In hockey some players stand out as figures both revered and reviled. Renowned for their mastery in unsettling opponents, they earn a reputation as notorious "shift disturbers". Brad Marchand, Corey Perry and Tom Wilson, however none of these guys were as dirty and as skilled as the player in today's video boys
beneath this players levels of controversy there was a skillful artisan of the game, whose prowess as a goal scorer remains unmatched, despite only really being remembered for the dirty plays and handful of off ice antics he made along the way he was a hellova goal scorer. Despite polarizing opinions, this individual commanded a level of respect few could deny, owing not solely to his ability to provoke, but also to his undeniable talent on the ice.in todays video boys were gonna dive into the intriguing dichotomy of Dino Ciccarelli, portraying him as one of hockey's most enigmatic and multifaceted personalities.

My favorite sister Nancy was suffering from MS that later took her life at 41, it hit her 6 months after becoming a RN. I took her to see the North Stars hoping it would help. She forgot she had MS and fell in love with Dino, her happiness in saying yes was premeditated before i could even ask if she wanted to go. Thank you Dino and the fans that gave my sister so much joy. ❤️‍🩹

Dino played the only way a smaller guy with an attitude could in those days. He is the only player’s jersey signed in my basement, framed and hanging. He was a tough SOB who never backed down and my favorite all time player. If I could have played at that level, he was the one player I would have emulated. Great skills, compete, hands and a nightmare for the opposition. I miss the Al Secord days with the Hawks. Thank you Dino 🦖!!

I am one of those people who grew up in London but never cheered for a Toronto sports franchise- it was always the Red Wings and the Tigers. I remember Dino playing for the Knights and thought that it was cool when he began his NHL career in the same colours- I was a kid at the time. As a Wings fan, it was great to see him parked in front of the net like it was his office, taking a beating but always managing to generate a goal or enough chaos to make sure someone else got one. The guy was like a honey badger out there. It really is too bad that a player who put so much sweat and blood into the team did not get to win a Stanley Cup with Detroit. Thanks for the video!

As a North Star fan, I loved Dino. He was a force to be feared, but off the ice, I will never forget meeting him at Davanni's in Minnetonka where I took his order for a hoagie. I was in high school and he was standing there. I took his order and then asked for his autograph on a Davanni's napkin. It was a rush for me to say into the speaker: "Dino, your hoagie is ready". A true hockey player to say the least.

In Minnesota, I was on the Cedar Avenue Bridge heading south from Bloomington. Some clown in a corvette was purposely hanging in my blindspot. The car moved a little forward and it was Dino with a big grin on his face. I just mouthed "Dino" to him and smiled back. Dino is still a shrine in Minnesota. We loved him. Him vs Al Second and Dennis Savard. Dino would take on the world for the North Stars. Great player with heart. Those were fun years.

@@aaronpetzel4645 .Sorry pretzel, I missed the sincerity in your comment, I guess I’m the one who needs to settle down. One thing I’ll never understand is why the North Stars left Minnesota. Hockey is so big up there. When we did road trips that way in early 80’s we were amazed that when turning on the tv in the hotel room to see the news, most everything on television was about high school or college hockey even though the Stars were home playing the Hawks, you guys are just nuts about hockey up there compared to Chicago. Even though we were all Hawks fans in my neighborhood back in the early 70’s there was only one kid who had a Hawks jersey, everyone had something different, I had a North Stars jersey.
@aaronpetzel4645
@aaronpetzel4645 Месяц назад
No worries man, I could have put my comment in context. The owner/ owners of the Stars kind of neglected them, though they were still doing well and had a cup run. I think they saw the money in the move and were out to a shiny new home and the additional money it would bring. They sorta blamed it on fan support and maybe there were arena demands that were not met. Kinda shady, people felt betrayed.

"innocent until proven guilty" applies only to a court of law, not to a court of public opinion. What they say: “[Police] have sufficient grounds to believe that a criminal offense did occur.” What they really mean: "He's guilty, but he'll get off because he and his teammates will lie under oath." If you don't think NHL players are willing to commit perjury to protect one another, see "Maltby, Kirk" and "Weight, Doug."

One of Mr. Ciccarelli's moments I remember was when he was "arrested" for walking around outside of his house without any pants on eventually the justice system let him know he can only be a naturalist inside of his home One of my favorite players from the 80s, two time 50 goal scorer for the Stars, played on some very good Capitals teams, and after playing four good seasons in Detroit, he did play one last full very good season for Tampa Bay before it was over for Dino, and of course three almost five seasons of over one hundred PIMs. I appreciate the Minnesota Wild, but I do miss the Minnesota North Stars.

I promise you Dino was not more skilled than Brad Marchand Corey Perry or Tom Wilson. You have to take into account how easy it was to score goals in that era. There’s 10 guys maybe that transcend that era difference in the NHL. All of them have multiple seasons with scoring stats that exceed a Conor Mcdavid MVP season today. If a players scoring stats from the 70-80s doesn’t exceed the stats of todays top players, the truth is, they probably wouldn’t be able to play in todays NHL. Evolution is fast when player development and youth training becomes completely dialed in scientifically to help a young player improve. They did none of that in that era and they also didn’t have access to a lot of foreign talent. Resources and Politics kept some Ovechkin level 70s talent, in Russia their whole career. If they didn’t play at all in the mid nineties or later, scale those scoring metrics. Good video though.

Plus all the holding and interference, the two line pass the stick work and the fact you had one official trying watch it all. Almost impossible to compare the two eras but you are correct that today’s game is faster more wide open and a bigger talent pool.

Dumb comment . Dino’s era was was ten fold in the level of brute physicality and force . Yeah you could argue that goaltending back then wasn’t the quality it is today , but then also remind yourself goaltenders back then wore much smaller equipment and generally were of smaller stature . Darren Pang , Andy Moog , Grant Fuhr , Pete Peeters , etc come to mind . Everything is relative my friend. If you could score during this era of serial killer NHL then you could sure as hell still score during this era of the fem boy Nancy boy privileged youth player NHL . Please stop. The majority of guys who made the NHL back then , DID NOT , come from privilege and it showed on the ice. The exact opposite is true today and sadly it does show . Playing during this era you best remind yourself , every time you touched the puck , to keep your head up . For if you forget for one second then another player was going to quickly do the reminding for you and you can bet the ref wasn’t gonna call it anyway - very much unlike today where the ref puts his hand up left and right . Half of these “ skill guys “ today for all we know may have been just be too damn scared to pull off the antics that they do today back then . Tom Wilson in all of skill , size and toughness still doesn’t hold a candle to the likes of “ Bam Bam “ Cam Neely ( one of few players to join the list of guys to score 50 goals in 50 games with Neely doing so in 49 in the 1993 - 1994 season ) who ironically was one of those same players who suffered the consequences of that level of physicality when he had his career cut short playing in the league during this time. Neely would have easily joined the 600 goal club , sheet maybe even the 700 goal club , if the length of his career wasn’t hampered by injuries and then finally his career was eventually cut way too short due to those lagging injuries . The Guy almost put up 400 goals despite all this and the NHL and his colleagues rightly recognized as much which is exactly why he was still elected in the Hall of Fame. Don’t mess with Sea Bass and old school hockey . He will spit in your burger and make you eat it for talking such smack .

There is also other testimony to suggest she was a willing participant, regardless of any evidence of sexual activity, and that she was more than likely looking for a pay day after the fact in being more than , what’s the word , ya yes “ consensual “ to the very act itself.
