@slav1201 Bro.....this is different from what we are getting, you don't know what you are saying. Toei and Wit are different independent studios, you got a great director and a studio that likes to make the series faithful to the manga. Go choke on a breadstick if you can't handle anything dramatic cause the One Piece remake wouldn't be too much hating would it if Wit handled it? Bro, no one would have any problems with the remake if Wit is taking the helm. Have you just come here to make everyone's mood in a sorry state, get over with that cringe statement, it's getting sick. If you ask me, you are insufferable, no one is asking your sorrowful pity over anything.
Honestly seeing them have props and draw frames while looking at the manga pages made me even more excited. And the production team is crazy! The _Attack on Titan_ director, the director of _Jujutsu Kaisen_ as your assistant director, the action director of _Demon Slayer,_ the writer of Ranking of Kings,_ and the _Spy x Family_ and _First Slam Dunk_ character designers! What‽ And it seems like they started production of this around the same time as season 1 of the live-action One Piece. Edit: they were the key animator of Demon Slayer, not action directors
@@samfisher6606 I am saying that, The production of the remake anime started at the same time as the production for season 2 of the Live Action, which is being filmed right now, if you don't know.
I looked into it, and among the staff announced, there were no staff members involved with Demon Slayer. All of Demon Slayer's main staff appear to be ufotable employees.
@@Zach014G Yeah, I always wanted to be with someone who I can share this masterpiece with, since I first watched it 10 years ago. First she didn't like it, because she randomly watched some random Wano episodes with me, because she had no way of ukderstanding any of the contexts of course. But we went from ep 1 to newest manga chapter in 11 months, and now she is the biggest fan!
naw it gon be a great experience, i cant lie the anime pacing is what made ppl dislike one piece, cuz i alr watched the series since i was a kid i didnt have any problem but now the remake will give new ppl a chance to experience the amazing story of one piece
you have one pace, there has never been an excuse. Wit is not going to cover the whole story only the early parts which means you have to watch rest of the 1000+ episodes.
@@WieldMyWord they wanna cover the whole story but thats only if people like what theyve done with the east blue saga they themselves said they want it to be long running and work on it forvever

Why watch remake ---> no recap syndrome, no bad pacing, no filler, no old 4:3 aspect ratio, modern animation, better soundtracks. A masterpiece story=masterpiece adaptation
@@Shiftarus Maybe not the soundtrack, but the sound design as a whole. The musics are great, but they are still using 90's Dbz sound effects in the latest arcs. Like whenever someone draws a sword, slashes with it, walks or runs etc. It might sound good for you due to nostalgic reasons, but honestly, it can be a lot better.
@@Shiftarustoei music is good but there are 100s of soundtracks and people only talk about 2 or 3, i would argue live action has a overall better soundtrack
The artstyle of the old one piece is something that can't be replicated due to the tools back then and the vibe. The early one piece pacing wasn't that bad, and I have a feeling they are going to rush it and not make 100 chapter through the season (there is just no hell its going to adapt all the way up to wano). The soundtrack is probably also going to be hard to nail without it looking wierd or hyper generic and not iconic at all.
I would love it if Oda was on an advisory role for the remake. He’s a busy man though. The One Piece remake will be huge for drawing audiences who didn’t like One Piece or didn’t start because it’s so long. Trim the fat off the original, give it great animation and pacing, and it’ll be a hit. Also if they animated the canon cover stories it’ll be so good. Some of them literally expand the one piece lore lol.
The issue is still there, they aren't going to cover the whole anime. It will take several decades in production time to catch up to current time which is very unlikely, my guess is that they are only going to cover the early parts of one piece just like the live action and then Wit is moving on to a new project.
Please Please keep this remake very faithful to the manga like having Luffy stab himself in the face, Buggy holding his crew member up and shot the cannon at him, Whitebeard fighting Akainu in Marineford losing half of his face and Zeff sacrificing for Sanji by eating his leg.
of they even do 12 - 24 episode seasons im all for it. Doesnt have to be none stop full send like one piece already does lol. But tbh even if it isnt seasonal and it drops every week I cant complain thats for sure. lol
This is almost everything I've been asking for! Attention to detail to the the world, giving each place it's own culture that stands out, I can already tell that they're going to go all out on furniture and foods to convey cultural shifts throughout the series! The only other things I want is more slice of life elements which it seems they are going for, I cannot wait!
