I love the horn at the beginning, as if it's announcing the changing of an era,. It was the exact moment Kaido's mentality went from confident to oh fuck. In a weird sense, behind all the twisted intentions Kaido really was a man of honor for taking that punch and for killing the old woman who played that dirty trick in his fight against Oden. I think the pain he felt from the fight against Oden and just recently when CP0 interfered played a part in his decision to take the punch. If he was going to win he didn't want blind luck or dishonor to play any part. Perhaps that would be worse than losing for him at this point. He mirrored the samurai in that respect. If you take it altogether, him taking that punch was in a sense Sepukku for all the shame and regret he felt for previous events. I personally find the sequence a bit more beautiful when taking that into account as it wraps perfectly in with the Japanese and Samurai theme. Some will call that plot armor but I think these fights are as much of a mind game as they are a physical one. On a good day, Kaido is a depressed drunk. He was the strongest being in the world with the emotional regulation of a child. Just like Big Mom I guess.
