Blurple Croc is an OG leader who's been around since set 1, but an awkward leader ability and lack of events and support kept him from being truly functional.
With OP4 support however, he suddenly becomes a menace! Take advantage of the new Baroque Works searcher, as well tons of ramp, draw, and trigger effects! Use Blue's offensive and defensive events to proc your leader ability on both your and your opponent's turns, and use the old 7-cost Croc to make your events super cheap, and the new 8-cost Croc to regen your life!

Trust me, I hear you, I always build decks with minimum 10 2k's, but in this deck, there's just no room if you wanna play all those events and really maximize leader ability. I could manage maybe 8 2k's if I really really tried lol. I've just made my peace with over-countering sometimes in the early game. It can feel kinda bad, but it's fine to use one of your 0 cost events to counter out of an early 6k swing if needed. it loads up the trash with events early-on that Blocker All Sunday can fetch using her ability, and it lowers hand-size so leader ability is closer to being live.

Great deck i look forward to trying it out. I have a similar build and went 4 copies of croc 8drop as it felt to be a slower deck and just need to outlast opponent. But I also like using Magellan/ usopp to help get in more often. Red and green matchups are hard

Red's tough, but I actually fare better against it than Yellow. And I hear ya, four 8 drop Crocs is definitely a perfectly good choice 👌 Magellan... Now that's a REALLY interesting one... I oughtta test that out

I was actually using the event to search baroque works so i could draw as well but I never considered using the 2k counter to kill the searcher and ramp. Might adjust my deck for that. Sadly I have no mihawks so I just run 10 drop kaidos instead 😂

Playing the event search is totally valid! Only thing is, searches are most important early game, and it's unlikely that you'll have few enough cards in hand early game to actually use Leader ability of the event. And like you said, killing Ms Valentine with Mr 13 is a cool way to get doubel value out of your searcher. And honestly, I can see 10 drop Kaido working great as well! But it does prevent you from putting 1 Don on leader, meaning you can't use his ability with one of the 0-cost events on your opponent's turn.

Only 6 2ks hurts a lot especially in the early game when you need to be keeping your life up. Galdino is nice but i think i would still prefer doflamingo blocker as he can stack your deck for crocs heal or to get you out of brickey situations. I actually really like love-love mellow but in a red heavy meta dragon twister becomes much better for the bottom deck of a 1 coat and the trigger of bouncing a 6 or less. Hopefully op05 sees less red and love-love will be a more viable option. You are playing a 3 color leader twxhnically cause 8 drop croc is pseudo yellow with that heal. I personally find it hard not to run 4 copies as it is just free in the value it gives you.

I hear you about the 2k's, but I've just made my peace with over-countering in this deck, which is something I forgot to mention in the video. I think it's sometimes perfectly acceptable to use one of the 0-cost events early game to stop a 6k swing. Get rid of a brick from hand, get closer to leader ability being live, and throw events in trash early so that Blocker All Sunday has targets. Late game, I really don't miss the 2k's, as I'll just be using recyclable free Spada's as my 2k's and oftentimes the opponent's swings will be much higher anyway, which allows Mellow and the 0-cost events to shine. I like 8-drop Croc a lot as well; I used to have him at 4, and Mihawk at 2, but ultimately Mihawk's removal is just too valuable I feel. You really wanna see him a lot of the time, often before the 8 drop imo, cuz it's not good to play the 8-drop before 10 Don anyway.

He can, because of the different text from brannew. An easier way to understand it, when the typing is in this brackets : { } then the former stuff are not searchable but if it is in this: " " they are searchable

Thanks for watching! And yup, it's just like the other commenter said. Kind of a neat quirk of searchers in this game, they all work a little differently. Some are restrictive in their search targets, like Brannew, while others are more inclusive, like Ms. Valentine. All the specific words used in the card text are really important to know exactly how the search works Izo's another example by the way - Izo can search for "Whitebeard Pirates Allies" in addition to "Whitebeard Pirates" 😁

Awesome idea! I'll look into it, though, tbh, I'm not sure how much I can change without throwing off the Baroque Works synergy. Might end up being a different deck entirely. But definitely will have to see how all the purple goodstuff from ST10 and OP5 might make this deck stronger
