Fun fact for the openings: a lot of the random images you see of the crew on random Islands (like the turtle in opening 12) are animated cover pages at the start of specific chapters from the manga! They have no relevancy towards the story, but its awesome seeing them animated and used for something!

One Piece is like Lord of The Rings and Middle Earth. Every small details are connected from episode 1 to episode 1000. Sometimes even hardcore fans are mind blown on how the author connects every story line, plot, characters and concepts together across 20+ years of publications.

The first OP is iconic. So much so that they brought it back three times. Once with the cast singing it (op7), once as a remix (op10), and with new animation (op24). It is THE one piece song, WE ARE!

Bro trust me, a year or two ago I told myself I’d never watch one piece because it’s way too long but one day last December I started reading the manga- to chapter 100 about and started the anime soon after…. Let me tell you I was addicted! My tips are take as many breaks as you need because when you have time, you will be binging before you know it! I’m currently up to date it’s so worth it dawg

A lot of people feel daunted when having to watch One Piece because of the countless episodes, but honestly, nobody is saying you have to watch everything at once. You can just stop watching when you get tired of it, and continue some other time. Be it weeks, months or years. You're not forced to watch 1000 episodes in one sitting lol. I've personally taken countless breaks from One Piece, some were years long.

There was actually a special remake of opening 1 for episode 1000 that came out about three weeks ago

Yeah the first opening "We Are!" Is the anthem for One Piece fans lol. I've seen so many videos of fans gathering, and it doesn't matter where they are from or what language they actually speak, everyone sings along to this Japanese song lol.

For opening 7, it's the same as the 1st opening but it's sung by the cast instead of the original singer. For opening 10, it's a remix/cover by Korean Pop group DBSK or as they're known in Japan, Tohoshinki

I started watching OP when I was 11 and am now 22. Needless to say, it's one of the most long lasting figures in my life, literally. It was something to look forward to, something that kept me going. Now I greatly fear not knowing how it ends.

I do believe all or almost all of the watchers in the series including me cried at Opening 13.

It's okay, you didn't missed count the episodes. But there is one you missed, the recently 1000 episode opening special. BTW, the 7th opening is the same as the 1st visually but it was sang by all 6 voice actor themselves as an anniversary special. Another version with 9 crew singing was made as well but you'll have to search the RU-vid for it. The last bit is for the animated Romance Dawn, it's from the pilot chapter, the prototype for the series One Piece. There's several more prototype manga but this one starts it all.

Some people stopped watching on just 3 or 10 episodes due to the fact that the designs and animation look goofy and cartoonish. If you go past that that goofiness and cartoonish designs and take a good look at the bigger picture: the story,..... you will be amazed on how good this series actually is.

One Piece isnt a commitment my dude, it's an Adventure! and if there was only one Anime that you could commit to watching all the episodes and movies to, it should be this one. this Anime will make you laugh, make you cry and most of all get you invested into this huge world and it's diverse characters. also i can answer some questions that are answered very early in the Anime without spoiling too much; 1. the Red Haired guy is Shanks, you could say that he's a father figure, as Luffy has looked up to him a long time. 2. not everyone has powers, some have Devil Fruits in them, they grant unique powers but as a trade off you can never swim again, also being submerged in sea water drains your power, like Superman's Kryptonite weakness. 3. as for Luffy's crew, some have Devil Fruit powers and some dont, at first in fact he's the only one that does, but as you seen they've gotten new crewmates over time. anyways that's all i'm spoiling, you'll have to watch it to get the rest, and trust me you'll want to watch it, again it's more than worth it! XD

If you like the OPs, you'll love the series even more. I didn't like the OPs before I watched the series. I couldn't even sit through all 23 but after watching the series now it has context and I watch the OPs over and over again. This series has got me doing stuff I don't normally do with other anime like reading the manga, buying plushies and following One Piece content creators.

I love pirate stuff but I've never thought I'll watch one piece but then I just wanted to watch 1 or 2 episode just to see what its like and then here IAM IN 1000+ mannn! This is really best anime. One piece describes storyline beautifully and is talks about RACISM, FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY, GENDER EQUALITY and HOW WORLD GOVERNMENT CAN BE THE ENEMY AND CRIMINAL ONE'S WOULD BE THE SIDE OF THE SOCIETY. And all these are related to every episode and the story baseline. Bro its a great ANIME worth watching. ❤️

Echoing some of the other comments, I'd like to say that if you start One Piece, don't worry about catching up. Just work through the story at a pace that's comfortable for you. There's so much depth to this world, so much thought, so many details. Just absorb them at your own pace, and avoid spoilers by not searching for anything one piece related online. That will give you the most enjoyable experience.

Over 1000 chapters so far and over 850 relevant characters to the plot.... It is absolutly insane, but it got better and better over the years. It is also the 3rd best "comicbook" series in exsistence, when it comes to selling copies of the manga itself. Also: Nami is great, but Nico Robin is best girl here :>

I put off watching One Piece for years, I really thought I’d enjoy it but it just seemed like such a big task. Eventually, I just stopped avoiding it, and dove straight in. I realized that it’s no different than when I started another show, and it got renewed for more and more seasons, but with One Piece, you just don’t have to wait for those new seasons! (Until you catch up, of course) Now I’m at the start of Wano, 932 episodes in and I’m dreading the moment where I’ll have no more episodes to binge. It’s a beautiful series, I started growing up with it, and now I wish it had a thousand more episodes.

