Polanco is known for being a rich and upscale neighborhood in Mexico City. It surly did not disappoint. We have been traveling in Mexico for four months in our van and this was by far one of the most upscale areas we came across. It was beautiful. The shopping, food and museums were amazing!
We highly recommend you take a trip to Polanco when you visit Mexico City. Seek out Fabianas Pizza and get the sourdough! Mexico and pizza usually do not go well, but this place was out of this world!
Hey! We are Geo and Allie. We sold our house, bought a Sprinter Van and hit the Road. Geo runs a business from the road and Allie focuses on putting her energy into the kids education and our next destination. We are originally from Baltimore MD, but our travels will take us all around the country.

one of the best polanco secrets is Turix, an amazing traditional fonda, which specialize on cochinita pibil, is almost next to Lincoln park, and next to it, one of the best new bakeries in Mexico, called Marne. :)

Eli, thanks for the advice! We will have to check this out next time we are in Polanco. Good bakeries are amazing! Thank you.

Hi guys, great video! if you ever find yourselves back in Polanco definitely check the Soumaya museum the building is beautiful and the art collection it's superb, it's free to enter, also for another wealthy neighborhood there's Santa Fe but it's more or less the same vibe as Polanco, a lot of high-rises and offices and malls but almost no street food there, and it's definitely more isolated from the city, the La Mexicana park is really nice there. I've seen some suggestions about Lomas de Chapultepec, but to be honest you will find a few posh restaurants, cafes and just a lot of mansions and tons of security so not really tourist/pedestrian friendly most really affluent areas in Mexico are really closed off and to be honest not much to see there just really tall walls with vines lol. aside from those another neighborhood that it's really nice is San Angel specially if you go when the art market is open on Saturdays, another recommendation would be the Chapultepec Castle, it's the only castle in America that housed royalty at some point and now it's the National History Museum, the terrace gardens and stained glass windows are just a beautiful sight. wish you safe travels and hope you have a great time in Mexico!~
@BookItTravel
@BookItTravel Год назад
Hey Eanui, we will definitely be back in Mexico City. Hopefully Polanco. Yes we heard the Soumaya museum was a must visit. We just could not drag the kids there that day. We will have to check it out when we return. Thanks for the info about Lomas De Chapultepec! I never would of guessed that it was so closed off. But that makes sense. We have not heard of San Angel, we will have to check it out. Do you live in Mexico City? You are a wealth of knowledge. Appreciate all the info and support!
@Eanui
@Eanui Год назад
@@BookItTravel Hiya! Soumaya is definitely worth a visit I think one of the greatest things that CDMX can offer is the museums, it's the second city with most museums in the world just behind London so everyone can find something they like. yeah San Angel is not so known since it's a bit far from the city center, the vibe is similar to Coyoacan with cobblestone roads and the art and artisans markets, it's really pretty and definitely a good spot to visit during a Saturday just to check out the amazing art and architecture it feels almost like visiting another city. I'm from Mexico city and used to work there but I'm currently living in Canada! safe travels!

I love videos on upscale Mexico. People think Mexico as a poor country but some of the wealthiest people in the world live in Mexico. Think Jose Cuervo or Carlos Slim. High class Mexican neighborhoods are cool because the people are skinnier (they are more health conscious) and the atmosphere is more relaxed. Both middle class neighborhoods and upper class neighborhoods are valid. You would be surprised at how many cities in Mexico have upscale neighborhoods such as polanco.

It was a good video but you could have made it even better if you just had made at least twice longer! that is at least some 15 minutes long or something like that! and also with much more content about what you could find in that very wealthy area of Mexico City! from the Presidente Mazarick avenue (which is like the "Rodeo Drive" of Mexico City) to the big shopping centers there such as: "Plaza Antara", "Plaza Carso" and "Pabellón Polanco" besides their great department stores such as: "Liverpool " and "El Palacio de Hierro"! or their really great museums in that area such as: "The Soumaya Museum", "The National Museum of Antropology, The National Museum of History in the "Castillo de Chapultepec"! which also happens to be the only Castle in America! among many other museums and touristic places there! since even the 5 Star Hotels in that very elegant area are very nice to see: such as: "The Hyatt Regency Polanco", The Marriott Polanco Hotel, the Camino Real Hotel, among many other very interesting hotels! and the restaurants! and other places to eat! you did include some of that but you could have shown us some more at least from outside! since its impossible to show all of them in just one video! and much less to eat in all of them in just one video!

Ramon! Thank you so much for the amazing comment! You are so right. We hardly scratched the surface of Polanco. Sooo much else to talk about, do and see. We left thinking the same thing. We did walk Presidente Mazarick ave which was amazing. We heard about the Soumaya Museum, but could not make it there. Yes to all the things! Polanco was an amazing city. Do you live there now?

@@BookItTravel I'm glad that you took this comment well as a constructive suggestion! maybe for your next video there if you come back there sometime! and in other things you also certainly have a very good intuition! since even though I don't live now in the Polanco area now I used to live there for many years! but that was some years ago! although I still go there very often for businness and for shopping! but now I live in a neighboring area called Anzures. 👍🙏

Polanco is a fancy neighborhood, not one of the richest. The richest neighborhoods of DCMX are not near the center of the city and most of Mexico's richest neighborhoods are not even in this city. The title of your video should say ( If I may have an opinion on the title of your videos) "Polanco, a fancy neighborhood in Mexico City". Or course gringos want everything to be sensational. Nice vid though.

@@BookItTravelPolanco is like the Beverly Hills of Mexico City. As you noticed by the stores, it is a wealthy area. Lomas de Chapultepec is wealthier. It's like the Bel Aire of Mexico City. There's another very upscale neighborhood on the extreme west side of the city called Santa Fe. Santa Fe is not as accessable by public transport, there's no subway access.
