This video demonstrates how to perform the Unipedal (One-leg Stance) protocol. This test is an excellent method for determining balance in the adult population. Since unipedal balance is important in proper gait, poor performance on this test indicates a high risk for falls and fractures.
These CSEP guidelines are under constant revision - If you notice any mistakes or out-of-date information, please let me know in the comments so I can update the video accordingly.

Typically, a person in their 50s should be able to balance on one leg for around 40 seconds. Someone in their 60s is looking at 20 seconds, and someone in their 70s is around 10 seconds,”

That's not the procedure for the standard 10-second OLS for people 55 and over.
