I have heard it’s to avoid anything close to gambling/poker (ace the card), i kinda came up with the idea that maybe it’s to avoid a kid trying to say “ace” accidentally saying “ass” or sounding like he’s saying “ass”.

The new series director for the current arc is the one that was responsible fpr the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie. And the 4Kids dub is famous for how bad it was and how many don't like One Piece because of it.

This is the best reactions to the OP openings I've ever seen. Anime Tone actually noticed the things and commented on them that most miss. If you watch a lot of OP reaction videos you know what I mean. Caught the Ace stuff, the We Are repeat stuff etc etc and had subtitles, so the monologues weren't missed. Kudos

Welcome to the fandom! Love how you noticed so much that happened in each opening. And when you watch the anime a little warning some things aren't covered in the anime that are in the manga, like the cover stories which are little stories happening among the chapter title art splashes, they mostly show how background Characters move about the one piece world so you aren't stupidest when someone from 200 chapters ago suddenly shows up to the island the straw hats are on , there's also some bonus info in the SPS bits which are basically Q&A's where Oda answers questions or adds some extra background info. You don't need this stuff to enjoy the show but they answer smaller questions you might have on side events and characters.

Just found this video through recommended, and man this is an incredibly enjoyable reaction. Real happy that you wanna get back into it, itll be a trip, but you probably know that. Keep up the good work!

I actually recommend reading One Piece rather than watching it. I just find the manga more enjoyable and reading it is faster. I'm really excited for the manga to hit chapter 1,000!
