The whole meeting with rayleigh was exactly what the fandom needed. We were already on this journey for so long and with this scenes oda wanted us to know "bear with me, it will all make sense at the end. The adventures coming ahead will be worth it". We needed it
And it did 20 yearrs after introducing the pone glyph In Skypeia we finally found that it was not Roger that wrote it but instead Kozuki Oden, so Ida foreshadowed Oden before he was even introduced into the story, just like he did for Shirohoshi.
@@tanakafupa4255 I wouldnt call that a foreshadow of Oden as a character because there wasnt really anything that implicates his existence still, it was a great subversion and im sure Odas had it planned but a lesser writer still could have put Oden in this late because the existence of just a Poneglyph is so arbitrary.
compare conclusions on the meaning, which means that Roger & Rayleigh didn't completely understand the reasoning or why's of the knowledge of the void century or world. This makes this much more intriguing, like sure some know of the actual events that took place but they don't know for what reason. I'm sure only Im sama and the celestial dragons know the complete history.. It's like how we know about ancient civilizations but don't know the reasoning, for instance, the pyramids in Egypt no one knows what they were for.

I made you read this. Cause they know what everything means. They know that they can't change it, cause they tried that before, when Roger became king. Now, they are waiting to see what will happen in the world and to pick a side when the moment arrives
But roger gave himself up to the navy after becoming the king and learning the truth. This tells me that they probably decided to start a pirate age that puts the world into turmoil. I think he may have known that the way he is now he can't overthrow the govt. So he laid the seeds. I am not sure Shanks made it to Raftel but since he had the straw hat roger probably trusted him with this legacy. I think it will take the entire monkey D family to finally end the hold of the WG. Dragon is already doing it.... and Luffy is unintentionally also doing it. That just leaves Garp to somehow find out that the idea of justice he believes in is corrupt and a sham and we can finally have the battle of a lifetime.
Roger could not fullfill whatever promise or whatever action should have be done so he told his crew and they are waiting for the new pirate king, maybe ready to not see that in his lifetime and pass their will on to someone else.
You guys didnt listen what really Rayleigh says, The world was not ready to know everything, he says they are too earlier to know about that while the rest of world ignorant about the true situation of this world who was blindly fear WG and bastard Celestial Dragon who call themselves Gods. thats why they wage a great pirate era so many sail across the sea and eventually will know everything.
@@Vinc34U they said roger collected all thirty ponegliff (the one with info) and brought it to raftel (its in like the anime-zou when inuarashi was explaining the road ponegliffs) and there they learned the "real ponegliff" and prob found also one piece there
The whole scene in Shakky’s Bar is one of the most memorable moments in the series for me. This conversation and Rayleigh talking about Roger always gives me chills . Sabaody really was a 10/10 arc. Also it’s funny this was in my recommendations right after the latest chapter where Rayleigh made his appearance again.
I have a huge feeling these "spoilers" are finally going to be revealed in the Wano Country arc. If there is any place in the entire OP world with hidden secrets regarding the void century, then that place is it. This arc is starting next year to so its not going to be to far off.

This is an oldish comment, but Brook did copy BM's poneglyph and we pretty much know Scopper Gaban is in Wano Kuni (as well as Lord Oden's relation's to Roger), I don't think we'll truly learn everything till Raftel (the One Piece is probably the last piece needed to learn the True History of the world) but it is possible that Wano will be the first New World location where we get a huge lore dump.
since the first reports of devil fruits are from around 800 years ago they probably appeared during the void century so it's probably depressing indeed
What I don’t understand about One Piece is how Roger even found the Rio Poneglyph in the first place, didn’t the One Piece legend exist only until Roger was executed, and in that case, people are looking for his treasure and not the history of the world? Or did it already exist even before Roger became a pirate? Who was the previous one to reach Raftel?
well, rodger found the second one on skypia because he could hear it, even if oden could read it. but i did think when they said this they meant that whoever can "hear the voice of all things" will be able to hear the ponegliff's words, just like how luffy could hear zou's words
Roger (and Luffy) can hear things other people cannot, such as the Sea Kings and the echo of the bell of Shandia. They can't read the Ponyglyphs but can "hear" the resonance of the stones.
I love the character development here. Robin was ready to DIE in Alabasta when the Poneglyph, one of the only sources of information left to her in the world to find out why her people had to die and it told nothing about the Void Century. Then she grew to care for the Straw Hats and continue her journey and finds a man who has see the entirety of the world. A man who could tell her everything about why the World Government was made, who the People of "D" were, and why Ohara had to die. And yet she stays on her path. I love One Piece and each member of the crew, but my heart will sing when Robin finds the truth with us.
If nothing else, she did it for her own mental health. Rayleigh told her she and the others wouldn't be able to do anything the way they were during that meeting, so knowing the truth of the world would have done nothing but drive them insane. They needed to get stronger, infinitely more stronger than they were here.

