it is required on the 3"+ lifts.
No the full bumper can stay installed, I just really like the look of the narrow bumper. We also haven't had any axle issues with JL's with larger tires so far at the shop. Thanks for the view!
Hey Ty, did video and excellent quality work. You can work on my wife's 4xe (and my powerwagon), anytime. Quick question, I was told the 4xe requires swapping the front driveshaft? Thanks for the help in advance
As far as Mopar is concerned there is no front driveshaft change with the Mopar 2in lift on the 4xe. We have lifted 3 now I think and all are still doing great with the stock driveshaft. Thanks for the view!
Here is a video talking about both parts and it probably would be a good idea with 35's. Thanks for the view! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Ej82O_QS8E.html
Hi Tyler . Great video . I have a new 4xe rubicon … I want to do the same thing you did in this video. Have any good people in Dallas you would recommend, or shops?
What about the clearence for the back tires when off roading without it rub I'm a guy who takes this rock crawling I have it stock 4XE Wrangler I take it to the same trail in moab But I want less touching when off roading and articulation I dont want my tires rubbing on the body
Love your videos question, I have a stock 2022 jk, I have a 2.5in lift and want to add 35in tires asap! Some people say I need wheel spacers others say no, Do you think it would have rubbing?
We will sometimes have clearance issues with the Mopar lift with the rear extended sway bar links getting close to the rear wheels. I'm more sure what lift or wheels you have but if you are already lifted with no issues you should be fine to add your 35's. Thanks for the view!
Thinking about buying this lift for my 4XE Rubicon. I’ve read somewhere that the Rubi’s already come with 2” of lift. Do you know if this is true and whether this lift will actually increase my jeep’s height by 2-inches give or take or will it not make much difference?
The Rubicon tires will be a higher load range LT tire so just will the heavy stiffer tires will add a little more firm ride, also the Mopar lift rides great but if anything will make it slightly firmer. All in all it will still drive and ride great but you will probably end up with a slightly firmer ride. Thanks for the view!
We a lot of the times will reuse the stock wheels on a sport but will add a 1.75in wheel spacer to help the rear wheels clear the rear sway bar links. Or you can use aftermarket wheels with a wider offset. That that is a hard question to answer. It is really up to the owners liking. Thanks for the view!
Do u know if this lift increases payload capacity? I think the stock rubicon 4xE has a payload capacity of around 850lbs? Really needing this number to be bigger and I heard lifting helps. TIA!
I would think the springs should be slightly higher spring rate but probably not much as the Jeep's still ride really close to stock with the Mopar lifts on them. Thanks for the view!
Will the Mopar 2 in lift yield the same height as the 3.6 versus 2.0 due to the different spring rates if any the weight of the base Wrangler Rubicon be it 3.6 or 2.0 is approximately the same?
Since there is different lift kit part numbers depending on 2 door vs. 4 door and then each of the motor options they all seem to get about the same gain. Thanks for the view!
Hey Tyler! Question for you. I’m new to the whole modding of jeeps. Are spacers for tires bad for the axle of the Jeep? I only want a 1.5 inch spacer for a wider stance.
A good quality bolt on wheel spacer torqued to the correct lug nut torque should be perfectly fine. I would recommend checking the spacers lug nut torque each time you have a tire rotation done just to be safe. Thanks for the view!
It really depends on what your going to be doing with the Jeep, if it is spending 99% of it's life onroad I would probably be pushed towards 35's but if your a guy out wheeling every other weekend the 37's would be a great option. Thanks for the view!
There were two items. When the 4xe first came out (in the first month) they abruptly stopped selling the 2” lift for it and reworked a few things. Then that replacement came out and v2 was only netting about a 1” lift. I believe they have subsequently come out with a v3 with stronger springs and they now sit about the same as non-4xe lifts. I am going to order one within the next month or two. By the way, I made up the version numbers to help with the explanation, I have not generally heard them referred to as v1, v2 and v3 (not sure why not).
37's would be pretty large on the low fender non rubicon flair Jeep's, on the street it would be totally fine though but off-road it might rub when flexing the suspension. Thanks for the view
I believe 77072522AB is the newest part number for the 4xe lift, but double check with your local dealership parts department with your VIN number. Thanks for the view!
Tyler, your videos are great. I’m considering the 2”Mopar for my 4xe Rubicon, but I’m reading quite a bit of people on forums saying they’re getting only roughly 1” lift on their 4xe rubicons (they’ve verified it was the right part number. Are these edge cases? Have you measured before and after on they 4xes that you’ve lifted? Thanks!
No, this one is just the factory wheels with no spacers. We do find that with the sport trim level we need to use wheel spacers with the stock sport wheels to clear with rear sway bar end links. But since the rubicon has a wider axles it will clear with the stock wheels just fine. Thanks for the view!
If I recall the lifts from Mopar are $1495 plus labor if the dealership is installing it. Tires also can vary a lot depending on size and brand. Thanks for the view!
There are a lot of different Mopar lifts depending on what Wrangler you have, diesel vs 4xe vs 2 door ect. it may be a possibility that you were sold the incorrect lift for you 4xe causing this.
That would be a very unique WJ! In person it is a awesome color in the sun! I don't know the paint code off-hand but I will try to find it. Thanks for the view!
That's a hard question, there are a lot of good brands. I am personally running a JKS brand trackbar on my Jeep and have been very happy with it. I'm not sure what the go to JL brand trackbar is currently in the JL world. Thanks for the view!
