I love to go out and convince myself - instead of being leaded by prejudice. That's why I decided to investigate Bangkoks most homosexual district as a straight man and experience how it really is.
I was a bit uncompfortable going with all my camera equipment but all people welcomed me totally open. The only thing I couldn't manage was an official interview with a controversial couple as at least one of them fear some social ban back in their home country.
However. Really great experience at Silom, Soi 4. And cool to see Thailand is such an open country for diversity human being.
WHO AM I?
I am Marcin Zabinski - a passionate filmmaker and photographer who loves to explore the world. I believe that traveling and constant educating ourself makes this world a better place in terms of tolerance, collaboration, respecting each other and environmental awareness. Therefore I am happy to produce documentaries about places and I hope to give you some inspiration to travel and explore our beautiful planet.

I am gay and I assume myself I'm Canadian and Gay couple can get married and adopt kids but what you do is not fair and if someone see their kid or a coworker and they live in another country, you can put them in a lot of problems. They can loose their job or kick out of the house and out of their family. Their are a lot of family who are not open about having a Gay child.

you mean like showing some people? this is public area... and quite sad that humans cannot be what ever they want to be. also. i didn't show the couple who fears consequences back home.

@@Zabination If you come from the United States you should be in the best position to know that since the laws that certain states have adopted regarding abortion and LGBTQ are quite retrograde and that a Gay can lose his job without having the right to defend himself. There was a Gay doctor, I don't remember in which state he lived in with his boyfriend and his child who had to move to another state to continue working in a hospital. We're not talking about a garbage collector here. You film the two guys leaving saying where he works and the age difference they have, you didn't have to say where they worked or show them when they left. If you want to film people in your trip film people who are local. Don't film people who are there for a trip, everybody know Bangkok is known as a destination for Gays and there is a danger for them with a guy like you who will show them on RU-vid and one last thing. Drag queen bars are not representative for Gay lifestyle.

@@Xavier-Denis the couple left is another one. However. Public area. Everyone is filming and photographing nowadays so everyone should be aware of what he is doing in public place. Easy. I was born in Poland, grew up in Germany and the world… not super familiar with US culture but happy about new infos 🙏 cheers

@@Zabination I live in Montreal, Quebec and we are known for being the most liberal province in Canada. Sorry, I thought you were American and with everything going on in our southern neighbors, we find it troubling, especially with the possibility of Trump returning to power. We had a case of a woman who had her photo taken when she was sitting in her stairs at home and her photo ended up in a magazine without her knowing or being asked. The photographer was forced to pay her a big sum of money and he was forced to have the issue of the magazine removed. It cost him a fortune and the only time the law has said we can take a photo of someone is when the person(s) is in the news, otherwise we need their permission. When you talked about the two men who did not want to be filmed but that you had shown two other men, you are not telling us that it is not them. Your lucky I wasn't there, I would have rubbed your ... LOL End of the story. (excuse my English, I speak French)

Disclosing someone about their sexual identity without consent isn’t right! Thailand is a safe space for LGBTQIA + community 🏳️‍🌈 let everyone who’s in the closet open their own doors. Please be sensitive all the time and be a responsible content creator.
