Hats off to Henry Thurlow for making history this episode as the first episode director from outside of Japan to direct a One Piece episode.

Big Mom's animation in her "bring it" speech towards Kid is the best animation the series has had! Lip syncing is hard enough, let alone in your own tongue, but Big Mom's body is just another difficult Spike on top! And they nailed it!!!!🤩

When I read this in the manga, I did not notice that misery is actually mother carmel, they are so much alike in the anime.

Oda said this would be the best time to read and watch OP during Wano. He was not cappin! Love this episode, the animating staff is finally having some fun.

I haven't seen anyone talk about it, but what is really special about this episode is the sound edit. In recent episodes, there have been times when, despite some incredible animation, the final sound has simply felt unfinished. Not even that it is poorly mixed or recorded, or filled with overused stock sounds that the studio returns to constantly, but scenes have felt empty and that really drew me out and made me look at the process rather than the result. Like someone was sitting in the editing suite and the producers kicked in the door and demanded a render immediately because the episode was airing in an hour. This episode does some really powerful stuff with the sound. The tinitus effect to open it, peeling away to a quiet (but still populated) ambiance, so you hear Kidd's ragged breathing. Big Mom's command to Misery in the distance, Law's command to Kidd being closer (even though it isn't - it has a kind of 'let's do this!' energy). The moans of the Kazenbo. Et cetera, et cetera. I don't know if it's just a given that sound isn't so important within Toei, and this director's outside approach led to a better product. But it really looks and sounds that way to me. Ishitani's episodes are better IMO, but sound wise this is probably the best episode of the series.

*Kid getting beaten half to death by Misery* Law, who has the power to teleport things: Damn, that’s rough, he should get out of there somehow Honestly though I love how both Kid and Law are acting like cocky kids in this fight - Law getting mad his cool attack is getting one-upped and getting all cocky when the enemy praises it. It was really fun

misery is the fusion of prometeus, hera and napoleon her 3 remanent souls, a couple episodes earlier when zeus was replaced he talked a bout a combine atack

Loved the episode! But I was laughing too when it looked like Momo was trying to take a dragon-sized dump on all those unsuspecting people below 😂😂😂 Big Mom revealed her stand, [Misery] which is the same type as Star Platinum.

kid is so awesome. dude doesn't have a hax fruit or the plot armor that comes from him being intertwined into a larger storyline, hes a regular guy for the world at large. his attitude is as simple as plowing through whatever is ahead of him at 100%, just like luffy. seeing that personality in a side character who can also back it up to an extent against a yonko is awesome. unlike luffy tho kid is a true underdog bc we dont have the assurance that he'll eventually win pretty much every fight. also just seeing his level of determination for a guy who's also ruthless enough to cruicify someone bc they laughed at him is cool, in conclusion i just think he's neat

the episodes are covering full chapters now so it’s a must watch from now on

This is so freaking good! I read that this is actually the first ever ep in One Piece that was produced by an outside of Japan producer. From the US apparently, wich makes sense since Oda and Warner Bros has been working together for this 😆 Im so hyped for Gear 5! its gonna be soo good and funny with the looney tunes art! 🤪

Wano arc in the anime has 20 more chapters left. If they gonna continue to adapt 1 full chapter every episode until it reach the finale of Luffy vs Kaido, Wano arc could be finish this year OR maybe early next year Because i would have imagine that they are gonna drag it out with the post wano stuff But man, we are entering chapter 1040's now. Anime's only are not ready for what is about to come, it's the best stretch of the series
