Danny Kirwan and Peter Green were blessed with incredible musical gifts but that ultimately came at a huge price for both of them.

What a gem! But it makes me sad thinking about Danny. He was so talented, and soulful. So sorry it didnt last longer.

This is amazing, so rare to find ANY footage but now to have this? Peter and Danny practising Danny's song on home ground in Peter's family flat prior to "Then Play On", before Danny even got his Les Paul!! Fans will be speechless. Danny's voice so gentle, his blues bends and vibrato so pure. Peter playing perfect back-up, then both exiting in an old 6 wheel Transit.....! Any drivers remember these..? Four wheels on the back axel, no power assisted steering, half an hour to do a three-point turn!!!

Wow - a glimpse into the magical past. I've always been a Green and Moore fan, but recently I've realised that Danny's musical soul has been somewhat neglected. Such an inspirational musician.

It's in Brixton, where danny lived...... You can clearly see the block of flats in the distance.... Pub is now a crappy looking office..... Thought a plaque outside his house would have been there, that would have been a nice touch...... RIP Danny kirwan

My thanks to you and to the French film makers for capturing this. Yes, 'staged' to an extent in order to make the film ... but the way Peter Green and Danny Kirwan walk towards the van is just so 'young' and 'how it was' so to speak - and then the authenticity of that playing and singing without the amps etc. Nostalgia for anyone that was around in them days (and probably recognisable by current young people trying to 'get it together' with limited resources and space). Wonderful. Thank you again.

I got obsessed with Danny's playing (and Christine's beauty) at age 12 , 1972, my1st concert FM. My heart ached when he left, thru all those yrs of him being homeless ... and still does. I love you always Danny RIP 😢 ✝️

What a wonderful little film, for the Mac fans out there I was in the Marquee club the night Danny's little blues band supported Fleetwood Mac, I think they were called the Bottleneck blues band but I may be wrong on that one?, I did know his bass guitarist a little as he lived at East Ham and I lived at Barking the next town along and I was in bands too so had chatted to him before, Peter watched Danny playing that night and the next time I saw Mac he was in the band.

Brilliant piece of film!! Incredible! No idea who filmed this, but the basement flat that Danny leaves ( his Mother's house probably) is in Bellefields Road ,Brixton SW9. Maybe No.52? The high rise at the bottom of the road is Blue Star House, which is opposite what is now The Brixton Academy, but would have then been The Brixton Astoria. Danny walks past the Queen pub, now demolished,& rebuilt as block of flats with the curve being retained. RIP Danny & Peter❤

Very, very special footage. I hadn't heard Danny's speaking voice before - it's so similar to Peter's! As for the estate in Lytton Grove, it looks almost brand new. I remember it because my school was just across the road - and I was there in this era. For some strange reason, I didn't discover early Fleetwood Mac until 2020, but thanks to YT have been able to do a lot of catching up.

Wow, what a unique piece of footage! I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Droitwich Blues Festival shortly after this clip - September 1968. Danny Kirwin had just joined the band, I remember he looked so young - about 15! I don't think he was very much older. Great band!

OMG! Just discovered this, I want to bow down and kiss the feet of the person with presence of mind to record this snippet, and anything archived in the vaults, immortalizing these moments forever with Kirwan and Greene, my first musical influence was Buddy Holly, when I was 5, I turned on to Fleetwood Mac when I was 12, and remember looking up the musicians on the album and seeing Danny Kirwans name, crushing on him, what a phenomenal talent, he was only 17 or 18 when he joined the band, I also loved Led Zeppelin, I can still recall my mom screaming “turn it down” when I blasted the music in my room, It’s so rough when sensitive souls with genius talent become casualties, the way they both did, and so many people are unaware of this chapter of FM history, I got to see them in Long Beach 71 or 72?and was invited to party with the band, my one Chance to meet my idol but my girlfriend with me had to go home, I should have ditched her! LOL. I got a set of Micks drumsticks as a consultation prize, boo Hoo. Seeing them with Stevie is on my bucket list, damn covid! A please let it happen.

Wow, what great footage. I am a huge fan of both Danny Kirwan and Peter Green, two of the greatest guitar players that ever lived. They made many great records together with Fleetwood Mac and in particular I love "Kiln House" and "Then Play On".

Wow...that was unreal!!! Glad you posted. These guys were so talented. Just look like a couple of blokes in a flat having a laugh....but the music and soul that was attached to it is unreal!!!!! You can see Peter's genuine admiration for Danny and his talent. How many of the guitar heroes of the day would give a young talent like Danny not only a chance to play in a monster band but to take centre stage in playing and writing fairly quickly. Mick was so right about Peter. He had no big ego. Very modest guy. You can see that here as well. You can see the energy and excitement from them when they are heading to the van to speed off to a gig. Wish I could have been there!!!!!!

Yep! Seeing the old Trani, brings back fond memories of driving my mates to gigs in the late 60's ( not the Mac I should add) with them sitting in back on the WEM columns with the rest of the gear stacked up behind, happy, crazy days. I meet Danny once post Mac, who sadly was a shadow of himself then to when I first saw him play in 67. All hail the Original Fleetwood Mac!

Met Danny in Denmark street guitar store one day back in 1970s . He took the store by storm trying out guitars . his blues vibrato was never heard again after he fell victim to drugs

Dang he and greenie were a fantastic duo. LOved their interplay always taking a song to new heights and not trying to out duel one another, just going with the groove. RIP, Danny and Pete.

I like what Peter says when Danny is about to eat the snack: “don’t eat it, it’s poison”. He says it in a funny voice and Danny chuckles.

The only band that I wished I was 10 years older so could have seen the live, that includes Elvis, Robert Johnson, The Beetles and so many more... to me this is golden.
