Ya that makes sense, having such a generic Leader effect that also draws cards lets you get away with quite a bit. Especially in the case of Boa, make a list full of Removal, 2k Counters, and tempo Characters. Aggressively counter out of everything to keep your hand size low, Remove their characters to gain board control and draw cards, and then just start bullying the board, seems good. I made a video yesterday talking about a similar style deck for Rob Lucci (OP07) that was running very few 4-of's in the deck and seemed like it was all over the place. And, while Rob Lucci doesn't "draw" cards from his Leader Effect, he does fill up his trash with cards he'll be able to interact with later. At first glance, lists like this look like they are all over the place and would lack consistency, but again when the entire deck is being powered by a few primary themes, it looks like it works out just fine, and as you said it's probably actually an advantage, because your opponent has no idea what's going to hit them next.

I was impressed with how well this deck was running. Of course, playing against anything Black can be a struggle, but I think that is true for just about everyone lol.

@@Vvulfrik I agree. But as you also stated, Gravity Blade is amazing against most decks. Boa SR will do great in Vivi as well

Ya that card might be getting slept on. It seems underrated since it can also potentially give you Card Draw with the Leaders Effect

Ya, I really like the 9c Mihawk in the list, but I will say that being able to hit an 8c target with Kaido vs the 7 with Mihawk can make the difference sometimes (Gecko, Katakuri, and Kid). It's rare of course and Red Roc can help us hit anything regardless so I think it's definitely worth giving 9c Mihawk a try.

I have no problem with bouncing an 8c Kid + 2c Rosinante or an 8c Kata + 2c Shirahoshi. Moria is not ideal because of how strong that On Play Effect is, but instead of bouncing the Moria I could just bounce whatever else is on their board and swing into the Moria next turn if my Kaido survives. Or if I have to I'll just bounce the Moria and the next best target so that I can time warp forward another turn. It's no secret that this deck (and most decks) struggle into any deck running Gecko Moria, but if you do bounce their Gecko Moria back to hand, you are basically forcing them into a Stussy turn unless they have what they need to pop the Kaido with some Ice Ages or something like that, but the removal will be an issue for either of the 10c Kaido's. Card draw was never an issue for me while playing, clearing the board was always my priority and as long as I keep my hand size down and stay on my removal I was usually able to get the W. The Bounce Kaido helps me get the board (and potentially draw a card through the leader effect) while the draw 4 Kaido gives my opponent the initiative.

Yes, your opponent can choose to draw a card on the second time instead of the first time. The big difference in Boa's wording versus something like a 2c OP04 Sugar's wording is Boa "can be activated," whereas Sugar's effect is worded as "when your Opponent plays a Character." Not really a great explanation, but the Q&A does confirm that Boa can choose to not activate her Effect on the first removal and instead use it the second time whereas the Sugar wouldn't be able to rest a Character if you skip the first time.

@Vvulfrik it figured which is unfortunate. But what about Sets that are already out. I've found what I think is an official site but I couldn't actually buy anything from it. Is 3rd party the only way to go?

@@chishokudo So the site that I recommend to get individual cards from (people call them singles), is TCGPlayer.com You can make an account on there and buy whatever singles you want to. However, like I said, some cards are not out for us yet in the West, so we have to wait for their release date. Another thing to take into consideration, is when new sets are released, the prices are super inflated because of people wanting to buy the cards they need and play their decks at the next tournament etc. I would wait about 3 weeks before buying anything from a new set. At least that's what I do.

@@chishokudoI’d recommend building a janky, off meta deck and going to local card shops so you can play and meet the local community. Local TCG communities generally are filled with chill people. They might be able to offload some of their bulk to you for cheap, even when the new set drops

Ah, that makes more sense, I was even thinking that maybe he meant to play out the 9c Zoro or something and mis-clicked in that way. But what you are saying makes way more sense. I don't really support OP Bounty or any third party ladder system. If Bandai ever gives the OP:TCG a client and ladder/ranked system like it did for Dragonball, I would grind that daily if it was well made.

@@davidogburn5374 I don't support it because they are pay walling people for access to their own data. The sim is completely free and that's why I support it. However, it took me a while before I even supported the Sim. It was hard to pass up so much easy content. But the Ranked ladder through these third party Discord "Leagues" I don't support. They are farming the data from every match and then compiling it in a database and then charging people for the information they farmed off of them. I am also very curious to hear what Bandai says about it if they find out or if they already know.

@@Vvulfrik I guess that's fair but they also put in the work to program everything to gather that data so i'm a little suprised to see you're upset they're asking $5 for it. They also don't prohibit content creators from going over the stats so it's not like they're trying to milk people.

@@davidogburn5374 Well first of all, you do realize that I make all of my own content up and put out a video every single day and I don't force people to give me $5 to see it. I could very easily put up a paywall for those interested in my content, but I'm not trying to "milk people." It could be a free service they offer, but instead they are trying to make money off of people using it. The person who designed the Sim (Batsu) is the perfect example, he made that entire sim by himself and put it out for free. He could have charged for it if he wanted to, but he didn't want to milk people. And that is very kind of them if you are correct, to not prohibit Content creators to use the content they were forced to pay for. I'm sorry if this came across as abrasive, I'm really not looking to argue in the YT comment section, if you want to talk more about it I would be more than happy to, just hit me up on Discord.
