A review of my flight with Swiss / Air Baltic in business class. Flight booked with Swiss for London Heathrow to Zurich but operated by Air Baltic aircraft and crew.

Interesting to see that the plane behind you, visible as you turn onto the runway is an actual Swiss plane. Geneva I guess.

Nice review and encouraging for my trip with Edelweiss to CPT, also fed by Air Baltic to Zurich. 0:42 : the UK still is Europe. Maybe not EU or Shenghen . But still geographically Europe.

Thanks, I agree it’s still Europe. I mean to say if you’re flying towards another European country you use this lounge. Non European destinations (large aircraft) mostly use the B gates where there are other lounges

Not sure if your from the UK, but often here we call the mainland Europe, so flying from London to Paris we would say we are flying "into Europe" and that is just very usual.

Why fly intra-European Business? I mean it is the same seat in Economy unless you want to detour via Istanbul

While we all agree that there are no proper business class seats on intra-European flights (apart from TK possibly), there are a number of reasons why people choose to pay for this ticket. It's the additional benefits that come with it like additional luggage, lounge access (especially at busy airports), a blocked middle seat (or guaranteed sitting alone as in this case for me) etc.

There are still some routes in Europe that fly widebodies. Finnair flies their A350 to AMS, LHR and BRU. IB has a daily to LHR in the A350 or A330 (also used to have a daily to MXP but not sure that’s still the case). Icelandair has plenty of flights with their 767. LH has the 747 flying to PMI in summer and Swiss their 777. Aer Lingus has a daily to Malaga on an A330. Air Europa flies their 787 to pretty much every capital city in Europe. All of that without counting the airlines that sell tickets on intra-European flights like Latam, Singapore, Thai… It would be great if you could catch one of those flights and do a review sometime! Great review as usual!
