@@netweed09 I highly recommend looking up Ceave Gaming, that's where I learned this stuff. I haven't watched him in a hot while, but I remember him explaining all kinds of things regarding the mechanics of this game

Global ground is a concept that exists in platformers since forever, it is a basic concept of game design that is not necessary to know to play a game. Just answer the question when someone asks about information that you think is common knowledge, don't be that guy.

Maybe he just didn't know that platforms are global ground.

It's cuz Ryu is good at platforming but doesn't bother trying to be creative with his own levels. All his levels are well-themed but generic platforming and you can see it in his series as well. Anything outside of normal platforming is either "hot garbagio" or "jank" to him. He doesn't bother learning about intricate designs that go in to some of these levels (if you can even call global ground as "intricate") because he never learned to appreciate the concepts that went into the levels he enjoy. This is why I love carl tbh. He's nowhere near as good as Ryu at Mario, but he's always appreciative and always learning on how this game works - really shows who has more love for this game.
