Holy hell!!! When I was a teenager I made a custom deck that was all mimicks with flip effects that would attenpt to bait your opponent into attacking them for a kinda little reward big consequence!!! This is awesome!!!

I can also see them added to something like Skylanders or just have figures/toys in general for them. Imagine getting these little guys in a Happy Meal as a kid? I would fucking love that shit. Back when they toys were actually fun.

Them being flipped up on your opponents field and then returning to yours would still work for Terrors in the Hidden City Combined with the field spell these things can get BIG
Play Dungeon, set Room, normal summon THE MASTER, and give them Archfiend. On your opponent’s turn, if they flip summon Archfiend to remove the restriction, you can use Room to give them Dragon. Then THE MASTER can flip Dragon to blow up their field if they manage to still make something threatening.
Exactly this! Room can get Master if you're missing him, but it's also great for keeping Dungeon's floodgating live since what it summons can't be Flip Summoned that turn.
In 2011 I posted a create-a-card archetype that focused on putting negative flip affects onto your opponent's field. I went on to have Ghostrick and Subterror as some of my favorite archetypes. This new archetype was made for me.
You can only fuse with facedown on your side of the field as the others are technically private knowledge, even if you know from beforehand because you summoned them on your opponent side, it is still private info so you would be able to use them as material for a super polymetization
neat thing about all these cards is that they can't really use them for special summoning from the extra deck since they need to flip them face up first to do that, so basically you clog their field with monsters so they can't combo while you do your thing. And most decks can't do much about them. The concept is great. Will this be relevant in the meta with all the Diabellestar decks? Most likely not.
Goddamn an actual decent flip archetype (looks at shaddoll) thats interesting. Surprised that konami didn't fuck this up and make it require dark mimic LV1 and LV3
I wonder if sword of revealing light would be a fun tech card since it will flip the chests and trigger the effects if master is blocked from doing it.
I’m very excited to get my hands in these guys, probably the most excited for an archetype in a long long long time. I hope they give us some more monsters spells and hopefully 🙏 a couple fusions.
Honestly I feel like these cards are a bit stronger than they appear as they dodge effect negation due to their since most monster negates specifically state it has to be an opponents monster so things like imperm won't be as useful as usual.
Important note is while your opponent can flip them themselves out of the order you want they basically can't do much else til they do. They can fusion with them if they play specific mons but can't link, sync, xyz and pretty sure they can't ritual (lv1s mostly so not going to matter but it could).
This also made that trap that brings two Flip monsters from your GY to your opponent, useful actually. Or at least fun and have a use now. I never understood why they made a trap like that years ago, especially since it was used by that Prediction Princess user I think?
Deck looking solid. Don't like Fire Sorcerer in the deck since Maker has randomness involved, its "exactly" and not "up to" 2 cards meaning your opponent will still have cards in hand if you don't got setup, and its a Garnet if its in your hand turn 1.Been using the jars for maker since Maker needs 1 card to start instead of using a 3 card combo
Guard Dog in BLTR makes so much sense now you can either use the Spell to give it potentially to your opponent flip it and stop them Special summoning or give them Fire Sorcerer who makes them lose hand advantage which could be crucial to their plays
I just watched a video that came out yesterday (what if crump beat tea) that said fire sorcerer is such a horrible card that Tea used because losing 2 cards for a tiny burn is awful, and now a deck came out that can summon her to your opponent's field and force them to lose cards! crazy coincidence lol
So what do they need to be rogue/competitive…. Maybe 1 more consistency card (dragon is nice, but I’d also like to summon it to the opponents field), and a payoff? Maybe something to help close the gap between them and shaddoll cause that would add a lot of power? The only thing is that they feel like they will struggle to close out games. What do yall think they need?
Kinda odd that Archfiend can actually work in a Archfiend deck. So long as you always have 2 of them. Mostly for rank 2 plays or a palylabrinth search.
I gotta say, my expectations for this archetype were rock bottom on reveal (the precedent was set by previous tcg exclusive archetypes) but honestly? Im about them
Let’s just add in the fact that if you flip them while on your opponent’s field, they are your opponent’s monster effects which turn on Talent and Thrust for you. Let’s keep that advantage going