This if done properly will be a masterpiece. Better pacing, animation, and dub obviously. 16:9 format. I hope they also include cover stories and a important sbs content too as we go along with this. And i think this can easily go up to wano.
You think The One Piece will get a English Dub? If so, you think it will be the same voice actors like for the original Funimation dub One Piece anime? Or will it be new English dub voice actors for 'THE One Piece'?
The concept art and production notes look amazing! I think if they decide to make them into a book and sell them, they would easily be able to finance future seasons of both the anime and the live action
Yeah the designs are supposed to be based on the manga at its early stages and beginning where the character designs were a bit rough but not as modern or streamlined as the latter parts of One Piece or "Modern Piece" are currently.
Does this mean we’ll have two different studios doing OP? As long they skip all filler anime, it looks fun and isn’t the toei anime to run until 2032?🤩
I hope they maintain these character models into the timeskip. So no tree-trunk necks or boulder boobs. By all means, show their designs change for being older, but no need for all characters to change if they were already adults to begin with. Just look at shows like Naruto. The students change over the timeskip, but the adults barely change at all. So characters like Shanks have no real reason to drastically change in build over the series. It seems like this new series will actually take this into account. For example, Nami has a fairly developed figure, even though it''s her season 1 look. Body-wise, she's closer to her Skypiea - Water 7 proportions (the range I personally prefer from the OG series). This allows them to maintain that look throughout the whole pre-timeskip run and not have the progressive "growth" each arc. Then when the timeskip happens, they could size her up and it wouldn't be as drastic of a shift when seeing her across the series (though I still hope they don't go as out of proportion as we currently have). As for the guys, Ussop seems to have a bit more defined muscle than he did originally, so it similarly won't be a drastic jump from scrawny to ripped that he currently has across the series. Hopefully Zoro, Sanji, and Shanks likewise keep relatively normal necks as time goes on.
@wantanking5826 I hope it drops weekly, Netflix has done weekly releases for certain shows. This is one of the rare times where I'd actually like to have it dripfed to me, lol
one piece anime was already good with its story, but this.. this might make One Piece #1 with Arlong & Sanji’s first backstory since it’ll b accurately spot on with the manga.
I really loved the east blue episodes. When things were simple and the crew just getting to know each other. The most fun and light hearted moments in the series. I am excited to watch it again but with everything up to date.
The colors aren't really muted since they are more so going with the copic color marker aesthetic look with basically "white highlights" akin to a manga colored illustration. Like it is similar to how they did the charcter design for The First Slam Dunk movie since it is the same character designer. Also the interview alluded to it that they came up with the shown charcter designs after taking in feedbacks from the main staff with his initial designs. I don't think they will rework on the designs after the charcter designer himself saying he basically locked himself in his room for a time just to make the designs.
It’s because Oda mentioned in an sbs that Usopp is African, and he also draws him with Afro hair (which is typically associated with darker skinned people), but yet his skin is super white. I don’t think it’s that big of an issue, but I don’t blame people for commenting on it.
@@obi3924 it's Japanese manga and the anime but still people try to apply to them logic of modern American diversity culture. Frankly speaking I personally like Usop more when he's with darker skin as it is now. I also respect Japanese who represent their culture in the way they see it fit. But to see entire drama about that is so confusing.
Even if this is a master piece which it should be there will always be a place for the og anime and all the additional world building we get even though it does have its flaws
Based off of Sanji holding fullbody like that, I really don't think this will be an issue. I just relooked at the original anime version of that scene, and Fullbody has zero blood on his suit and only a small amount on his hand. Compared to the pre-production art from WIT, and I think the only scene from Toei's animation that has anywhere near that level of blood is probably the nothing happened scene (Tbf a later scene might have more, I'm currently half way through Wano). I think this will be as accurate and faithful to the manga as possible, so I am extremely excited. If not rushed (it likely won't), this remake could easily become the most popular anime to ever exist.
The whole project is being Handled my OGs and I know that this series are in good hand and also of Oda told them the art style does not matter they should do what they good at. For those of you complaining about they skin color of the characters, just wait till the remake is out before your open your rotten mouth to say rubbish.
