We were blown away Coyoacán. We spent a week in Mexico City and explored as much as we could. We got a recommendation to head over to Coyoacán and we were not disappointed.
If you want to follow our stops for the day we linked them below. You will find directions to each spot via a google maps link.
Cafe Jarocho- bit.ly/3zs4mYE
Artensal Market - bit.ly/3PGsUCC
Churreria General de la Republica- bit.ly/3PxUja2
Mercado De Coyoacán- bit.ly/3J16Z6U
We recommend spending a full day exploring Coyoacán. We took the subway from the central history district in Mexico City. The transportation was very cheap and reliable!
Hey! We are Geo and Allie. We sold our house, bought a Sprinter Van and hit the Road. Geo runs a business from the road and Allie focuses on putting her energy into the kids education and our next destination. We are originally from Baltimore MD, but our travels will take us all around the country.

Fun fact, Jarocho refers to someone or something from the state of Veracruz, which is one of the areas known for coffee. You should visit Orizaba in Veracruz, if you haven't yet and also if you want some good coffee. It is also a Pueblo Magico

Loved your video. That "feel" you mention I think has a lot to do with Coyoacán basically being just a small town, with its own main plaza, mercado, etc. which (and like many other MC neighborhoods now) was swallowed by the big city 60-70 years ago but still retains most of its essence.

Hi there! Thank for this video!! We are on Exploratory Trip #2 to Mexico to look into some part time living (we live in Ouray, CO). The first was to Mazatlan. We really liked the Centro area, except that it is hot/humid in the summer. So, we came to Mexico City on this trip. We headed straight for Centro for a couple of days. I was really worried as we were totally not feeling it in CDMX Centro. Then yesterday, we went to Coyoacan. We loved it! Today was Roma and Condesa....and weren't feeling it again. We have 3 more days in CDMX. Our next trip will be in February or March 2023 to Oaxaca. Safe travels!