Shanks and Rayleigh saw exactly this in Luffy. The reason Rayleigh said they couldn’t do anything about this as they are right now is because he knew Luffy hasn’t been awaken yet. Does it make sense?

I was blown away by fact that They met Rayleigh. Roger pirates are legend in one one piece and there they are with maybe the one guy who knows where one piece is.

Dimitris Tzennetoglou i'm not sure that the one piece is an actual treasure. go to the channel called CodeProvider and watch his video on the theory of one piece if you haven't already. i HIGHLY recommend you do, he talks about what the one piece really is. it's just a theory, but it's a super solid one
What a moment for Robin. A world-class scholar getting her hands on the juiciest find...and wittingly turning it down for the sake of the journey, the promise, not the immediate gratification.
I swear they did a perfect job personifying Robin's answers/dream into Rayleigh! It was just epic how the cloud was covering the sun and shadowed off Rayleigh like that with the bell tone too! Just an epic scene to say the least and this is one of the reasons I watch the anime and not just the manga.
That's the thing about learning from history: one person's interpretation may be completely different from another's and the best way to get the full story is to do your own research.

@@pepelorks9005 there was a foreshadowing about the question on how Roger can write these text on Zou Arc, when they mentioned and reveal that Oden joined that rogers pirate and that kozuki family were the ones who crafted the stones respectively.
It gave me goosebumps when it was revealed that it was Oden kozuki who wrote Roger's message on skypiea... Damn Oda has started to tie up all the loose ends, one piece truly is nearing its end!!!

The moment Reyleigh said "Yeah we know" that shit just sent chills down my spine. I don't think one piece has ever been in a more tense moment then this. I have a hunch were going to learn ALOT more bout the one piece and the void century in this upcoming arc in the manga. ODA is really setting this up to be a quite a grandiose development in the story. We might even get to see the actual one piece towards the end of this arc.
Indra Ōtsutsuki I don't want to spoil it in case you have not read but lets just say one of the largest counsel meetings has been formed, having to do with the leaders of each nation. Obviously the threat has been raised quite a bit and Some returning characters to that you probably wouldn't expect and the fact that this next arc or saga if you will is called VS 4 emperors. I imagine, Blackbeard, Shanks, Kaido and Big Mam is all going to be a large focus in the upcoming moments in the story. Something on a grandiose scale is bout to go down given the fact that each leader of every nation in the OP world was summoned. For sure the revolutionary army will be involved. It honestly sounds like the 4th shinobi world war of one piece. I mean this could actually be IT!! and what i mean by that is THEE WAR over one piece. Hard to tell at this point, but its building towards that direction. We have never had any sort of build-up like this ever in the entire history of this series.

Irvin92 actually sky island was very early for strawhats since you actually have to go to elbaf to climb the big tree and elbaf is in new world so strawhat just took a shortcut and went up to the sky from the knockup stream ^^ and the reason why world goverment cant go there is because theyre afraid of the giants that live in elbaf (its an island full of giants)
This moment was utterly jaw dropping when I first watched it. You knew Rayleigh’s answer would be yes but the bubble popping, the wind blowing, the music coming to a haunt, the sun being shrouded by a cloud and that sound effect that they sometimes use for dramatic emphasis/Haki was just a chefs kiss.
These episodes where they met Rayleigh was the greatest test they ever face. They were given the easy way out, Rayleigh knew the location of Raftel, knew if the One Piece was real or not and where to find it. On top of that he also knew and was willing to tell about the Void Century. During this meeting some of the characters aims could've been given the easy way out. They refused and passed the test that was set for them, by refusing to end their journey like this they proved themselves worthy of pushing forward, uncovering history and paving the way for the new generation. Luffy proved (to Rayleigh) his determination and motives for becoming King of the Pirates and gained Rayleigh's support whereas no-one in the two decades since Roger's execution proved anything of the sort to Rayleigh.
No. That's not what it suggests. Arriving somewhere early is not a sign of impatience. I guess Oda refers to the decision they took after knowing the truth.

Roger was dying soon the crew that had been everywhere rushed to the final island with no time to spare. I think the answer is the same but what you'll gain and how you'll respond to that truth is why Reyleigh think they were too impatient. I think the truth was so awful that the crew spend the rest of their days thinking that they couldn't do anything about it. If Gol D Roger told some dude the truth, what would really change? You need to be a person capable of creating change for it to matter.