They're just complaining about Canon skin colour's for some reason, but don't seem to complain that skin colour's are so inconsistent throughout the series.
@@tachi5408 lol idk why people always try to complain about Robin specifically. She's literally "Russian", and Toei just didn't know her skin tone. So after the change to the more accurate depiction, everyone lost their minds for no reason. People are so soft it's ridiculous.
@@Not_obligated2care That's why I put it in quotes, Oda said if the straw hats were from actual countries, Robin would be Russian, Sanji would be French, Luffy would be Brazilian, Zoro would be Japanese, Franky would be American, etc
First off, really impressed with WITs approach to design and production, it gives me hope of a great product. Regarding Ussop I still feel it’s a bit jarring. I know it’s close to the design of the manga but even then he looks like the Wayans in white chicks. It’s obvious Ussop is biracial so I hope there’s some thought when it comes production. Was hoping for a Chocolove situation with the lips but oh well. Still exited to see this come to life
I will say one piece is already a masterpiece but the best part of this remake will make it easier to get friends into it because the first 2-3 arcs the animation is outdated and I struggled getting through mihawk getting there
If there's just one thing I think they can do that would improve over both the original anime and the manga, it's to utilize some of the minor changes to the settings that the Live Action implemented. Like making Arlong Park look more like an actual amusement part to better reflect how his inspiration for it was Sabaody Park. I'm not the biggest fan of the LA changes, but that specific one was nothing short of genius IMO. Like, the story should definitely stay as close to the manga as possible, but adding some window dressing to make East Blue stand out a bit more would be a great idea IMO. As far as my expectations go, seeing these concept arts and hearing the thoughts of some of the people working on the series has gone a long way towards alleviating my concerns for this series. I just hope it proves popular enough to get the whole series made. I'd also love to see them give this treatment to other series, like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Bleach.
@ReiseLukas yes, but still making a reboot for the sake of being loyal and aesthetically proned to the manga plus a better quality on it's animation like Imran explained with one piece is what bleach really deserves
I love one piece, but one of my problems was the animation style change after the time skip. If this remake gets to that point i hope they dont change there style. They should also do Toriko, with there focus on food.
Tbh the only reason I haven’t watched one piece is because of the anime art style, I just don’t vibe with it but this might actually make me finally watch it after years of my friends trying to force me to 😅
Oda changed his characters design a lot. they should make a consistent character design for The One Piece characters. Like the eyes should be like modern day design. and Nami should have a consistent figure.
It looks amazing and they seem really enthusiastic about the project. The only thing that stood out to me is Nami. Her waist in the concept art already looks like she's constantly wearing a corset. I get why they did it, but come on, let her have at least a few inner organs intact.
That's how Oda draws women (most of them at least). Like it or not, if they're going for faithfully replicating his art style, they aren't going to make exceptions to waists.
@@vulfreyde Actually, I just went and checked how both Nami and Vivi were drawn in Arabasta (regular scenes and getting the dancer costume scene) and it's pretty off. Yes, they are both extremely skinny, but no, they don't have big boobs or very wide waists. These sketches are not horrible, but they are more in line with the post-timeskip pornstar hentai-girl look of Nami.
If the One Piece Is... Real, the whe an Ouran High School Host Club Season 2, Tokyo Ghoul Remake, Big 3 Remake, Dragon Ball Remake and Berserk Fan Anime can be Real!
I'm just wondering how this isnt gonna end up as a really long running anime if they have this level of quality. I think we'll be lucky to get 12 episodes a year consistently
To anyone who is confused by One Piece getting a remake, Wit Studio adapts 3 episodes for every manga volume. Meaning it could take about 300 episodes to adapt 100 volumes. Toei Animation took 1,037 episodes to adapt 100 volumes.
