Join me for one last spin on the lathe as I craft an pretty Elm Natural Edge Vase in my soon-to-be old workshop. Hello Mike. What a wonderful piece to turn as your final “hurrah” to your old home. I am sure it will now have an honourable place in your new home and remind you of treasured memories for many years. Please do not worry about responding to all the comments you receive. Most of us spend a few minutes “dropping you a line”, whereas responding to so many will take hours. And I am sure that the vast majority of your viewers will be more than content with that. Besides - responding takes you away from turning!! None of us want that! 😁😁 In the meantime, I do hope your move goes well - kettle, mugs tea/coffee and a packet of biscuits being the first things to be unpacked 😉

What a lovely homage to the source of these beautiful pieces: trees! So often in woodworking a finished piece hardly resembles wood, with grain so fine or finishes so glossy or colored epoxy everywhere. I love this vase!

The Elm population in North America was nearly wiped out in the 80s and 90s from dutch elm disease (just the name, nothing against the Dutch!) It's good to see it again! Especially in such a neat piece. Wishing you a smooth, painless, and rapid move, Mike!
