Apparently Louis’ mom knew James before the boys were on X-Factor and asked James to check on them while they were living in London. They go way back and became friends in those early days.
I'm pretty sure Harry lived with James' long term producer for nearly a year when he went down to London just for a sense of stability. I think they're sort of extended family level close.
At the dancing scene those were all the stupid little dances they’ve done from X-factor (Louis said he would do the stop the traffic let them go to get a girl) throughout their career (they learned how to square dance on stage and said they would put it in a music video bc they all liked it). Every single dance move in that scene has a story behind it which is what makes it even cooler.

Louis’ mom, Jo, was a chaperone for kids on a TV show James Corden did way back in the day before Louis was in One Direction. So when the band was formed and Louis moved to London, Jo reached out to James and asked if Louis could have his number since they didn’t know anyone there. So him and the boys would hang out with James and they all got close

It’s funny you mention Good Charlotte because Benji and Joel Madden actually had a writing session with Louis and Liam! Sadly though no songs made the album. But a fan did tweet they wanted Louis to cover a Good Charlotte song and the band replied with their approval lol

ONE thing that i love watching in this video is the dance moves and maybe you don’t know this, but all of them are signature dances (as a joke) of them and i just LOVED that they put them in this video. And yes, I agree, the video represents who they are as a band and individuals really well James Corden (and his executive producer Ben Winston) had a huge impact on the bands' career. They supported them right from the beginning when they came fresh out of the x factor. And the two bonded over the fact that they wanted to conquer the American market ; the boys as a band and Ben and James with their show
All their silly dance moves they’ve done over the years being put into this video makes me want to cry. Can you blame him? I started with Harry and discover larry and Louis, now I just love Louis, he is gorgeous and sweet and talented and funny and sassy, all five are great but little Louis stole my heart
3 years later and i'm here hahaha those sub-par dance moves were their iconic moves. you could see those moves in a lot of the things they did 🤣 especially the rowing boat move
I was never a directioner, but I remember liking this MV when it came out. The song is also IMO one of the best songs by 1D. After becoming a fan of Harry's solo music, I have watched this differently. It's like watching a flower blossom. He's just so dang cute, and his (and Zayn's) vocals are on fire!
This music video is so chaotic and I feel like it’s very representative of them. I also know the entire script from the video and I’m not sure I should be proud of that
James Corden was very close to all the boys. He had met Louis and his family early on in their career and when the boys first moved to London, Louis' mom had called James and asked him to keep and eye on them and help them out if they needed anything. He is somewhat of a second father to them and was close to all of them since they first became a group, but specifically Louis and Harry he is very close to.
James Corden has known the boys since the X factor days, they also stayed at his house during that time and louis mum sent him an email saying to take care of louis

They said that was the most fun video for them to shoot just because it was a 100% them. They actually played real Fruit Ninja at hotels and venues. I mean… they were messy AF. Also, one of the big reasons they never danced on music videos and performances (among the fact 1D was a different boy band from the preexistence or traditional “format” of a boy band) was because Zayn hated to. In fact, he almost didn’t get through at The X Factor just because he refused to dance, even in front of the judges.
Harry saved my life from considering suicide in 6, 7th and 8th grade. Loved them since the band but Harry stood out to me and not bc he’s gorgeous, bc he made me smile and actually feel happy besides feeling numb with anxiety and depression. He made my life and I can’t wait to tell him at his concert. Thanks for the upload, made me emotional 😭 I’m in high school now but no one can ever change my mind in these boys.
the best thing about 1D music videos is almost all of them are just fun and looking like the boys are having the time of their lives the only one i'd say is 'serious' is gotta be you though i still crack up at the 'act sad' part of the footage lol i mean hell, even little things had a lot of playful elements
