Safa leads Lucas onto what is becoming a legendary descent in Mexico City, Avenida Constituyentes. Gone are the forests and open road. For twelve minutes, captured in one continuous shot, the two are constantly surrounded by vehicles as they re enter the city, never letting the pace ease up.
This is Mexico City, you can't ride like this anywhere else.

I am a big fan of Lucas' films, and I love watching bicycles film. But I think think this footage is the craziest, most impressive film I've ever watched. All those cars, vehicles... those useless vehicles ! You (Safa) go pass all of them. They're stuck and you go pass them all. Hope we'll find a way to change the way cities have been built, and stop the "dictature" of cars (even if it's fun to ride in traffic).

Thank you. You couldn't have said it better. It is actually a really sad sight but at least we can do something interesting and fun with all that traffic and show that much of the time there is a better way. Ps. All the films on my channel are actually my films, but I definitely needed Lucas to film the ones he has been involved with.

I love watching your video Safa! You're one of the reason why I love riding my 725. One day I hope to be able to run monster gear ratios like you did in Ochenta. Also Lucas Brunelle is an amazing camera man. One shot without looking around like crazy in that traffic. This work is really impressive.

Hi Ruthana, thanks! Keep rocking the 725, I use the 7 series for messenger work everyday in Mexico City. I usually run much smaller gears than I did in Ochenta, it's all about leg speed and agility on the streets. I waited a long time before filming down this Avenue because I knew only Lucas would keep up like that.

There's plenty of space between cars, they go pretty slow, they dont' do crazy moves to the sides: it's a safe place to go for a ride.

+ca ruiz Yes, it's a really tough city to ride in. Definitely the most dangerous I've ridden in because no one is paying attention or gives a shit about anyone else.

looks like average 21mph or so either way your handling skills are great 5:33 is where he goes fastest 28mph or so, these noob cyclist are quick to speak dude no studying not enough time behind different ratios to talk 6:30 your legs have a totally different tempo I believe your average starting climbing from there, tempo again zone 1 at 10:13 btw show your camera guy love he put in the same work you did.

Only thing is Lucas Brunelle (camera guy) rides a road bike most of the time he's filming. So not exactly the same work (in terms of pumping), but he's still a beast, not to mention he's 43!

If we ever went 21mph it would have been about the slowest speed we hit. As I said average was 28. Max close to 40.

Tengo una pregunta: ¿La vía por donde iban solo era para carros? por que solo vi una moto en todo el recorrido y así que chiste Jajajajajajajaja vengan a Bogotá y vera como es que va parando a cada rato por las motos y los carros en la misma via, por cierto buen video y espero una respuesta ya que no conozco Mexico

Conducir una bici no te el derecho para estar por encima del reglamento: te pasas los altos, no señalas tus cambios de carril y circulas por una vía prohibida para las bicicletas, entre otras faltas. Pones en riesgo tu vida de una forma absurda. No veo ninguna razón para aplaudir esta "azaña". Y lo peor es la fama que le creas a los ciclistas. Deplorable
