You completely missed the part about Ryan Grigson and the Colts management failing to get him a decent offensive line and barely helping him during his surgery and rehab. That wasn’t a result of a reckless play style, the franchise let him down.

The front office? Maybe try blaming the REAL problem. Ryan Grigson. It was the fault of their GM and their GM alone. He cared more about his ego than the team. There are multiple coaches that have come out since then and told stories of how Grigson outright REFUSED to draft offensive linemen despite the extreme need for it. I hate hearing the same old “wah wah colts front office this and that”. They did what they could, not sure if you understand football but the GM? Ryan Grigson? He holds a little bit more power than the coaching staff.

@RyanAlexanderBloom
@RyanAlexanderBloom 2 года назад
I don’t think RG3 ever had potential. He’s just so fragile. If you look at his knees even before all the injuries there’s just something mechanically unsound about them. He was always going to have knee injuries. And in fact he had 3 in 5 years.
@DrZaius3141
@DrZaius3141 2 года назад
Those organizations are largely responsible for those injuries. Coaches back then were too stupid to make use of dual threat QBs. That's actually what made Kaepernick so special, because he was smart enough to avoid those big injuries. Nowadays, RPOs and QB draws are designed in a way that protects the QB much more. While Kyler Murray for example has had a few injuries, there were barely any tackles that felt like they could be career enders.
@Raisin_
@Raisin_ 2 года назад
@@RyanAlexanderBloom don't think you cant ever say someone "never had potential" without ever witnessing such. the redskins were in a tough spot having sean taylor's passing and their believed franchise qb campbell traded for a washed up donovan mcnabb. I lived in DC during this time and literally EVERYBODY was expecting RG3 to be our savior. He was pushed too much and asked to do things out of his comfort zone very early on before he even got to show he was his own thing. This is why you hear so many people say 'he was lamar jackson before lamar jackson was lamar jackson'. That goes to show how better of a coach John Harbaugh is and the Ravens organization is than the Redskins were

I have to appreciate you making a video like this, if for no other reason than you KNOW full well you can't make it without talking about another dark moment in the history of your favorite team. I also never thought about the Robert Griffin III tragedy like that before. I always thought that management completely screwed him after his injury, but I guess there's another side of the story. That definitely explains why he never had a resurgence after he left Washington, much as I wanted him to. (....Well, that and he kept getting extra injuries on top of his old one... So I'd still say it's mostly tragic and not what he deserved.)

Correction: Ryan Tannehill was not a receiver when he went to A&M. He was a QB who was beat out by Jerrod Johnson. Tannehill wanted to play, so they had him play wide receiver and due to his athleticism, he shined at WR, but he still attended the QB room meetings and was still listed as a backup QB. When Jerrod Johnson got injured, Tannehill got his chance and was spectacular. He played midway through his junior year and all of his senior year. Sorry, but I think it's important to correct the record. Tannehill was handicapped the first part of his career at Miami with an incompetent owner, head coaching carousel, and porous O-LIne.

Tannehill's career revival is pretty neat. He landed in the best possible situation for himself and has maximized it. Even with this season being a little rough, they're still vying for the top AFC playoff spot. Tennessee got a solid QB for a song when they traded for him. The last portion of Wilson's rookie season seems rarely discussed. We knew in the Seattle region that he was turning into something special. I think it was the Chicago game where he led a 90 yard drive in the 4th quarter to tie the game, then another 90 yard drive in OT to win it. That was the "Oh wow" moment where his will to win was truly evident. Then they destroyed Arizona, Buffalo and San Francisco late in the season, beat RGIII in the playoffs and had one of the greatest 4th quarter comebacks against the Falcons the following week. It's a shame they couldn't stop Tony Gonzales of course. But Seattle fans went into 2013 knowing Wilson and that team was going to be special. The feeling that off season was unique and well, turned out to be correct.
