@@carina2091 Their summer love harmonies and their little things harmonies are just so beautifully orchestral. Their voices just merge so incredibly well, if they did a collab it would literally be such an insane hit. Love Zayn’s vocals too.
Louis, being the tenor, sings the melody while the other boys mostly harmonize around him. It's like that in a lot of their songs which is why Louis' voice is so prominent. On the songs where Louis sings harmony he doesn't stand out as much.
Facts. I’ve been trying to explain this to someone else. If you’re on main melody your voice has to stand out because it’s almost like you’re singing a solo and the harmonies around your vocals are embellishments. The main harmonisers were Liam and Niall.
The first time I heard this song, Liam’s velvety tone just captured and held my attention right from the beginning. It’s the way his first verse has very few instrumentals behind it, you can hear his clear pitch perfect voice in all its beauty and it’s honestly breathtaking in parts.

If you watch any 1D harmonies video, Liam’s the one who harmonises the most and sounds the best paired with every one of the guys. I guess it’s something to do with the fact that he can match all of their vocal ranges. You can hear Louis’ beautiful voice above the fray in choruses, because he’s always on the main melody, but he doesn’t tend to harmonise. The harmonies were mostly Liam and Niall. In almost all live performances Liam does a mix of backing, high and low harmonies.

Omg I feel ya Steven. I've only started listening to them like 2,5 years ago and missed out on all of this as well. I know who they were back in the days but never decided to listen to them. I feel so sad knowing that I missed out on all those MOMENTS 🥺But at least I'm happy to be a part of the fandom now! That's the beauty of music. It's timeless 💕
Watching their movie This is us made me fall for the band. And that's where I first noticed Louis. Like you said here, I just suddenly noticed his voice in the choruses and from there on he took the place as my fav lad.

Moments is one of my favourite songs. Watching their live performances of this on Good Morning America is when I fall in love with Liam’s voice and one direction.

You can’t just hear Louis’ voice because his voice is so unique (of course that’s also a reason) but it’s mostly because this is just his part to sing and the other boys sing more softly or they are just not that close to the mic as Louis is.
Exactly. Louis doesn’t really harmonise because he’s almost always on the main melody of choruses. I’d say the harmonisers were mostly Liam and Niall. But they all played important parts.

I was so lucky and got to see One Direction live on 2 occasions but even I feel like that wasn’t enough so I get you when you say you wish you had been able to see them
I have only been listening to One Direction for 4 years(Sign of the times led me to them) I see how they had a massive teenage following, but believe they would have an even bigger following now, I am 64 and appreciate how under rated they were to the anti One Directioner's, I was guilty of not been interested in them because my son is the same age as them, I now own everything they have released as a band and individuals (sorry except Zayn, not my cup of tea) writing and production certainly knew how great their 5/4 voices harmonised, I believe if they do ever reunite their fan base would be much broader now :)

I saw 1D on their last tour after begging my parents since the beginning. It was also my first ever gig. Niall is, and will always be, my favourite. I remember wearing a t-shirt with his face on and he waved at me, made me feel so special. They really are such an amazing band, and the community was something else.
Every time I come to the realisation I have seen them live I get so emotional because I never had the opportunity to attend to many concerts, I live in Brazil, my favorite artists almost never come and when they do it’s so expensive I can’t afford it! So on my 15th birthday I asked my parents for tickets and they gave me and it was so special, the best day of my life 🤍