Nami best girl for me. Definitely both the only one that can keep luffy in check and at the same time lead him to his dream. Very important Nakama just not for combat.

I'm assuming someone has already said this, but just in case; I understand your confusion with the repetition of the first opening but to clear things out: -That opening happened when the manga turned 10 (I think) -"We are!" the song from that opening, is kind of like "THE" One Piece song, different renditions of it sound throughout the whole series in different moments, it's kind of the strawhat's hymn at this point -In this version the song's sung by the main cast, so it's as if the characters were the ones singing the opening. Also the alternate version of the song that comes later happened when the anime turned 10 years old. They called the guy who made the first and asked him to remix it (he's done three more openings since)

not sure if anyone has mentioned it but op 14 and 20 are by the same singer and both songs are such a bop (14 definitely brings forth tons of emotions for me until now). One piece is all about the journey so take your time with this anime if you ever get into it. It’s never a commitment for one piece once a certain moment hits you. “The anime is too long” is such a bad reason, especially when a lot of those ppl who says it watches naruto to boruto 😂 Also, best GIRLS in OP only, why pick just one when you can have whole harem

#1 anime/manga for a reason. It's not long because they are draging the show and the story isn't going anywhere. It's long because the author loves writing about this story so much he decided to take his time to write and flush out the world of this amazing story, in result the world building is incredibly creative and unique.

The last one showed is an Opening cinematic of a game called One Piece; Opening Dawn. They tried to pull a quickie

Some of the crew have powers that came from eating a devil fruit, like Luffy who ate the Gomu Gomu no mi or rubber fruit and now his body is like rubber. The trade off for eating a devil fruit means you can never swim again. Also people get powers from training ridiculously hard like Zoro and Sanji, or from body modifications like Franky who is a cyborg. The redhead guy is Shanks and he is very very important in the pirate world.

I don’t see anyone else saying it so I’ll explain. The 10th opening is basically a remix of opening 1 sung by a different singer with new visuals. Opening 7 is opening 1 sung by the voice actors of the Straw Hat pirates. For episode 1000 they also did a remaster of opening 1 with the new character designs for the Straw Hats in the latest arc.

The OP experience is a rollercoaster. Of both action and emotion (emphasis on the emotion). I’ll admit I first watched one piece in 2019 I believe, and it was my brother who got me to watch it. And like many who were first introduced to the series, I was a bit skeptical considering the episode count. However the story and especially the characters really began to grow on me, and was really into the show by the arc that introduced Sanji. And then I watched arlong park, which was the arc where I realized I was gonna like this show, tackling a lot of serious subjects and showing us how cruel the villains in this world can be. Afterwards I got to the alabasta saga (reverse mountain, little garden, drum kingdom, alabasta) and I really got invested in the characters along with their struggles and goals. And then came water 7 and enies lobby, which I’m pretty sure Enies lobby was the first time I actually cried, with literal tears streaking down my face, add on the ending of thriller bark (which is probably the weakest arc in one piece) and was basically in love with the show. Then came the marine ford saga (sabaody archipelago, Amazon lily, impel down, marine ford, post marine ford) where I got to see what true overwhelming despair looks like, I will not say anything else about that saga. Afterwards, we get to the start of the emperor/wano saga (punk hazard, dressrosa, zoa, whole cake island, wano) where I got to see one piece at its absolute best. There’s nothing more I can add that wouldn’t spoil the story. It’s just amazing to watch a show like this. Another cool thing about this show is the overarching theme of freedom vs justice as show between pirates (freedom) and the marines (justice). And also don’t worry about catching up to the current chapter. Believe it’s not all it’s cracked to be. Sure it’s a milestone, but once you get there, you’re just patiently and painfully waiting for the next chapter to come out. This show honestly was ahead of its time, and so I’m also here to both congratulate the crew members who’ve been with us since day one, to honor the crew mates who fit off the ship before the adventure was over, and to welcome those who are just now joining us on this legendary adventure. Welcome aboard

You know how you'll finish a series and think "Aww, I'm done. I wish there was more..."? One Piece simply doesn't have that problem for a long while. Don't think of it as "oh god, it's such a long series to get into" rather think of it as "hey, there's a ton of this series I can enjoy if I end up liking it."

If One Piece is a MOBA Game: Luffy is definitely a short-ranged fighter, Zoro is a mid-range assassin, Sanji is a close combat fighter, Usopp is a long-range marksman, Nami is an AOE long-range mage, Chopper is short-range fighter/tank, Robin is a long-range support, Franky is a mid-range fighter tank, Brook is a mid-range assassin, and Jimbei is short-range fighter/tank.

Ace, Luffy, and Sabo swore to be each others brothers at a young age. Ace is Gol D. Roger's(previous King of the Pirates) son. Luffy is the son of Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary army, and the grandson of Garp, the strongest person in the Navy. Sabo had some random rich parents I think but they were all raised by Garp. Luffy didn't know he had a dad until later in the series but "Red Hair" Shanks is one of the strongest pirates in the world that Luffy looks up to. Luffy ate a devil fruit that Shanks worked really hard to get because he was stress eating. Shanks entrusted the Straw hat to Luffy that was once entrusted to him by Gol D. Roger. Shanks gave Luffy the straw hat because he believes that Luffy will someday surpass him and become the King of the Pirates.

Honestly, there's a lot of debate on who's best girl in One Piece. Like, a lot. But Nami does probably get the most votes since she's the main girl in the show. But there's debate over best anything in One Piece. Strongest, best devil fruit, best crew, etc.
