Not everyone has the same resources as available in the US. I'm sure the owner cares about the horse, but lacks the money and specialists to handle it. Many less fortunate people rely on their animals to live, and feel jast as bad when they're unwell.
Great help in treatment of horses hooves ,watching from the uk .... on vacation ... but live in western Australia ... You are a great help for horses and their owners .... thankyou for all you do to relieve their pain and worry for the horses owners....without your help many horses would be slaughtered !

Disgusting, disgraceful and shocking animal cruelty, for the neglect. Criminal charges should be laid to the owner. That hoof trimmers should and must report cases of neglect like this poor animal.

@@jjoflower6811 Then you would judge the same way on 100 % of the "overgrown hooves - donkeys" from the Far (?) East(?)! The trimmers have to wait for the owners to place the order for hoof-trimming - that means that the owners who have to pay are more responsible for the neglect than the trimmers. --- The last photograph showed the hoof not being finished.--- I think most of the RU-vidrs demand several updates.
UK. How often is this hoof trimmed? There was a lot of excess growth, isn't it possible to trim it much more often, then the reshaping may help it function better, which may then help it grow better? Seems to be a lot of infection round the coronary band.
Hi guys. The episodes are great. Learned a lot about animal hooves and the the problems that fest them. The only shortcoming is the camera angle that darkens the view with shadows. If this is addressed , voila, much better viewing.
You are so patient with the animal and are willing to work with the animal’s hoof to make it as good as it can be for right now right now, and then return to keep improving the hoof over time. I wonder if Epsom salts would help the big guy have less pain. From New Mexico, USA
Sedalia, Missouri That is the worest i have ever seen a horses hoof. I dont understand why it had to get that bad before it was taken care of? Poor horse, they are such incredible animals. That you for your care of this fine animal. I think the owner should not be allowed to have a horse.
I see you have a hoof stand. How do you like it? I have had one about 12 years and love mine. Watching from New York State USA. Don't let the negative comments upset you. Am injury to the coronary band, effects the blood flow to the hoof, foe hoof growth. It will nevwr be perfwct, normal again. Best you can do is make thw hotse as comfortable and functional as you can.
This is infuriating to see! I certainly hope the farrier is reporting these animal's owners for animal cruelty/neglect. We cannot allow those irresponsible pet owners to get away with this abuse! Those poor creatures don't have a voice, so we have to speak up for them. And yes, neglecting or abusing an animal is a crime. It should always be reported to the local police, humane society, or some other animal welfare group. 😱😡😭

Just a suggestion… rafter you’ve sloughed away the broke and necrotic parts… try soaking that lower leg and hoove in a strong solution(Bernadine, peroxide, baking soda, chlorhexidne gluconate) one or the other for 10 minutes… that kills bacteria etc. and maggots etc. then proceed with applying more medicines and topicals and wrapping the lower leg and hoove… they may help
South Central New Mexico USA. I worked at a Paint horse show, training and breeding farm over 30 years ago. One of our breeding stallions broke his leg as a baby. He couldn't be ridden due to a leg deformity but he produced nice Paint babies.
Watching from Missouri - xray needed to see the coffin bone placement. Thrush medicine for frog, medicine/antibiotic oral & ointment for hoof for abcess and bute for pain MINIMUM treatment besides trim...poor thing!
I really think you should have washed the whole Huff, especially since there were bugs literally all over the thing! And then maybe put some sort of treatment on and wrapped it so it wasn't exposed to any more bugs while it was healing.