I love ONE PIECE and I hope they are loyal to the manga, but I also hope they add to the world. Especially the action, the OP action definitely can be improved, if they do it will be the greatest piece of fiction ever. Also stream line the later arcs a little :P
It would be the only thing to get me to watch it it’s not that it’s to long idc about that the pacing makes me wanna cut my wrists slower then molasses and the fights are just as slow and stupid make them bombastic I don’t watch anime to hear people realisticallybreathing I watch for the totality of the story being told
Most interesting thing will be how fast this zips through the first 300 or so episodes and then continues after that. And also if Oda will choose to add any little extra bits or details now he's had 25 years to think about the whole project as a whole as I'm sure things will have changed in his head over that time. Character designs look super faithful to the original characters with their massive five-heads lol. Will be interesting to see it in 16:9 from the beginning also!
this is adapting the manga faithfully. too many anime only fans think this is a episode per episode remake of the original. that’s not what this is. this will be about 300-400 in total, to get to egghead. the current anime is extremely slow and adapts 1 chapter per episode due to Toei’s weekly production schedule for 25 years. the remake is fixing that. so doing the average adaptation of about 3 chapters per episode like literally every anime. so it won’t be 1000 episodes.
@@cwega2463 I hope they do 4 chapter per ep maybe cut few scenes which are not necessary plot wise ,maybe doing till arlong park arc in first season with 24 eps.
@@belalazim the entire east blue saga (until logue town) could easily be done in max 33 episodes. probably 30 realistically. 4 chapters per episode would feel a little too rushed.
@@MohsanPeerzada True, But everyone would love a New Bleach anime with modern animation and with less filler (Including DB and Naruto) the Old Animes does have a charm but still a Remake would be welcome
@@Not_obligated2care reason are one piece is remaking cause they say one piece animation is worst they don't want to see, other hate is one piece is tooo long and one more hate is fights are boring and not bloodish. Wit has no sensoring. So these are the reason op getting hate and so the remake is needed
WIT won't be able to catch up with where Toei is. So arc wise it never will be a problem. Think about it from this perspective though- all the folks who had the lame ass excuse of One Piece pacing wouldn't be able to say no to this. BUT BUT BUT, here is the master stroke. Unlike other new gen Anime, One Piece already has an OG Anime adaption. So one way or the other, folks will get to it while they wait for WIT version season by season. No body who falls in love with One Piece can leave out any content related to One Piece alone.
@@mekizuku4437 No he’s from syrup village - Oda said in a hypothetical question that if he was from anywhere in the real world it would be South Africa. Since he’s not in the story, he can look like whatever Oda wants. Also the majority of people in south Africa are darker skinned but there is a range of melanin there, some people being white. So that point doesn’t work. To be clear I don’t care what they go with. I think getting hung up on skin colour lessens a character, just enjoy who he is. Usopps is the every-man archetype, “supposed/ment to be” misses the point. Just imagine whatever you want.
Nah. Personally ufotable's animation style doesn't suit Naruto. Naruto isn't as flashy as demon slayer or fate. Studio pierrot handles bleach and Naruto and considering how good the tybw animation looks, they are more than capable of remaking Naruto.
@@Randomguy1d If you have read the manga of Demon Slayer, you know that the art and action is nothing like that the anime; the studio took a lot of liberties with the action and made it better. You telling me a Naruto vs Sasuke Ufotable fight wouldn’t work?
@@shawnellesmith I haven't read the demon slayer manga but studio pierrot can do a better job with Naruto than ufotable can. What I meant by flashy wasn't the manga but the anime. Just like you said, the kny manga isn't flashy but the anime is. Naruto's manga isn't flashy and the anime isn't flashy either. If ufotable got their hands on Naruto, the animation would be clean but the fights would be filled with explosions and vibrant colors which don't suit Naruto. What makes the Naruto vs Sasuke fight good is not only the fight itself but how calm the battle field was, there was no bgm playing, no one was yelling, most of the fight was down to earth and it had a lot of meaning to both Naruto and Sasuke. Simply making it flashy won't compensate for what that fight was about.
@@Randomguy1d I’m sure if you Ufotable did Naruto, they wouldn’t overdue it the “flashiness”. For Slayer and Fate, the actions perfectly matches with the fights considering they always work closely with the original creators. I’m not saying Parriot didn’t do a good job with Naruto, but considering this OP remake is being made by a different studio. I’m just giving ideas for which different studios would be good for an anime remake. I believe Naruto Ufotable would be perfect. The main reason Demon Slayer is as popular as it is today is because of the anime: beautifully incorporating 2d with the realistic 3d would be perfect for Naruto.