It makes sense Robin would be the one to ask Rayleigh for answers. Her family and entire home burned to the ground to suppress them, the first thing she ever asks Luffy is about the Will of D. But because of Water 7, she’s able to move past that trauma and allow the question to go unanswered for now.
This scene will fit perfectly when one piece will end..robin will represent the anime fans and Rayleigh the manga ones...we manga readers will be:yes we learn everything
I believe that after they find one piece and learn the history, the final arc will begin. After wano they need the last road poneglyth (maybe with shanks), then they will go to laugh tale. Whitebeard said that when someone finds the one piece a huge war will begin, finding one piece is not the end.

Looking back at this scene it makes a lot more sense now. *Spoilers probably* (since luffy broke the internet) It always confused me why Rayleigh mentioned that Roger and Ohara "hurried" in researching the void century when I first saw it. But in the Oden flashbacks, Roger said that despite having found the One Piece, they had arrived too early to Laugh Tale, which is probably what Rayleigh actually meant: The true value of the One Piece has yet to become relevant until a predetermined point in the future of which Roger, Rayleigh, Oden and Shanks were aware of. Now that Shanks has declared his intentions to claim the One Piece, coincidentally upon knowing that Luffy's Nika fruit has awakened, its clear that the One Piece's true value is dependent on Nika's revival.
If roger could hear the "voice of all things" and zoro could hear the breath of stone and steel (during zoro vs mr. 1 in alabasta arc) it could be an observation haki but roger's haki must be in completely different level to hear the voice if all things!

JG DL I don’t think so. The voice of all things is something that you can’t achieve through observational haki. If that were true, then how would momonusuke already have it. It’s like saying his observation haki is stronger than katakuri or mihawk or shanks and many others
It all makes sense now. The statement "The result may be different to ours" by Rayleigh means that they may react different when they have found JoyBoy's treasure

Some parts like the sun coming out from behind the clouds. Etc are a bit cheesy, but this scene overall is actually really well put together. The editing, audio effects, score, framing, angles, panning at every moment are all on point and really accentuate the gravity of what they're talking about. Never really took notice of this in while watching One Piece before

And if rayleigh would have told them the details then they would have not reached a different conclusion..their result would have been the same as Roger's...At that point pre time skip it was 18 yrs since Oden's death Poseidon was only 13 yrs old and was not even born when Roger found the one piece.. Kinemon and the scabbards were sent 20 yrs in the future strawhats wouldn't have been able to meet them. So they would have come to the same conclusion and that would mean Luffy is not the one they are waiting for. That message is so powerful and infact so challenging at the same time. When he said. We know everything and we took a certain actions. But if you just listen to it from me then you will never know your real action after the whole journey, without going through that journey. That is existential stuff that he just said.😳😳😲😲😲😲
At this point, Luffy wants the adventure and even here he said that he doesn’t care if there even is a One Piece treasure. He wants the feeling of adventure of heading towards this unknown Raftel/Laugh Tale and be KOP. He’s not really hasty but more involved in his ideals- to be free and set sail as a pirate
the directing is amazing... the rush of wind.. to silence to the calm "yeah we know" followed by the deep bell sound and robins shock.. fuck its really good.
I think the ability to "hear all things" is the peak of observation haki that only a rare few have. The haki will be so deep that It'll allow the person to experience and see the past. Not physical time travel but astral.
I don't think Momonosuke has it. I think Momonosuke is more like Shirahoshi's in that it's limited to hearing a particular creature/creatures and control them whereas Luffy's seems to encompass all things although he can't yet control them.
Yet when roger learned it all in Rafter they all just laugh...... They all laugh soo hard knowing what Joy Boy left behind.... And I think it'll be a beautiful thing....
One piece is definitely up there in league with the greatest stories ever written. Not only among mangas/comics, but among any literatures ever told to man. I've been updated on this series ever since i was 15, back when shabaody archipelago was still the latests on the manga, and i'm 28 now. I just don't know what to do when this series ends...
Just start it again and enjoy it from start to beginning, that's what I will do because then you have the whole conclusion and all the episodes from the beginning with all those half informations, where you maybe even didn't listen to it carefully in the starting days, start making sense to you and you definitely will enjoy all of them
shanks knows the history too, thats why he traded his arm on the "future generation", because he is convinced luffy will be able to make the change the current pirates cant.
Shanks trading his arm is because oda didn't mapped out the whole story back then. hanks could easily defeat the sea king. That was confirmed in one of his interviews.
@@muhammadawawdi9791 i always thought it was intentional by shanks, to make a statement, a sacrifice, because he obviously had the power to defeat the sea king and decided against it to send a message out to the world.
Heard that it was his editor that said that Luffy's backstory would have been "too boring", so Oda made Shanks lose an arm. When Shanks says that he "bet" on the future generation, you could either see it as he intentionally lost his arm to inspire Luffy or he traded his arm to save Luffy, as he's convinced that Luffy will be the one to find the One Piece and Shanks won't.
